Journal of Clinical Pediatrics 2017;35(3):223-228
Objective To evaluate the effectiveness of intratracheal injection of pulmonary surfactant (LISA) combined with continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) on the treatment of neonatal respiratory distress syndrome (RDS). Methods The databases of PubMed, EMBASE, Cochrane, China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), Wanfang Database, Weipu Database and China Biology Medicine disc (CBM) were searched, and all of the randomized controlled trial of LISA combined with CPAP for treatment of RDS were included. RevMan 5.2 was used to perform meta-analysis. The differences of mortality, bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD), retinopathy of prematurity (ROP), intraventricular hemorrhage (IVH), periventricular leukomalacia (PVL), and other complications between LISA group and control group were compared in <34 weeks gestational age preterm infants with RDS. Results Five randomized controlled trials were included with 759 infants in total. Compared with control group, the rate of mechanical ventilation (RR: 0.32,95% CI: 0.13-0.82) and the incidence of BPD (RR: 0.61,95%CI: 0.42-0.88) were significantly decreased in LISA group. There were no differences in mortality and the incidences of ROP, IVH, and PVL between two groups (P>0.05). Conclusion The mechanical ventilation and the incidence of BPD is significantly reduced in the treatment of neonatal respiratory distress syndrome by LISA, but it has no effect on the incidences of other complications and mortality.

Objective To compare selenium content in hair samples of children in Kashin-Beck Disease (KBD) areas and control areas, and to provide academic data for KBD control and prevention. Methods In 2011,Longnan,Qingyang,Dingxi City of KDB areas in Gansu Provines were selected as survey point, meanwhile, colleagues of Tianshui City and Lanzhou City were selected as control.Hair samples of children aged between 6 and 12 years were taken from each survey point to determine the hair selenium. After using the nitricperchloric mixed acid to digest the sample, the concentrations of selenium were determined by hydride generator atomic fluorescence spectrometry. Results Two hundred and fifty-four samples from KBD areas and 102 samples from control areas were collected. The hair selenium of KBD areas[(0.22 ± 0.07),(0.22 ± 0.00),(0.20 ± 0.07)mg/kg],were higher than the control areas[(0.32 ± 0.08),(0.42 ±0.11)mg/kg].After comparation of selenium content in every sampling point,we found the range of children's selenium content was relatively narrow in KBD areas (0.08-0.46 mg/kg).The minimum value and the maximum value in KBD areas were lower than that of control areas (0.15-0.51 mg/kg).A totle of 51.1% (182/356) of children was seriously lack of selenium, the hair selenium content was < 0.25 mg/kg.It was also found that Se content was not significantly different between boys and girls. Conclusions Children's selenium is deficient in KBD areas in Gansu. It is important to ensure salt supplement with selenium for a long period of time and through other ways to increase Selenium intake to control KBD.

The paper aimed to evaluate the effects of lead stress on photosynthetic performance and ginsenoside content in ginseng (Panax ginseng). To accomplish this, three years old ginseng were cultivated in pot and in phytotron with different concentrations of lead, ranging from 0 to 1000 mg x kg(-1) soil for a whole growth period (about 150 days). The photosynthetic parameters in leaves and ginsenoside content in roots of ginseng were determined in green fruit stage and before withering stage, respectively. In comparison with the control, net photosynthetic rate and SPAD value in ginseng leaves cultivated with 100 and 250 mg x kg(-1) of lead changed insignificantly, however, ginseng supplied with 500 and 1 000 mg x kg(-1) of lead showed a noticeably decline in the net rate of photosynthesis and SPAD value (P < 0.05), the lowest net photosynthetic rate and SPAD value showed in the treatment supplied with 1 000 mg x kg(-1) of lead, with decline of 57.8%,11.0%, respectively. Total content of ginsenoside in ginseng roots cultivated with 100 mg x kg(-1) of lead showed insignificantly change compared to the control, but the content increased remarkably in treatments supplied with 250, 500, 1 000 mg x kg(-1) of lead (P < 0.05), and highest content appeared in these ginsengs exposed to 1000 mg x kg(-1) of lead. The net photosynthetic rate and SPAD value in leaves of ginseng both showed significantly negative linear correlations with lead stress level (P < 0.01), and significant positive linear correlations between total content of ginsenoside and lead concentration was also observed (P < 0.05). These results strongly indicate that exposing to high level of lead negatively affects photosynthetic performance in ginseng leaves, but benefits for accumulation of secondary metabolism (total content of ginsenoside) in ginseng root.

Objective To study the relationship between the intervals of Mitomycin C treatment and cytotoxicity, apoptosis and drug resistance for bladder cancer cells. Methods The bladder transitional cell cancer line BIU-87 was treated for two hours every time for five times with intervals of 24, 48, 72 and 96 hours respectively.Cytotoxicity was measured by MTT.p53,bcl-2,Bax and p170 expression were analyzed by Western blot. Results The IC_(50)(?g/ml)were 4.41,0.71,2.83,4.51and 6.16 with treatment intervals of 24, 48, 72 and 96 hours respectively, p53 and bcl-2 were significantly down-regulated and bcl-2/Bax was re- duced at 24 hour treatment interval but not changed at 48,72 and 96 hour intervals,p170 was not detected at 24 hour treatment interval but increasingly expressed at 48,72 and 96 hours intervals. Conclusion The in- terval of Mitomycin C treatment is closely related with cytotoxieity and apoptosis and drug resistance of blad- der cancer cells. The intervals of intravesical instillations may play an important role in the effect of chemotherapy.

Objective To study the related factors of stress of parents of children with intellectual disabilities and autism. Methods 45 parents of children with intellectual disabilities and 45 with autism were surveyed. Results and Conclusion The stress level was very high in the parents of both 2 kinds of children, especially in the parents with autism children (P<0.01). The stress level of parents of both 2 kinds of children correlated positively with the level of disability, and correlated negatively with the family income.
