1.Chromosome 3p tumour suppressor genes and clear cell renal cell carcinoma
Journal of International Oncology 2012;39(1):60-63
The abnormal changes of tumor suppressor genes such as deletion mutant, transcription inactivation or silence on human chromosome 3p (pter) are considered as a key step which is closely related to the tumorigenesis of several kinds of cancers, especially clear cell renal cell carcinoma, one kind of renal cancer. And on this basis,it has been confirmed that the deletion and downregulation of multiple 3p genes such as VHL,RASSF1A,SEMA3B,SETD2,PBRM1,NPRL2 and so on,play a vital important role in the tumorigenesis and development of clear cell renal cell carcinoma. And they provide a further way to explain the molecular mechanism of the tumorigenesis of kidney cancer. However, when the regulatory pathway and mechanism research of some genes are known to us,the other genes, especially those newly founded, which are still not clear and need to be further investigated.
2.Rationality analysis of the second operation for femoral nonunion with internal fixation.
China Journal of Orthopaedics and Traumatology 2016;29(1):48-51
OBJECTIVETo analyze rationality of internal fixation with original fixation in the second operation for femoral nonunion.
METHODSA retrospective study was conducted to analyze the clinical data of 19 femoral nonunion patients treated by internal fixation with original fixation in the second operation since January 2009 to July 2014, including 14 males and 5 females with an average age of (43.63 ± 3.95) years old ranging from 18 and 75 years old. The original fixations involved plate fixation in 11 cases and interlocking intramedullary nail in 8 cases (including 3 cases of retrograde interlocking intramedullary nails). There were 13 cases of atrophic nonunion and 6 cases of hypertrophic nonunion in pathological classification. After second operation, the fracture healing time, Harris hip score and range of motion of the knee joint was recorded and compared with preoperative.
RESULTSAfter the second operatioin, all patients were followed up for 6 to 30 months with an average of (18.67 ± 7.59) months. All patients got fracture healing, and the fracture radiological healing time was from 7 to 29 months with an average of (15.78 ± 4.97) months. Harris hip scores were improved from preoperative 62.37 ± 19.48 to postoperative 87.42 ± 8.86. The range of motion of the knee joint was improved from preoperative (52.16 ± 20.10)° to postoperative (96.32 ± 22.10)°.
CONCLUSIONIt has a better clinical healing rate for using original fixation to treat femoral nonunions, and theoretically speaking it was rationality.

Objective To evaluate the magneto-heating effect and cytotoxicity of the carbonyl iron powder as a feasibility for arterial embolization hyperthermia. Methods Different doses of carbonyl iron powder suspensions were prepared in vitro(10 mg/ml,100%;10 mg/ml,50%;or 64 g/L phenol solutions),and heated for 20 minutes in an alternating magnetic field(49.9,79.9,and 110.2 Oe).The influences of the doses of suspensions and currency of magnetic field on the heating effect were observed.Meanwhile, mouse fibroblast L-929 cells were cultured with the suspensions for 2,4,or 7 days. The morphology and relative growth rate(RGR) of the cells were determined by microscopy and MTT assay. The cytotoxicity of the suspensions was then classified. Results The heating ability of the carbonyl iron powder increased with the suspension concentration and the strength of the magnetic field.A optimal therapeutic temperature was achieved at 110.2 Oe with 60 mg/ml carbonyl iron powder suspension. The L-929 cells showed normal morphology after been treated by the carbonyl iron powder(10 mg/ml 100% solution and 50% solution) for 2,4 and 7 days with the 0-1 degree cytotoxicity. Conclusion The carbonyl iron powder has good heating effect under the alternating magnetic field, and is compatible with the tested cells.

Objective To observe the clinical effect of abdominal Tuina and acupuncture in treating Swiss generalized anxiety disorder (GAD). Methods 80 patients of GAD caused by liver depression-qi stagnation were randomly recruited into a treatment group and a control group, 40 patients in each. The treatment group was treated with abdominal tuina & acupuncture; while the control group was treated with acupuncture exclusively. Clinical effects and hamilton anxiety scale (HAMA) score were observed in both groups before and after the treatment. Results ①There was significant difference in total efficacy between the two groups CP<0.05), and the treatment group was better than the control group. ②The HAMA score of the two groups after the treatment was lower than that before the treatment, and the difference was significant (P< 0.05). There was also significant difference of HAMA score between the two groups after the treatment (/><0.05), with the treatment group showing better results than the control group. Conclusion Abdominal tuina combined with acupuncture has sound effects in treating Swiss GAD due to liver depression-qi stagnation.

OBJECTIVETo explore treatment effect of the locking plate percutaneous external fixation to tibial fractures.
METHODSFrom July 2010 to February 2013, 8 cases with pediatric tibial fractures were treated by using unilateral locking plate percutaneous external fixation, including 6 males and 2 females with an average age of 7 years old ranging from 4 to 10. Among them, 5 cases were open fractures involving 1 case of Gustilo-Anderson type II, 3 cases of type III A, 1 case of type III B; and the other 3 cases were closed fractures involving 2 cases of AO type A3, 1 cases of type B2. The postoperative bone healing and gait impact were observed and the function was evaluated by Johner-Wruhs scores.
RESULTSAll fractures healed successfully without infection. The fracture healing time was from 3 to 6 months with an average of 3.9 months. The locking plate removal time was from 4 to 7 months with an average of 4.3 months. Among them, 7 cases were visually normal after walking with stand, 1 case of anterior tibial tendon defect affected gait. The results of Johner-Wruhs assessment were excellent in 7 cases, good in 1 case. No rub contralateral medial calf skin wounds occurenced.
CONCLUSIONThe method is simple, stable and reliable. The fixation strength is suitable for children using locking plate percutaneous external fixation. The postoperative functional recovery was excellent and the walking gait was less affected. But the point of LCP pedicle screw should be carefully selected before installation with good skin coverage.
