3.Progresses on Biosynthesis of Long Chain Polyunsaturated Fatty Acids in Plant
China Biotechnology 2006;0(12):-
There is immense interest in the long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids(LC-PUFAs) on account of their health-beneficial properties. There has been considerable interest in the production of LC-PUFAs in transgenic plants to provide a cheap, sustainable and clean source of these fatty acids.Several main LC-PUFAs,their roles and metabolic pathway in plant are introducedbriefly, progresses on biosynthesis of LC-PUFAs in transgenic plant are reviewed, and strategies for improving the yields of LC-PUFAs in plant are also discussed.
4.Advances in Application Studies of FAD2 on Biosynthesis of Industrial Fatty Acids
China Biotechnology 2006;0(05):-
Many unusual fatty acids present in the seed oils of non-food plants are modified at the ?12 position either by the addition of epoxy or hydroxy groups or by the formation of triple (acetylenic) bonds or conjugated double bonds. The introduction of these functionalities into C18 fatty acids is catalyzed by a family of divergent forms of the fatty-acid ?12-desaturase (FAD2) enzyme. Genes encoding these enzymes have now been cloned from a variety of organisms and expressed in transgenic oilseeds. However, the accumulation of the intended fatty acids in transgenic plants has been relatively disappointing, and the mechanisms of these unusual fatty acids biosynthesis and transferring from phosphatidylcholine into storage triacylglycerols still need to be elucidated.

Objective To explore the treatment effect and mechanism of A-NK cells on the subcutaneous trans?planted tumor of oral tongue squamous cell carcinoma in nude mice through observing the external growth and hyperplasia of A-NK cells and to provide theoretical evidence for squamous cell carcinoma treatment. Methods A-NK cells and NA-NK cells were both derived from healthy human peripheral blood and cultured in vitro. Cell growth was observed under micro?scope. The squamous cell carcinoma model in nude mice was established through subcutaneous implanting of Tca8113 cells. Then they were randomly assigned into three groups who were injected with either saline solution, or A-NK cells or NA-NK cells paraneoplastically. All animals were sacrificed after 33 days when tumor were isolated then weight and change in tumor size were assessed. Finally curve of tumor growth was drawn. Results Under the microscope, the proliferation of A-NK cells peak in 15 days and NA-NK cells peak in 12 days. After 3 weeks, the number of A-NK cells increased by 39.33 times while the number of NA-NK cells increased by 16.33 times. The Volume of tongue squamous cell carcinoma in saline solu?tion group was larger than that in A-NK cells and NA-NK cells groups, and volume in the NA-NK cells group was larger than that in A-NK cells group. The volume of tongue neoplasms in different groups, time, and interaction effects are statisti?cally significant (P<0.01). The tongue neoplasms weight in the saline solution group was greater than that in the A-NK cells and NA-NK cells group, and the weight in NA-NK cells group was greater than that in A-NK cells group, and the difference are statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion A-NK cells and NA-NK cells can significantly inhibit the subcutane?ous transplanted tumors in nude mice and the anti tumor effect of A-NK group is stronger than NA-NK.

Objective To analyze the clinical features and prognosis in adult Chinese patients with anti-γ-aminobutyric acid B receptor (GABA-BR) encephalitis. Methods We reviewed the clinical manifestations, cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) examinations, brain magnetic resonance imaging and prognosis of 12 patients who were diagnosed as anti-GABA-BR encephalitis in Capital Medical University Xuanwu Hospital from March 2013 to December 2015.Results The major clinical features of anti-GABA-BR encephalitis patients included seizures (12/12),cognitive disorder (10/12),psychiatric symptoms (10/12),sleep disorders (3/12),visual hallucination (2/12),involuntary movements (2/12),decreased consciousness (3/12),cerebellar signs (2/12),fever (2/12).GABA-BR-antibody was positive in CSF and serum of all the patients.Electroencephalogram revealed epileptic discharges in 4/12 patients.Brain MRI showed abnormal signal in up to 9/12 patients, located in the hippocampus, temporal lobes, thalamus and periventricular area.PET or SPECT indicated hypometabolism in 5/6 patients. After the average of fourteen months follow-up,9/12 patients had good prognosis,3 patients did not.Of 3 patients with poor outcome,2 had small cell lung cancer. Conclusions The predominant clinical features of the anti-GABA-BR encephalitis are seizures, cognitive disorder and psychiatric symptoms. The lesions are not only located in limbic system.Early diagnosis and immune modulation may provide a good outcome.

Chinese Circulation Journal 2015;(6):570-572
Objective: To explore the methodology and efifcacy of transcatheter induced closure in patients with small patent ductus arteriosus (PDA). Methods: A total of 717 PDA patients treated in our hospital from 2005-11 to 2014-08 were summarized and there were 8 patients with small PDA were treated by transcatheter induced closure method including 3 male and 5 female from (1-6) years of age at the mean of (3.9±1.4) years with the body weight of (10-21) kg at the mean of (15.2±3.7) kg. The procedures were performed under local or general anesthesia with right cardiac catheterization and descending aortic arch angiography to observe PDA morphology and to measure PDA diameter at aortic and pulmonary aterial lateral and ductus length. Right catheter along the guide wear was pushed to the narrowest part of PDA and the motion was repeated for several times to stimulate the local area and then, the catheter was kept at PDA aortic lateral about 20 minutes thereafter. Results: Descending aortic arch angiography indicated that no residual shunt at 20 min after catheter partial blockage in all 8 patients, the immediate closure rate was 100%. No patient suffering from re-canalization by 1 year follow-up examination. Conclusion: Transcatheter induced closure of small PDA has minor trauma, no foreign material implantation, with low cost and good effect. It provides a new method for treating such particular type of PDA patients in clinical practice.
