Objective To explore the value of pneumatic lithotripsy under ureteroscope in the management of ureteral calculus . Methods The clinical data of 360 cases of ureteral stones treated ureteroscopically by pneumatic lithotripsy were retrospectively analyzed. Results Stones were successfully fragmented on one session in 85% of the cases (306/360). Complications were observed in 2 5% of the cases (9/360), including 6 cases of ureteral perforation and 3 cases of urinary infection. Conclusions Pneumatic lithotripsy under ureteroscope is safe, effective and minimally invasive.

Saw palmetto fruit extract (SPE), as a herbal product, is widely used for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS). Recent studies show that SPE also has some therapeutic effects on chronic prostatitis, prostate cancer, sexual dysfunction, and so on. This article presents an overview on the application of SPE in the treatment of BPH, prostate cancer, and chronic prostatitis/chronic pelvic pain syndrome, with a discussion on its action mechanisms.

Objective To further elaborate the clinical characteristics, diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of primary cutaneous invasive epidermo-tropic CD8 positive cytotoxicity T-cell lymphoma. Methods The clinical characteristics, diagnosis and treatment of a patient with primary cutaneous invasive epidermotropic CD8 positive cytotoxicity T-cell lymphoma were summarized, and diagnosis and treatment of the disease from published literature were reviewed. Results After one year long, recurrence of exudative maculopapule on his body and limbs,a middle-aged male patient visited our hospital. Then, the patient was diagnosed as T2N0M0 Ⅰ phase of primary cutaneous invasive epidermo-tropic CD8 positive cytotoxicity T-cell lymphoma based on results of skin biopsy,immunohistochemistry,T-cell gene rearrangement and PET-CT.Through integrative medicine treatment (combination of bruceolic oil emulsion and chemotherapy with GDP regimen),the patient achieved complete remission (CR).The treatment and follow-up continues till now and his condition was stable. Conclusions Clinical occurrence of primary cutaneous invasive epidermo-tropic CD8 positive cytotoxicity T-cell lymphoma is rare and early diagnosis is difficult. It could be diagnosed with histopathology combined with T-cell gene rearrangement. In order to avoid misdiagnosis, great caution should be taken during disease history inquiry and physical examination, should be early lesion for delayed healing of recurrent lesions, biopsy should be conducted as soon as possible and immunohistochemistry should be performed simultaneously, which will provide a good basis for further treatment.

Fura—2 was used as a Ca~(2+) indicator to determine the intracellular calcium ion concentra-tion(〔Ca~(2+)〕i)of rat peritoneal macrophages(RPM?s),and APAAP enzyme immnoassay was ap-plied to detect the expression of Ia antigens on RPM?s.The results showed that norepinephrine(NE,10~(-9)mol/L)could markedly increase the〔Ca~(2+)〕i of the RPM?s(p

Objective To observe the specific immune responses in mice induced by co immunization of DNA vaccine of HBcAg and plasmids encoding interleukin 12 and interleukin 18. Methods The mice were divided into following groups: vector alone, DNA vaccine of HBcAg alone, DNA vaccine of HBcAg plus plasmid of interleukin 12, DNA vaccine of HBcAg plus plasmid of interleukin 18, and DNA vaccine of HBcAg plus plasmids of interleukin 12 and interleukin 18. The mice were immunized with above DNA constructs by intramuscular injections. The levels of anti HBc and its isotypes(IgG1,IgG2a) in sera, and the level of IFN ? in supernatant of spleno lymphocyte cultures were measured by ELISA methods. CTL acti vities of spleno lymphocyte were detected with LDH release assay. Results Mice in all groups except for vector alone were sera positive for anti HBc. Comparing with group of DNA vaccine of HBcAg alone, groups of DNA vaccine of HBcAg plus plasmid of interleukin 12, DNA vaccine of HBcAg plus plasmid of interleukin 18, and DNA vaccine of HBcAg plus plasmid of interleukin 12 and interleukin 18 showed much higher end point titers of anti HBc( P

Objective To investigate the expressions of PTEN and MDM2 in bladder transitional cell carcinoma (BTCC) and their clinical significance. Methods The expressions of PTEN and MDM2 were detected by tissue immunohistochemistry test (SP method) in BTCC (n =80) and normal bladder tissues (n =20).The relationship between PTEN and MDM2 as well as their correlations with clinical pathological features were analyzed. Results The positive rate of PTEN in different pathological grading (G1,G2,G3)and clinical staging [superficial (Tis ~ T1),infiltration (T2 ~ T4)] was (86.20%,74.07%,37.50% ;80.00%,46.67%),respectively,with a significant difference (x2 =15.004,P < 0.01 ; x2 =9.497,P <0.01).The positive rate of MDM2 in different pathological grading(G1,G2,G3) and clinical staging [superficial (Tis ~ T1),infiltration (T2 ~ T4)] was (82.75%,55.55%,37.50% ; 70.00%,43.35%),respectively,with a significant differcnce(x2 =11.543,P < 0.01 ; x2 =5.556,P < 0.05).The expression of PTEN was negatively correlated with that of MDM2 in BTCC (r =-0.611,P < 0.05).Conclusions Expressions of PTEN and MDM2 might be involved in the BTCC pathogenesis. The combined detection of PTEN and MDM2 might be of great value in the prediction of tumor behavior and prognosis.

ObjectiveTo detect the mutations of GJB3 and GJB4 genes in two sporadic cases of erythrokeratodermia variabilis(EKV).MethodsGenomic DNA was extracted from two sporadic patients with EKV,their family members, and 100 normal human controls. All the exons and adjacent splice sites of GJB3 and GJB4 genes were amplified by PCR.Mutation scanning was carried out via direct bidirectional DNA sequencing.ResultsA G134C mutation was found at the GJB3 gene in patient 1,which caused a substitution of glycine by alanine at codon 45 (G45A).No mutation was found in the GJB4 gene in case 1 or GJB3 and GJB4 genes in case 2.ConclusionA missence mutation G45A in GJB3 gene is found in a patient with EKV.

Objective To prepare the immunoconjugate composed of Adriamycin nanoparticles and VEGFR 2 monoclonal antibody(conjugate of ADM-NP and VEGFR 2-MAb) and study its pharmacokinetics property. Methods Adriamycin nanoparticles were prepared by using double emulsion method, with PLA and O-CMC as materials. Conjugate of ADM-NP and VEGFR 2-MAb was prepared by using molecule conjugate technology. Immunoreactivity of the conjugate with type IV collagenase and H 22 cell were analyzed by using ELISA. Pharmacokinetics parameters of the immunoconjugate were obtained by using SD rats as study objects. Results The prepared ADM-NP was sphere particles under SEM, which diameters were (160±34) nm. The drug loading rate and entrapment rate were (30.15±3.5)% and (80.56±4.24)% respectively. Conjugate of ADM-NP and VEGFR 2-MAb was successfully prepared, which had immunoreactivity with type IV collagenase and H 22 cell. The immunoconjugate showed good ADM control-release ability and could prolong the retention time of ADM in vivo. Conclusion Conjugate of ADM-NP and VEGFR 2-MAb keeps the immunoreactivity of VEGFR 2-MAb and shows good ADM control-release ability.
