2.Analysis of diagnosis and treatments of acute mesenteric ischemic disease of 15 cases
Chinese Journal of Primary Medicine and Pharmacy 2009;16(9):1566-1567
Objective To investigate the clinical features, diagnosis and treatment of acute mesenteric isehe-mic disease. Methods Clinical data of 15 patients with acute mosenteric ischemic disease were analyzed retrospective-ly. Results Operation was performed on 14 patients and 1 patient received conservative treatment, 9 cases recovered and 5 died postoperatively. Conclusion Color ultrasound and selective angiography are effective examinations for early diagnosis of acute mesenterie ischemic disease. Early resection of necrotic bowel and application of anticoagulant post-operatively are effective to reduce the mortality. Conservative treatment is still effective for elective patient.

Chinese Journal of Pharmacoepidemiology 2006;0(04):-
Objective:To investigate the cause and preventive measures of chemotherapy-related death from human malignant neoplasms. Methods:A retrospective study was carried out to evaluate the clinical data of 15 patients with chemotherapy-related death of human neoplasms in 2008.The cause, treatment, survival time after chemotherapy and preventive measures were analyzed. Results:The average age of the 15 patients was 52.4 years, and 5 of them were treated with docetaxel. The mean survival time after chemotherapy was 16.8 days.5 cases presented severe sehematological toxicity, and 2,breath failure.Conclusion:Chemotherapy-related death from human malignant neoplasms was correlated with disease history, age and chemotherapeutic agents, etc.;therefore,no use of docetaxel for patients aged over 60 years or with hepatic and lung diseased history could decrease the chemotherapy-related death.

Chinese Medical Equipment Journal 2003;0(10):-
Objective To study 3D imaging and pelvic angiography for multiple pelvic fracture. Methods 30 cases suspected with multiple pelvic fracture with vascular injury were performed with 3D imaging and pelvic angiography, whose dada were analyzed retrospectively. Results 30 cases had multiple pelvic fracture to different extents, of which 25 ones had no abnormality at lower part of abdominal aorta, left & right common iliac artery, left & right iliac artery, external iliac artery and upper part of left & right femoral artery, and 1 case, complicated with local hematoma, had a raptured left external iliac artery at the middle piece of the ilium, and another two cases, also complicated with local hematoma, had a raptured left iliac artery due to the comminuted fracture of the sacrum and a raptured right anterior femoral artery due to the fracture of light femur respectively. Conclusion 16-slice CT has to be involved in when the patient with multiple pelvic fracture is suspected with vasculaer injury.

Quorum sensing is defined as the cell density-dependent regulation of gene expression, and the involved system is the quorum sensing system, in which N-acyl homoserine lactone is known as the signal molecules of most gram-negative organisms. It can regulate diverse physiological functions. This paper reviewed the quorum sensing systems and the recent advances which play a major role in the formation of the symbiosis between the rhizobia and their host plants.

AIM To observe the effects of rhIL 10 on psoriatic models and immune function in mice. METHODS The anti psoriatic effect of rhIL 10 was studied by using the models of vaginal epithelium and tail scales of mouse. ConA induced proliferation and production of IL 2 and IFN ? by T lymphocytes, LPS induced production of IL 1 and TNF ? by the peritoneal macrophages and the activity of NK cells, LPS induced proliferation of B lymphocyte were determined. RESULTS The result showed that rhIL 10 (5, 20 and 80 ?g?kg -1 ?d -1 ,sc) could significantly inhibit the mitosis of vaginal epithelial cells in mice treated with estrogen. No abnormal changes of nucleolus and organelle were found under electronic microscope. rhIL 10 facilitates development of granular cell layers in mice tail scales. There were for 2 to 3 granular cell layers and bigger granular cells in scales under electronic microscope. CONCLUSION The anti psoriatic effect of rhIL 10 is related to inhibiting hyperplasia of epidermal cells and promoting the formation of granular cells and possessing anti inflammatory and immunomodulatory activity.

Objective To determine the efficacy of coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) in children with coronary obstructive disease subsequent to Kawasaki disease. Methods Between Feb 2005 and Sep 2009, 6 children with ischemic heart disease due to Kawasaki disease comprised the study group. The age of patients at operation was ranged from 6 to 12 years with a mean of ( 8.0 ± 2.3 ) years. The preoperative EF was ranged from 0.33 to 0.71 with a mean of 0.57 ± 0.15. There was one case with moderate mitral valve regurgitation. Results All patients survived the procedures. The mean number of bypass graft was 2.0 ±0.6,with 4 internal thoracic arteries and 7 radial arteries. Mitral valve repair was employed in 1 case. The cardisc function ( NYHA and EF) was significantly improved postoperatively. Postoperative CTA showed no graft disease in all cases. Conclusion CABG using the arterial grafts can provide attractive mid-term results in patients with obstructive coronary arteries associated with Kawasaki disease.

Objective To study the effects of ghrelin on action potential (AP) and transient outside K+ current (Ito) in ventricular myocytes of diabetic cardiomyopathy (DCM) rats. Methods A rat model of DCM was established by single intraperitoneal injection of streptozotocin (STZ, 60mg/kg), and whole cell patch-clamp technique was used to record the effects of 10-7mmol/L ghrelin on AP and Ito current density in the DCM rat ventricular myocytes. Results Compared to DCM group, Ghrelin of 10-7mmol/L could significantly prolong APD50 [(12.49±2.32)%;n=7, P=0.037] and APD90 [(26.29±5.13)%;n=7, P=0.006] and decrease Ito current peak value [(23.14±3.07)%;n=9, P=0.021] in DCM rat ventricular myocytes. Conclusion Exogenous ghrelin is involved in the electrophysiological reconstruction of the heart of diabetic rats by decreasing Ito current and prolonging APD in STZ-induced DCM rat ventricular myocytes.

Objective To study effects and other related problems of surgery for patients with cervical spine fracture and ankylosing spondylitis. Methods Twelve patients with cervical spine fracture and ankylosing spondylitis were treated with surgery from April 1986 to April 2004.All eases were studied retrospectively. They were followed up for an average of 67.5 months and their complete clinical data were kept. The neurological function was evaluated by ASIA (American Spinal Injury Association) impairment scale, and the image analyzing software (Image-Pro Plus 5.1) was used to measure the angles of superior and inferior vertebral bodies of the fusion segment at flexion and extension positions. The difference between flexion and extension angles,?,served as the parameter of interspinal movement.According to the definition of spinal fusion by FDA (Food and Drug Administration),the?≥4?was considered as nonfusion.Other related problems were discussed by descriptive study. Results The average improvement in the nine patients with neurological injury was 1.3 ASIA grades. The injured segments in 10 cases were treated with fusion,of whom nine were fused by internal fixation. The fusion rate was 100%.Three cases were scheduled to have laminoplasty, but two had to receive laminectomy instead because of intraoperative complete fracture at the hinged side.Ten patients were complicated by insufficient function of major organs preop- eratively, and endotracheal intubation was difficult to perform in eight cases.Postoperative complications occurred in three cases, but fortunately healed completely. There were no deaths or fatal complications. Conclusions The neurological function can be improved by surgery for patients with cervical spine fracture and ankylosing spondylitis. Although the cervical spine is instable for most of the patients, fusion with internal fixation is indicated and can be successful. Those who had preoperative systemic diseases are likely to suffer from postoperative complications. The difficult endotracheal intubation is a common intraoperative problem.
