The present study aimed to investigate the effect and the mechanisms of Bu-zhong-yi-qi-tang (BZYQ) on Spleen-Qi deficiency rat's model using nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) metabolomics and multivariate statistical analysis methods. The rat Spleen-Qi deficiency model was established as follows: oral administration of Radix Rhei extract, loaded swimming and starvation for 24 h. The body weight and motor behavior of the rats were measured and recorded once a week. BZYQ could significantly improve body weight and behavioral of Spleen-Qi deficiency model rats compared with the model group (P < 0.05, 0.01). After drug administration, the changes in the levels of endogenous metabolites in the spleen including decreasing lactate, taurine and hypoxanthine, increasing glutamate and scyllo-inositol compared with the model group. The metabolomics approach is an effective tool for the investigation of the pharmacologic mechanism of BZYQ and it is helpful to further research.

Journal of Audiology and Speech Pathology 2014;(5):510-513
Objective To study the influence of cochlear implantation on residual hearing in children .Methods Behavioral audiometry were performed pre -implant and 3~21 months post -implant on thirty -four cochlear implant recipients with severe to profound hearing loss .According to follow -up time ,they were divided into 2 groups which were Group A(3~12 months ,21 cases) and Group B(≥13 months ,13 cases) .The thresholds at 250 Hz ,500 Hz ,1 000 Hz and 2 000 Hz were analyzed .Results There were 25 out of 34 patients (73 .53% ) had partial residual hearing after cochlear implantation .Comparing to the hearing loss pre -operation and post -operation , which were most obvious at 500 Hz ,followed by 250 Hz ,1 000 Hz ,2 000 Hz (P<0 .05) ,and there were significant different among different frequencies .There was significant difference at different frequencies at hearing loss thresh-olds only in Group A .But there was no significant difference in Group B .With the prolonged time after the cochlear implantation ,residual hearing at all frequencies showed a trend of recovery .Conclusion The residual hearing could be partial preserved after cochlear implant in pediatric patients with severe to profound hearing impaired ,the residu-al hearing at lower frequencies (250 Hz ,500 Hz) were less affected than those at higher frequencies .With the pro-longed time after the cochlear implantation ,the residual hearing showed a certain degree of recovery .

Objective No related training experience, no systematic training before military training, psychological negative emotions(tension and anxiety) and low frequency of physical activities(less than three times a week) have been considered as crucial risk factors of high intensive military training induced acute kidney injury. This paper aims to discuss whether these risk factors can be used for screening high risk groups. Methods Soldiers were divided into 5 groups based on the questionnaire survey:Group1 had no risk factor, Group2 had 1 risk factor, Group3 had 2 risk factors, Group4 had 3 risk factors, and Group5 had 4 risk factors.Urine samples were collected after 6 h and 24 h of 5 km armed military training.Kidney injury indicators were compared such as urine protein, urine occult blood test, urine micro-albumin ( mALB) , urine N-acetyl-β-D-glucosaminidase( NAG) among different groups. Results As the risk factors increased, the incidence of positive urinary protein 6 h after training increased (x2 =101.8,P<0.001),and the levels of mALB and NAG of urine samples were elevated as well. The analysis among moderate and high risk groups(Group3-5) showed that the levels of mALB and NAG of urine samples 24 h after training increased with the number of risk factors. The mean value of these injury indicators reached to the maximum in Group 5.Conclusion No related training experience, no systematic training before military training, psychological negative emotions( tension and anxiety) and low frequency of physical activi-ties(less than three times a week) are independent risk factors of high intensive military training induced acute kidney inju-ry,which can be used for screening high risk individuals during training.

Chinese Journal of Hepatology 2011;19(9):683-685
OBJECTIVETo investigate the prevalence and distribution of HCV genotypes and the clinical effect of interferon-alpha combined with ribavirin treatment in chronic hepatitis C patients in Kunming.
METHODS60 patients were divided into two groups based on drug therapies: PEG-interferon-a plus ribavirin treatment group for HCV 1b and interferon-a plus ribavirin treatment group for non-HCV-1b. Serum ALT levels and HCV RNA quantitations of the patients were detected during treatment and follow-up.
RESULTSThe HCV genotypes of 60 patients were determined by type specific probe assay, and five different types were found. Their overall prevalence were 21.7% for type 1b, 5% for type 2a, 16.7% for type 3a, 48.3% for type 3b, and 8.3% for type 6a. Sustained viral response rates for PEG-interferon treatment group were 46.1%, for interferon treatment group were 74.4%. The abnormal rate of serum ALT after the treatment had no significant difference between HCV-1b and non-HCV-1b patients (P>0.05). All patients with early viral responses got sustained viral response.
CONCLUSIONHCV-3b is the most dominant genotype in Kunming. The effect of PEG-interferon-a plus ribavirin treatment for genotype 1b is unsatisfactory. The early viral response is a good predictor for the responses to antiviral therapy in chronic hepatitis C patients.

Breviscapine, a flavone glucuronide, is a cardiovascular medicine extracted from a Chinese herb Erigeron breviscapinus. Modern pharmacological research shows breviscapine has a therapeutic effect on cardiovascular diseases such as cerebral thrombus, cerebral ischemia hemiparesis and platelet aggregation et al. However, its poor water solubility and low bioavailability in vivo severely restrict the clinical application. In this article, we reviewed the marketing preparations of breviscapine and its research progress on the new dosage forms.

OBJECTIVE To investigate the risk factors, clinical characteristics and resistance of Staphylococcus aureus nosocomial infections so as to guide the treatment of S.aureus infection.METHODS To collect clinical materials of S.aureus nosocomial infection and analyze risk factors and clinical characteristics and detect sensitivity of isolated strains to antibacterial agents.RESULTS Severe underlying diseases existed among 73 cases of S.aureus nosocomial infections,82.19 percent of patients had received invasive interventions.Lower respiratory tract was the most common infective site.Seventy-nine strains of S.aureus were isolated, including 66 meticillin-resistant S.aureus(MRSA) and 13 meticillin-sensitive S.aureus(MSSA).S.aureus showed general resistance to many kinds of antibiotic drugs. The resistant rates of MRSA were much higher than those of MSSA(P

China Biotechnology 2006;0(12):-
The ergosterols were produced from corn straw hydrolysates fermented by ergosterol yeast, which was obtained from protoplast electrofusion. The effects on the yield of ergosterol were studied in the condition of shaker, such as initial sugar concentration, nitrogen source,pH value and fermentation time. The technical conditions were optimized according to the DPS center-united experimental design principles and the method of response surface analysis with four factors and three levels. The results indicated that the four factors had significant correlation to ergosterol accumulation. The biomass and the ergosterol content could be up to 8.67g/L and 2.37% respectively after cultivated for 32h under optimal technical condition. The structure of ergosterol crystal was characterized by UV,IR and SEM.A new approach of biomass source application was presented.
