Objective: To develop a new quantitative determination method for the biological activity of recombinant human ciliary neurotrophic factor. Methods: Dorsal root ganglions were derived from the chick embryo and dispersed into single neuron cell,The rhCNTF was added to neuron cells and incubated for 64 hours,The activity of acid phosphatase in neuron cells was determined and the biological activity of rhCNTF was analyzed quantificationally. Result: rhCNTF could promote original era dorsal root neuron cells of chick embryo surviving,the livability of neuron cells was positively related to the amount of rhCNTF added to the culture. Conclusion: A quantitative determination method for the biological activity of rhCNTF was developed by testing the activity of acid phosphatase in neuron cells. Compared with the typical ways,this method was quantificational easily,repeatable better and with much fewer disturbance factors.

Objective To assess the effects of propofol on left and right ventricular function of isolated rat heart against ischemia reperfusion injury Methods Sixteen male SD rats were randomly divided into control and experiment groups The isolated rat hearts was connected to Langendorff preparation and perfused as in our previous experiment After being perfused for 25 min, the isolated heart was subjected to 30 min no flow global ischemia followed by 40 min reperfusion The temperature of the isolated heart was maintained at 36℃ 37℃ during global ischemia In experiment group the isolated heart was perfused with propofol 6?g/ml in perfusate for 10 min before global ischemia The heart rate was paced at 348 beats/min The isovolumetric force velocity indexes and coronary flow were monitored continuously with MacLab instruments Results As compared with the isolated hearts in control group, propofol (6?g/ml) perfusion before ischemia significantly improved left and right ventricular diastolic function by decreasing ventricular end diastolic pressure, dp/dt min and T value At the same time, propofol protected left and right ventricular systolic function by elevating developed pressure, dP/dtmax and Vpm during reperfusion At the end of reperfusion, ventricular tissue superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity was significantly well preserved in the hearts pretreated with propofol Conclusions Propofol 6?g/ml perfusion before ischemia protects the isolated rat heart against ischemia reperfusion injury by improving diastolic and contracting function of right and left ventricles and intrinsic contractivity of myocardium Propofol increases coronary blood flow during reperfusion and increases SOD activity of myocardial tissue

Objective To investigate the mechanisms of angiotensinⅡ receptor blockade in protection against kidney lesion in hypertensive rats.Methods The investigation was comprised with normotensive control (WKY) and hypertensive group (SHR) which included treated and untreated group. AIM: To investigate the relation between cytosolic calcium and glomerular injury in hypertension. METHODS: The normotensive control (WKY) and spontaneously hypertensive rat group(SHR) with or without treatment (losartan 20 mg?kg -1 ?d -1 ) were compared. Intralymphocytic free calcium level and ultrastructural changes in glomerulus were observed at three and eight months, respectively. RESULTS: The results demonstrated early impairment in glomerulus and elevation of cytosolic calcium at three months in SHR group, at eight months, aggravation of impairment in glomerulus correlating with calcium elevation was shown. Losartan significantly attenuated the above pathologic changes. CONCLUSION: Calcium-overload state was not only related to blood pressure and vessel impairment, but also associated with glomerular injury, which could be reversed by losartan.

AIM: To study the impact of hyperlipidemia on vasoactive substances and the mechanism of gemfibrozil in regulating the endothelial function. METHODS: The hyperlipidemic model was established with rats. The serum levels of lipid, NO, angiotensin Ⅱ (Ang Ⅱ), vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) and levels of NO, AngⅡ in myocardial tissues were measured. RESULTS: Hyperlipidemic rats had lower level of NO and higher level of VEGF than control subjects. Significant correlation had been shown between serum levels of lipid and NO. Administration of gemfibrozil significantly elevated serum VEGF, NO and myocardial tissue NO levels. CONCLUSIONS: Hyperlipidemia not only reduced serum NO level but also reduced myocardial NO content, which could cause endothelial dysfunction. Gemfibrozil reversed the above changes induced by hyperlipidemia, which might have relevance to VEGF.

Objective:To study the infuence of chemotherapy combined with thymopetidum on cellular immunity of the patients with late gastrointestinal malignant tumor.Method:80 cases in the present study were divided into two groups:treatment group(40 cases treated by thymopetidum and chemotherapy) and controlled group(40 cases treated by chemotherapy only).25 cases without malignant tumors were grouped as a normal group.The activity of T-lymphocyte subgroup and its cytokines as IL-2(Th_1 ) and IL-10(Th2) in the peripheral blood of the treatment group were investigated before the treatment and on the tenth day after the treatment for two cycles.A statistical study was done between the two groups.Result:Before the treatment,T-lymphocyte subset(CD_3~+.CD_4~+ and the ratio of CD_4~+/CD_8~+ ) and IL-2 of the patients with gatrointestinal malignant tumor were lower than those of the normal group.The values of CD_8~+ and IL-10 were obviously increased,compared with those of the normal group.After the treatment for two cycles,CD_3~+,CD_4~+ and the ratio of CD_4~+ /CD_8~+ were higher respectively than those before the treatment in the two groups,and the changes in the tested group were higher than those in the controlled group.IL-2 of the tested group was lower respectively and its IL-10 was higher than before the treatment,but there was no significant difference for the controlled group.The efficiency of the tested group was higher than that of the controlled group.Conclusion:The immunity of T-lymphocyte subgroup was suppressed in the patients with gastrointestinal malignant tumor and the expression of Th2 type cytokines was enhanced.The cellular immunity of patients was improved by killing tumor cells and removing the immunosuppressive agents after the chemotherapy together with thymopetidum.

Objective To assess the value of serum N terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide(NT-Pro-BNP) in the diagnosis of congestive heart failure(CHF) and evaluation of cardiac function in children with ventricular septal defect (VSD).Methods Fifty one children were enrolled from March 2004 to March 2005.NT-Pro-BNP was measured by enzyme immunoassay technique.At the same time,left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF) and left ventricular shortening fraction(LVFS) were detected with echocardiography.Results The data of NT-Pro-BNP were showed but the logarithms of which were normal distribution.The values of NT-Pro-BNP were developed successively along with the severity of cardiac function.But there was no difference between the group of no heart failure and mild heart failure.But the values of LVEF and LVFS had no differences in the control,the mild and the moderate heart failure and the same time all of which beyond the standard of diagnosing heart failure.NT-Pro-BNP could reflect the degree of heart failure or cardiac function (r=0.826).But LVEF and LVFS can not reflect the degree of the cardiac function.Conclusions NT-Pro-BNP can reflect the degree of the cardiac function in VSD,and the degree of the heart failure can be classed by the levels of serum NT-Pro-BNP.But the value of LVEF and LVFS can not reflect the degree of the heart failure in the same disease.

Objective To investigate the effects of intervention of information literacy education on the feeling of uncertainty of patients with percutaneous coronary intervention.Methods A total of 228 cases of patients with percutaneous coronary intervention who were hospitalized during July 2010 to June 2012 were selected.The patients were divided into two groups by means of random numbers table:the experimental group (including 119 cases) and the control group (including 109 cases).The patients of the control group received traditional nursing intervention,while the patients of the experimental group received additional information literacy education intervention besides the traditional nursing.The change of feeling of uncertainty and state anxiety level of patients under two kinds of nursing interventions was analyzed and compared.Results The patients of the experimental group had high uncertainty level on the day of admission,(99.17-4.46) points.It was obviously higher than the total score (80) by 50％.Compared with that on the day of admission,the uncertainty level on the night before surgery and on the day of patient discharge significantly declined.The state anxiety level of the patients of the experimental group was (52.97±5.91) points,higher than the normative level of Chinese normal people.Compared with that on the day of admission,the state anxiety level on the night before surgery and on the day of patient discharge significantly declined,and it was lower than the normative level.Compared with those of the control group,the MUIS and SAI assessment of the experimental group on the night before surgery and the day of patient discharge obviously declined.Conclusions The information literacy education intervention was able to reduce the uncertainty level and state anxiety level of patients with percutaneous coronary intervention.Therefore,the nursing quality of patients was enhanced.
