Objective To investigate characteristics of pulse pressure of stroke patients and its changes after antihypertensive treatment. Methods 80 stroke patients were randomly divided into treatment group received perindopril and indapamide treatment for 4 years, and placebo group. Blood pressure, the serum levels of sodium, potassium, and creatinine as well as stroke and cardiovascular events were monitored. Results Pulse pressure abviously increased in elderly stroke patients(P

Objective To observe the effects of Dl-3-n-butylphthalide ( NBP) on the mitochondria infarction, size of myocardial infarction and myocardial apoptosis after acute myocardial ischemia in rats. Methods 92 male SD rats were divided into sham operation group (8 rats) , model group (21 rats) , and low-dose NBP group (21 rats) , medium-dose NBP group (21 rats) , high-dose NBP group (21 rats) . The model and NBP groups were made into MI model by ligation of the left anterior descending ( LAD) coronary artery, but not in sham-operated group. Model group and NBP group were taken heart specimens after coronary artery ligation. Cardiomyocyte apoptosis was ana-lyzed by TUNEL in each group. Size of MI was analyzed by TTC staining in sham-operated group, model group and high-dose NBP group. Electron perspective microscopy was applicated in observing mitochondria infarction in model group and high-dose NBP group after myocardial infarction. The expressions of Bcl-2 protein and Bax protein were detected by Western blot. Results Compared with model group, butylphthalide significantly increased expression of Bcl-2 protein ( P <0.05 ) and the ratio of Bcl-2/Bax ( P <0.05 ) , inhibited mitochondria infarction ( P <0.05 ) , reduced myocardial infarct size ( P<0.01 ) and cardiomyocyte apoptosis ( P<0.05 ) . Conclusion Bu-tylphthalide significantly inhibits myocardial infarction by increasing expression of Bcl-2 protein and the ratio of Bcl-2/Bax and decreasing mitochondria infarction, reducing myocardial infarct size and cardiomyocyte apoptosis in rats during the acute myocardial ischemia process.

Objective To investigate the mechanisms of angiotensinⅡ receptor blockade in protection against kidney lesion in hypertensive rats. Methods The investigation was comprised with normotensive control (WKY) and hypertensive group (SHR) which included treated and untreated group. Relevant index such as blood pressure and ultrastructural changes in glomerulus with transmission electronic microscope were acquired in three-month old and eight-month old. Losartan was administrated with 20mg?Kg -1 ?d -1 in treated group. Results The volume density of vessel endothelium, mesangial cells and mesangial area of SHR was significantly larger than that of WKY(P

AIM: To investigate the relation between cytosolic calcium and glomerular injury in hypertension. METHODS: The normotensive control (WKY) and spontaneously hypertensive rat group(SHR) with or without treatment (losartan 20 mg?kg -1 ?d -1 ) were compared. Intralymphocytic free calcium level and ultrastructural changes in glomerulus were observed at three and eight months, respectively. RESULTS: The results demonstrated early impairment in glomerulus and elevation of cytosolic calcium at three months in SHR group, at eight months, aggravation of impairment in glomerulus correlating with calcium elevation was shown. Losartan significantly attenuated the above pathologic changes. CONCLUSION: Calcium-overload state was not only related to blood pressure and vessel impairment, but also associated with glomerular injury, which could be reversed by losartan.

Chinese Journal of Pathophysiology 2000;0(11):-
AIM: To study the impact of hyperlipidemia on vasoactive substances and the mechanism of gemfibrozil in regulating the endothelial function. METHODS: The hyperlipidemic model was established with rats. The serum levels of lipid, NO, angiotensin Ⅱ (Ang Ⅱ), vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) and levels of NO, AngⅡ in myocardial tissues were measured. RESULTS: Hyperlipidemic rats had lower level of NO and higher level of VEGF than control subjects. Significant correlation had been shown between serum levels of lipid and NO. Administration of gemfibrozil significantly elevated serum VEGF, NO and myocardial tissue NO levels. CONCLUSIONS: Hyperlipidemia not only reduced serum NO level but also reduced myocardial NO content, which could cause endothelial dysfunction. Gemfibrozil reversed the above changes induced by hyperlipidemia, which might have relevance to VEGF.
7.The Acting Mechanisms of Statins and Their Application in the Prevention and Treatment of Stroke

International Journal of Cerebrovascular Diseases 2006;0(10):-
Stroke is one of the most important causes of disability throughout the world.Epide- miological and clinical studies have demonstrated that statins significantly decrease the incidence of ischemic stroke. In addition to lipid-lowering effect, statins may also have a number of other acting mechanisms that are not dependent on reducing cholesterol levels. Moreover, statins inhibit cerebral vasospasm caused by subarachnoid hemorrhage. For most of the individuals, the safety and tolerability of statins are well.

OBJECTIVETo compare clinical effects between percutaneous compressing plating (PCCP) and proximal femoral nail antirotation (PFNA) for the treatment of patients with intertrochanteric fracture with risk external wall.
METHODSFrom September 2007 to June 2010, 43 patients with intertrochanteric fracture with risk external wall were treated by PCCP or PFNA according to different kinds of internal fixations. There were 22 cases in PCCP, including 9 males and 13 females with an average age of 68.4 (ranged, 60 to 86) years old, and 13 cases with type A2.2 and 9 cases with type A2.3; while 21 cases in PFNA, including 7 males and 14 females with an average age of 67.7 (ranged, 57 to 93) years old, and 10 cases with type A2.2 and 11 cases with type A2.3. Blood loss, operation time, hospital stay, fracture healing time, complications and Harris score after 1 years' following-up were observed and compared.
RESULTSAll patients were followed up for 12 to 22 (means 18.4) months, and all patients were obtained fracture healing, and recovered walking ability as before injury. There were no significant differences in blood loss, operation time, hospital stay, fracture healing time, complications and Harris score after 1 years' following-up (P>0.05). One case occurred displacement on the top of greater trochanter, and 1 case injuried weakness of hip abduction. One case occurred screw breakage in PCCP, while 1 case occurred hip joint pain in PFNA.
CONCLUSIONBoth of PCCP and PFNA in treating patients with intertrochanteric fracture with risk external wall can receive good clinical effects, while the effects and therapy strategy for displacement of bone on the top of lateral wall should further study.
