Objective: To explore the cause and the strategy for air quantity signaling in old patients using mechanic air. Method: Summary and analysis of the causes for air quantity signaling in 187 cases of old patients using respiratory machine. Results: One hundred fifty-one cases showed low-limited air quantity signaling per minute whereas 36 cases presented high-limited air quantity signaling per minute. Conclusion: Judging and removing the obstacle in respiratory machine on time and accurately are the key point raising both the survival rate of severe patients and the successful rate of mechanic air.

To study the clinical application of Jintian'ge capsule in treatment of vertebral compression fracture in senile osteoporosis patients. In the study, 69 senile osteoporotic vertebral compression fracture patients hospitalized in our hospital between January 2012 and June 2014 were selected and randomly divided into the control group and the treatment group. Patients in the control group were treated by percutaneous kyphoplasty (PKP), while those in the treatment group were given Jintian'ge capsule in addition to PKP. Efforts were made to visit the patients before the surgery and in three month after that, observe and compared the vertebral height, Cobb's angle, bone density, visual analogue scale (VAS) and Oswestry disability index between patients in the two groups. According to the findings, compared with before the treatment, patients in the two groups showed significant improvements in the vertebral height, Cobb's angle, bone density, VAS and Oswestry disability index three months after the surgery (P < 0.05); During the visit three months after the treatment, compared with the control group, the treatment group showed notable increases in all parameters (P < 0.05), particularly in the vertebral height, VAS and Oswestry disability index (P < 0.05). Based on the above findings, Jintian'ge capsule is applicable in adjuvant therapy after the osteoporotic vertebral compression facture PKP surgery.

OBJECTIVETo explore the clinical application value of Provider-Initiated HIV Testing and Counseling (PITC) by analyzing the positive rate of HIV tests for people in need of PITC and that of routine HIV tests.
METHODSWe retrospectively analyzed the demographic and epidemiologic data about the patients seeking PITC services or undergoing routine HIV tests in Nanjing Drum Tower Hospital between January and December 2013.
RESULTSThe positive rate of initial HIV screening was 1.98% in the PITC group and 0.24% in the routine test group, while that of confirmed HIV was 0. 40% in the former and 0.07% in the latter, both with statistically significant differences between the two groups (P < 0.01). The positive rate of HIV was markedly higher in males than in females, particularly in the PITC group.
CONCLUSIONPITC has a high clinical value in HIV detection for targeted subjects and therefore deserves general application in dermatology.

Objective To investigate the effects of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons ( PAHs) on regulatory T ( Treg) cells in newborns. Methods Blood samples were taken from the umbilical cord of sev-en newborn babies.CD4+CD25+T cells were isolated and treated with or without 300 nmol/L of phenan-threne for 72 hours in the presence of 100 IU/ml of IL-2.The expression of forkhead box P3 (Foxp3), sig-nal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3) and STAT5 were analyzed by 8-color flow cytometry. RT-PCR was performed to detect the expression of DNA ( cytosine-5 )-methyltransferase 1 ( DNMT1 ) , DNMT3a, DNMT3b and IL-4 at mRNA level.Pyrosequencing in combination with bisulphite sequencing was used to evaluate the methylation within the promoter and the Treg-specific demethylated region ( TSDR) of Foxp3 locus.Treg cells were cultured for 7 hours with autologous Tresp at Tresp/Treg ratios of 1 ∶1, 2 ∶1, 4 ∶1 and 8 ∶1 and stimulated with anti-CD3/CD28 beads and IL-2 for the evaluation of the immunosuppres-sive activities of Treg cells. Results (1) PAHs inhibited the expression of Foxp3 and the function of Treg cells collected from newborns.(2) PAHs significantly decreased the expression of STAT5 and Foxp3, but increased the expression of STAT3 (P<0.05).(3)PAHs enhanced the methylation of the promoter and the TSDR within Foxp3 gene.(4) The transcription levels of DNMT1, DNMT3a and DNMT3b in PAHs treated group were significantly higher than those of the control group (P<0.05).(5) More IL-4 was secreted by PAHs treated CD4+CD25+T cells, indicating that IL-4 was negatively correlated with STAT5, but positively correlated with STAT3.Conclusion PAHs decreased the number and inhibited the function of Treg cells in newborns. The possible mechanism might be related to the abnormal expression of STAT3 and STAT5 in-duced by IL-4 as well as the methylation within Foxp3 gene.

Objective To explore the differences in health care quality, scale, output, efficiency, cost and financial condition between freestanding secondary hospitals and system-affiliated secondary hospitals in Shanghai, and analyse the determinants of hospital integration. Methods Eleven upper secondary hospitals in Shanghai integrated between 2000 and 2004 were selected, and another 40 secondary hospitals (including 30 upper secondary hospitals and 10 middle secondary hospitals) without integration were served as controls. Using related data of 1999,Mann-Whitney U test was performed to analyse the differences between these two groups, and Logistic regression analysis was conducted to explore the determinants of hospital integration. Results There were significant differences in health care quality, scale, and output between these two groups (P0.05). It was revealed by Logistic regression analysis that health care quality, scale, output, and financial condition were determinants of integration. Conclusion System-affiliated secondary hospitals have advantages over freestanding hospitals in health care quality, scale, output and financial condition, and those with better health care quality, larger scale, larger output and better financial condition are more likely to be integrated by tertiary hospitals.

Objective To prepare a glycerol reference material. Methods The material was prepared and characterized according to the primary standard substance technological specification(JJG 1006- 1994).Glycerol was dissolved in water containing 0.5% sodium azide and dispersed to glass ampules. The homogeneity and stability of this material were tested with an HPLC method.Glycerol concentration was determined by a titration method as specified in the Pharmacopoeia of China. Results The three time measuring result of glycerol reference material was 1.297 5?0.014 3,1.302 0?0.008 9,1.313 7? 0.007 8,respectively.Statistical analysis showed that this material was homogeneous (F=1.462,P=0.166) .It was stable for at least 4 years at 4℃.The assigned reference value was 0.103 6 g/g and the expanded uncertainty was 0.000 4 g/g.Conclusions This material meet the technical requirements of national primary standard reference material. It is approved as the Certified Reference Material (GBW 09149) by General Administration of Quality Supervision,Inspection,Quarantine of the People's Republic of China in May,2006.

Microbiology 1992;0(03):-
Three hundred and twenty-one bacteria strains were obtained from rice leaves, stem, root tissue and paddy field soil,of which the number of strains which can inhibit mycelium of Magnaporthe grisea growth markedly was fifty-seven through fermentation in 2.0 mL Eppendorf tube, and among these fifty-seven strains, five strains were strongly antagonistic to Magnaporthe grisea. These five strains was identified for their morphologic, physiological and biochemical characteristics, and the results showed that one strain(No.156)was bacillus subtilis, two strains(No.171 and No.177)were Bacillus pumillus and two strains(No.192 and No.279)were Bacillus ploymyxa.
