Abstract?AlM:To analyze of the clinical features of acute retinal pigment epitheltis ( ARPE) .?METHODS: The clinical data of 36 ARPE patients ( 40 eyes) attending this center from January 2008 to January 2014 were reviewed retrospectively. Of them, 21 patients (58.3%) were male (male :female=1:0. 71). The mean age was 40. 92±7. 13 years old (range:17~60y). The mean best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA) was 0. 50±0. 26 with a range of 0. 3 ~ 1. 0. Thirty-two patients were unilateral cases. All the patients were examined for BCVA, funds photography, fluorescein fundus angiography ( FFA ) , optical coherence tomography ( OCT) . FFA was shown as three types: type ▏ to multiple black light or grape variety fluorescent spot; Type II for l lesions visible fluorescence leakage; Type Ⅲ lesions with choroid neovascularization ( CNV ) . OCT was the following three forms: multiple RPE lesions layer reflection intermittent, proliferation ( type ▏); pigment epithelial detachment with limitations neural epithelium ( typeII);types l and ll with CNV ( type Ⅲ) .?RESULTS: Ocular fundus showed that the lesions were multiple dark-gray spots with a dark circumscribed area at the macular or nearby in all 40 eyes. FFA showed:21 eyes were type ▏, 17 eyes were type II and 2 eyes were typeⅢ, BCVA between type ▏ and type II was statistically significant (P<0. 05), the same was between type 芋. BCVA between different cases in the same type and between type II, Ⅲ, was no statistical difference ( P>0. 05). OCT showed 21 eyes wwere type ▏, 17 eyes were type II and type Ⅲ 2 eyes. BCVA average between type▏ andIIwas statistically significant (P<0. 05). The mean BCVA was no statistically significant difference between type II and Ⅲ patients (P>0. 05).?CONCLUSlON:ARPE fundus demonstrated the multiple dark gray discrete lesions, the degree of visual impairment related with the presence of pigment epithelial barrier and lesion location. OCT and FFA characterized three types. FFA is shown asblack light orgrape variety fluorescent spot, and is the basis of diagnosis. OCT can display the lesions organization form of each layer clearly. lt plays a more and more important role in the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of ARPE.

In this paper, the new carbon nanotube modified glassy carbon electrode (F-CNTs/GCE) was prepared to establish a new method for studying the molecular interaction mechanism between baicalin metal complexes (BMC) and bovine serum album (BSA), and the principle of this method was discussed deeply. Under the physiological condition, the thermodynamics and kinetics properties of interaction between BMC and BSA were studied by cyclic voltammetry (CV) to inference their molecular effective mechanism. The results show that the presence of F-CNTs can accelerate the electron transfer, and better response signal was showed in the BMC/BMC-BSA system. The detection of interaction of BMC-BSA used new method show that BMC-BSA generates stable thermodynamically non-covalent compounds, and the obtained average binding sites of BMC-BSA were 1.7; the number of electron transfer in BMC/BMC-BSA reaction process was 2, and non electroactive supramolecular compounds of BMC-BSA were generated by this interacting reaction. The relevant research work provides a new way to study the molecular mechanism for the interaction of drugs with protein, and with a certain reference value for discussion on the non covalent interactions.

OBJECTIVETo compare the early clinical effects of Activ C cervical disc replacement (ACDR) and anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF) in treating single-level cervical spondylosis.
METHODSThe clinical data of 76 patients with single-level cervical spondylosis underwent surgery from July 2009 to September 2012 were retrospectively analyzed. Among them, 28 patients were treated with ACDR (ACDR group), including 18 males and 10 females, aged from 32 to 62 years old with an average of (45.2±6.2) years; and 48 patients were treated with ACDF (ACDF group), including 28 males and 20 females, aged from 33 to 60 years old with an average of (45.8±6.4) years. Visual analogue scale (VAS), Japanese Orthopedics Association (JOA) score, Short Form-36 (SF-36), imaging data were used to assess the clinical effects after operation.
RESULTSA total of 76 patients were followed up from 6 to 24 months with an average of 13.2 months. VAS of neck pain and brachialgia were improved in all patients after operation (P<0.05), there was no significant difference between two group (P>0.05). Somato-score and psycho-score of SF-36 of two groups were obviously increased (P<0.05), ACDR group was better than that of ACDF group (P<0.05). In ACDR group, there was no significant difference in the range of motion of surgical segments and adjacent segments between preoperative and postoperative (P>0.05); heterotopic ossification around the edge of vertebral body occurred in 1 case on the 6th month after operation, no fusion was found on the 1st year after operation. In ACDF group, the adjacent vertebral disease occurred in 1 case and the patient underwent the reoperation.
CONCLUSIONActiv C cervical disc replacement can reduce the degeneration of adjacent segments and its early outcomes for the treatment of single-level cervical spondylosis are satisfactory, but the long-term effects still need study.

Background Our previous study demonstrated that the aptamer S58 specifically targeted transforming growth factor-β receptor Ⅱ (TβRⅡ) and inhibited the transdifferentiation of human Tenon capsule fibroblasts (HTFs) mediated by transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β).Chitosan-nanoparticles (CS-NP) are good drug carriers, but the efficacy and safety of CS-NP/aptamer complexes deserve attention. Objective The aim of this study was to synthesize a novel CS-NP/aptamer complex called CS (S58)-NP and investigate its properties and applicability. Methods Human Tenon capsule tissue was obtained from patients during strabismus surgery, and HTFs were cultured and passaged using the explant culture method. The fourth to tenth generations of cells were used in the experiment.Different concentrations of CS-NP were used to prepare the CS(S58)-NP by the ionic cross-linking method with a surface charge rate (N/P) for S58 of 10,20,30 or 40.The particle size and Zeta potential were measured by the Zeta analyzer. The shape and distribution of CS (S58)-NP particles were examined under the scanning electron microscope. The binding of CS-NP with S58 and resistance of CS (S58)-NP to DNase Ⅰ were examined by agarose gel eletrophoresis. The release rate of S58 from CS (S58)-NP in PBS was quantitatively analyzed by a ultraviolet spectrophotometer. The cytotoxicity of CS(S58)-NP to HTFs was evaluated by detecting the production of lactate dehydrogenase (LDH).Results The Zeta analyzer showed that the particle size of CS (S58)-NP was 130-270 nm and its electric potential ranged from + 16 to +28 mV.The CS (S58)-NP particles appeared spherical with an even distribution under the scanning electron microscope. The mean encapsulation efficiency of CS(S58)-NP was 88.9%,89.3%,91.7% or 90.5%,respectively,when the N/P was 10,20,30 or 40.After being encapsuled by CS-NP,S58 could resist the degradation from DNase I.Its total releasing level in PBS increased with the lapse of time, with a maximum releasing speed at 24 to 36 hours. The total releasing level reached 100% at 96 hours. With increaseing concentrations of CS(S58)-NP,the relative releasing level of LDH in HTFs suspension gradually elevated with a significant difference among the groups (F =588.018,P =0.000),with the highest released LDH level at 50 nmol/L of CS(S58)-NP (12.853% ±0.375%).Conclusions CS-NP provides a protective and slow-releasing effect on the S58 aptamer.CS (S58)-NP shows a good biocompatibility with HTFs with a low cytotoxicity at a concentration of <50 nmol/L.CS(S58)-NP could be used to inhibit TGF-β induced transdifferentiation of HTFs in the future.
