From Jan. of 1990 to Dec. of 1992, we have experienced three cases of multiple primary malignant neoplasms originated from different histogenesis, in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery of Korea Cancer Center Hospital. Liposarcomas, malignant fibrous histiocytoma were combined with renal cell carcinoma, mucinous cystadenocarcinoma of ovary or prostatic cancer. With Moertel's classification, synchronous tumors were found in 2 cases and metachronous in 1 case. Synchronous tumors were 2 liposarcomas-renal cell carcinoma or mucinous cystadenocarcinoma of ovary. Metachronous tumors were malignant fibrous histiocytoma-prostate cancer. We couldn t find any family history among them. The causes of these multiple malignancies were considered as the individual predilrection to tumors.

Acardiac twinning affects 1 in 100 monozygotic twin pregnancies and 1 in 35,000 pregnancies overall. This condition is characterized by the absence or rudimentary development of fetal heart, and associated with various anomaly. The presence of an acardiac twin requires the normal (or "pump") twin to provide circulation for itself, as well as the acardiac sibling. The acardiac malformations are uniformly fatal in the affected twin, and mortality in the co-twin is as high as 55%. The principal perinatal problems associated with acardiac twinning are pump-twin congestive heart failure, maternal hydramnios, and preterm delivery. We recently experienced a case of acardius anceps associated with a normal male infant, so present with a brief review of the literature.

Journal of the Korean Radiological Society 1985;21(6):923-935
The combination of the various diagnostic methods of palpable breast mass has improved the diagnosticaccuracy. From Sep.1983 to Aug. 1985 pathologically proven 85 patients with palpable breast masses examined withX-ray mammography, ultrasonography, penumomammography and aspiration cytology at Korea Cancer Center Hospital wereanalyzed. The diagnostic accuracies of each methods were 77.6% of mammogram, 74.1% of ultrasonomgram, 90.5% ofpenumommaogram and 92.4% of aspiration cytology. Pneumommamograms was accomplished without difficulty orcomplication and depicted more clearly delineated mass with various pathognomonic findings; air-ductal pattern infibroadenoma(90.4%) and cystosarcoma phylloides(100%), air-halo in fibrocystic disease(14.2%), fibroadenoma(100%),cystosarcoma phylloides (100%), air-cystogram in cystic type of fibrocystic disease(100%) and vaculoar pattern orirregular air collection without retained peripheral gas in carcinoma.

The Journal of the Korean Orthopaedic Association 1996;31(5):992-998
Discoid meniscus in the knee joint is common. From July 1990 through June 1994, the authors performed arthroscopy on 968 symptomatic knee joints. One hundred and six knees of 102 patients had discoid meniscus. Of the 106 knees, 14(13.2%) cases were associated with other intraarticular anatomic variants. There were 7(6.6%) cases with anomalous insertion of the anterior horn of the medial meniscus into the anterior cruciate ligament, and 7(6.6%) cases with anterior transposition of the insertion of the anterior cruciate ligament below the anterior tibial margin like the insertion of the posterior cruciate ligament. Of the 14 patients, the discoid meniscus were reshaped in 11 knees, partially resected in 2 knees, and one patient was treated with repair of a peripheral tear and reshaping. But had no treatment in associated intraarticular anatomic variants. The follow up was done from 24 to 54 months(average 37 months) after surgery. The results were excellent in 8 knees ; good in 4 knees and fair in 2 knees(Ikeuchi scale, 1982) The patients with excellent or good results were satisfied as were the authors, and these anatomical variants other than the discoid meniscus were not related to the patient's symptoms.

Annals of Dermatology 2000;12(3):222-224
Intravenous pyogenic granuloma (IVPG) is a form of pyogenic granuloma (PG) in which the capillary proliferation is confined entirely within the lumen of a vein. It occurs typically in the neck and upper extremities. Histologically, this benign lesion is similar to PG of other localizations and is characterized by a lobular proliferation of capillaries growing in a sparsely cellular, edematous collagenous stroma. We report a case of IVPG developing in the palm, an unusual site of occurrence.

9.Locally Infiltrative Glomus Tumor: A case report.

Korean Journal of Pathology 1994;28(3):325-327
Malignant glomus tumor is a rare neoplasm arising from the glomus body, comprising categories of locally infiltrative glomus tumor, sarcoma arising in benign glomus tumor and de novo glomangiosarcoma. We report one case of locally infiltrative glomus tumor arising in nail bed of the right thumb of a 50 year-old woman. The tumor showed the architectural features of glomus tumor but cytologically bizarre, pleomorphic features without mitosis and infiltrative growth pattern to adjacent connective tissue and nerve. Immunohistochemical results were consistent with glomus tumor. This category of malignant glomus tumor must be distinguished from other round cell tumors because of its good prognosis.

Journal of the Korean Dietetic Association 2005;11(3):331-340
In the present study, in order to improve elementary students' nutrition knowledge and form correct eating habits, dietitian in charge executed nutrition education for 4th-, 5th- and 6th-grade students at Namchang Elementary School in Suwon, Gyeonggi-do using various educational media for five weeks and two sessions a week (a total of 10 sessions) through discretional activity classes. As for change in nutritional knowledge after nutrition education, 4th-grade students showed improvement by 24.3points(p<0.001), 5th-grade ones by 18.0(p<0.001), and 6th-grade ones by 16.7(p<0.001). With regard to change in dietary habits after education, no effect was observed in the improvement of dietary life but the score of dietary habits was improved as a whole. Nutritional knowledge and dietary habits were in a positive correlation with each other before education(r=0.406, p<0.001), but in no correlation after education. Nutritional knowledge and dietary habit practice plan were in a positive correlation after education(r=0.310, p<0.01). With regard to nutritional knowledge after nutrition education by children's body type measured using Rohrer Index, knowledge increased significantly in normal children(p<0.001), obese children(p<0.001) and highly obese children(p<0.05) but not in slim children. The effect of education was not significant for children's dietary habits. Practice plan showed significant changes in all of children(p<0.001). This suggests that nutrition education should be executed from early age. It is necessary to define the goals of systematic nutrition education fit for children's level and to develop various education programs and teaching materials.
