MicroRNAs (miRNAs)can influence the proliferation,apoptosis,invasion and metastasis of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC)cells by signal transduction,epithelial-mesenchymal transi-tion,angiogenesis and other regulating mechanisms.Specific serum miRNAs can serve as novel diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers of ESCC.Recent studies have indicated that miRNAs can improve the radiation sensitivi-ty and even reverse multi-drug resistance of ESCC,holding great clinical value.

Objective To investigate the proliferation inhibition and apoptosis induction effect of thalidomide(Thal) and its joint effect with 5-Fu on MGC-803 cell line. Methods The morphological changes of MGC-803 cells with AO/EB stain were observed under fluorescence microscope. The proliferation inhibition effeet was evaluated with MTT. The apoptosis induction effect was determined by FAM. Results The results of MTr array were as below: the difference was significant between Thai groups of 25 mg/L or above concentration and the control group (P＜0.05), 5-Fu of all testing concentrations showed significant difference compared with the control gToup(P＜0.01). For combined groups with the same concentration of 25 mg/L 5-Fu,combined groups showed distinct difference from the corresponding 5-Fu group (P＜0.01), but two combined groups showed no distinct difference with each other (P＞0.05). For combined groups with the same concentration of 5-Fu 12.5 mg/L, 5-Fu plus 50 mg/L or 100 mg/L Thai showed no distinct difference from 5-Fu group of 25 mg/L(P＞0.05). With FAM study, all test groups showed significant difference compared with the control group (P＜0.01). There was also significant difference between two test groups arbitrarily (P＜0.01).Conclusion Both Thai and 5-Fu could inhibit the proliferation and induce the apoptosis of MGC-803 cells.The effect is reinforced with the combination significantly. Combination with Thai could decrease the concentration of 5-Fu but have the similar effect.

Objective:To screen fatty acid synthase (FAS) inhibitors from natural products and study their inhibitory effects on the proliferation of MCF-7 breast cancer cells.Methods: CCK-8 method was used to detect the inhibitory effects of Fructus Amomi, Polygonum cuspidatum Sieb, Cinnamomi Ramulus and their main compounds, such as polydatin, resveratrol and cinnamic acid on the proliferation of MCF-7 breast cancer cells for 24 h.Results: The results showed that the IC50 values of the 60% ethanol extracts of Fructus Amomi, Polygonum cuspidatum Sieb, and Cinnamomi Ramulus were 24.86μg/ml, 153.67 μg/ml and 178 μg/ml respectively. The IC50 value of Resveratrol was 61.75 μg/ml. The inhibitory effect of Resveratrol was better than that of Polygonum cuspidatum Sieb. Cinnamic acid, the main component of Cinnamomi Ramulus had better inhibitory activity at lower concentration.Conclusion: The 60% ethanol extracts of Fructus Amomi, Polygonum cuspidatum Sieb, and Cinnamomi Ramulus all showed inhibitory effects on the proliferation of MCF-7 breast cancer cells in a dose-dependent manner. Among them, Fructus Amomi had the best inhibitory activity.

Methods The new born Wistar rats were randomly divided into six groups including positive control group, negative control group and four experimental groups. The rats in the experimental groups were given IMA at different concentrations (0.100 0, 0.010 0, 0.001 0, 0.000 1 ?g/10 g) 1/1 000 000 by hypodermic injection, the rats in the negative control group were treated with corn oil and those in the positive control group were treated with dibutyltin dilaurate(DBTD) at concentration of 0.001 ?g/10 g bw. The rats were injected one time each day for five consecutive days. After one and half months, the levels of T, LH and FSH in the blood, the weight of the testicles, ovaries and the sexual organ exponent were determined. The pathological examination on some samples was conducted. ObjectiveTo investigate the effect of a cervical back muscle trainer. MethodsA cervical back muscle trainer designed by ourself was used in 128 patients with different kinds of cervical spondylosis. The situation of pain and activity of daily life of the patients before and 1 month after treatment were recorded and compared. ResultsThe neck pain of all of the patients nearly completely disappeared in a month and their activity of daily life improved significantly(P<0.01). ConclusionThe cervical back muscle trainer can improve the stability of cervical vertebrae through increasing the strength of the cervical back muscle, which can be used as an assistant rehabilitation approach of all kinds of cervical spondylosis.

ObjectiveTo evaluate the effect of Yuxingchangzhi Decoction on level of norepinephrine (NE) and 5-hydroxyptamin (5-HT) in serum of patients with post-stroke depression. Methods76 patients with post-stroke depression were treated with Yuxingchangzhi Decoction or placebo for 4 weeks. Before and after treatment, all the patients were evaluated with the Hamilton Rating Scale for Depression (HAMD),while the level of NE and 5-HT in serum of patients were measured.ResultsThe total score of HAMD of the patients of Yuxingchangzhi Decoction group was significantly different before and after treatment (P<0.01),while that of the placebo group was not significantly different (P>0.05). The NE and 5-HT level in serum of patients of the Yuxingchangzhi Decoction group were significantly different before and after treatment (P<0.01),but that of the placebo group was not significantly different (P>0.05). ConclusionYuxingchangzhi decoction can raise NE,5-HT level in patients with post-stroke depression and alleviate symptoms of depression significantly.
