Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of acupuncture-moxibustion in treating postsurgical gastroparesis syndrome (PGS) and the effect on gastrin (GAS) and motilin (MTL).Method Fifty PGS patients were randomized into a treatment group and a control group, 25 cases in each group. The control group was intervened by conventional medication, including effective gastrointestinal decompression, nutrition support, and psychotherapy; the treatment group was by acupuncture-moxibustion therapy in addition to the intervention given to the control group. The time of restoring gastric motility, the distention and fullness grading score, and serum GAS and MTL levels were observed, and the clinical efficacies were also compared.Result The total effective rate was 100.0% in the treatment group versus 92.0% in the control group, and the between-group difference was statistically insignificant (P>0.05). According to statistical analysis, there was a significant difference in comparing the time of restoring gastric motility between the two groups (P<0.01). The distention and fullness grading scores, GAS and MTL levels were significantly changed after intervention in both groups (P<0.01). The distention and fullness grading score, GAS and MTL levels of the treatment group were significantly different from that of the control group after intervention (P<0.01).Conclusion Acupuncture- moxibustion plus medication is an effective approach in treating PGS, and it can up-regulate the GAS and MTL levels.

AlM:To discuss the clinical effect and safety of the combined surgeries of phacoemulsification and goniosynechialysis for patients with primary angle -closure glaucoma ( PACG) .METHODS:Eighty-three eyes of 83 patients with PACG and cataract were ranomized into two groups. Group A:39 patients with 39 eyes of angle-closure <180.;Group B:44 patients with 44 eyes angle - closure ≥180.. The changes of visual acuity, anterior chamber depth ( ACD) , anterior chamber angle and lOP after operation were measured. The follow-up period was for 1a.RESULTS: The visual acuity was improved significantly in both group after operation. No significantly difference in ACD, anterior chamber angle after operation in two groups (P>0. 05). The lOP in group A was lower than that in group B 3mo after operation, there was statistical significance (P<0. 05).CONCLUSlON:Phacoemulsification and goniosynechialysis can deepen ACD significantly. This method make the anterior chamber angle open, can reduce lOP and improve the patients’ visual acuity, especially in patients with PACG. lt is a safe and effective approach to patients with PACG and cataract.
6. In vitro metabolic transformation characteristics of cinnamaldehyde in rat intestine
Chinese Traditional and Herbal Drugs 2010;41(12):2014-2018
Objective: To research the in vitro biotransformation characteristics of cinnamaldehyde in rat intestine and the influence of Coptis chinensis on its metabolism. Methods: RP-HPLC Method was applied for analyzing the content of cinnamaldehyde as well as its metabolite cinnamic acid. The stability of cinnamaldehyde in extracts of rat small intestinal mucosa side, serosal side, and homogenate was investigated, respectively. Also the impact of C. chinensis on this process was estimated. Results: The results showed that cinnamaldehyde in rat intestine was unstable and could rapidly be transformed into cinnamic acid. C. chinensis had inhibitation on cinnamaldehyde metabolism. Conclusion: Cinnamaldehyde could be metabolized in rat different intestinal extracts immediately and the main metabolite is cinnamic acid. C. chinensis shows inhibiting effect on the cinnamaldehyde metabolism.

Objective To investigate the regulatory effect of miR-21 on ADAMTS-1 expression in pulmonary fibrosis model. Methods A mouse model of pulmonary fibrosis was established using bleomycin (BLM) anda model of pulmonary fibrosis was constructed in vitro , the expression level of miR-21 was measured by quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR), while the protein expression of ADAMTS-1 was measured by Western blot. NIH3T3 were transfected with miR-21 mimics and inhibitor in vitro and the cellular expression of ADAMTS-1 was measured by Western blot. Results Compared with the blank group , in mouse models of pulmonary fibrosis , the miR-21 expressions in lung tissues at three time points after BLM-treatment were significantly up-regulated while an evident decrease in ADAMTS-1 expressions were observed (P < 0.01). In vitro pulmonary fibrosis model , NIH3T3 cells after TGF-β1 in concentration 5 μg/L stimulation down-regulated ADAMTS-1 expression and up-regulated miR-21 expression (P < 0.01). NIH3T3 transfected with miR-21 mimics and inhibitor, up-regulated miR-21 expression, while down-regulated ADAMTS-1 protein expression. Conclusions Up-regulation of miR-21 and Down-regulation of ADAMTS-1 might be involved in the progression of pulmonary fibrosis model; miR-21 could negatively regulate ADAMTS-1 expression.
