2.Risk factors for deep vein thrombosis after total hip arthroplasty
Orthopedic Journal of China 2006;0(13):-
[Objective] To analyze the clinical risk factors for the deep vein thrombosis(DVT)after the total hip arthoplasty(THA).[Methods]Fifty-one THA in 48 patients from February 2007 to July 2007 were evaluated.Color Doppler ultrasonography was used to detect DVT of bilateral lower extremities in all patients before operatioon and at 7 days after operation.Fifteen clinical factors were examined perioperatively in order to analyze their influences on DVT formation after surgery.[Results]Seventeen patients with DVT after operation were discovered through Color Doppler ultrasonic detection, and all of the DVT occurred at the calf intermuscular vein. The incidence of the DVT in all patients was 33.3%,and 41.7% of these DVT patients were asymptomatic.Logistic regression analysis indicated that patients older than 65(OR=116.597),large volume of blood transfusion(OR=1.01)and high level of triglycerides(OR=37.249)were the risk factors for the occurrence of DVT after the THA.[Conclusion]Female, old age, obesity, increase of the level of triglycerides and cholesteral,O blood type, large volume of blood transfusion and patients with diabetes or hypertension raised possibility the occurrence of DVT.Based on this research,it concludes that patients older than 65,large volume of blood transfusion and high level of triglycerides are the risk factors for the occurrence of DVT after the THA,doctors should control the total dose of blood transfusion,to reduce the dose per time and increase the times of massive blood transfusion.Besides these, both clinicians and doctors performing Color Doppler ultrasonography should pay attention to the calf intermuscular DVT.

This article was aimed to study the inhibition of cell proliferation and induction of apoptosis by β-el-emene extract from traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) Rhizoma Zedoariae on human hepatocellular carcinoma (HepG2) cells, as well as the effect on expression of apoptosis-related proteins in liver cancer-burdened H22 mice. Human HepG2 cells were cultured in vitro. MTT method was used in the determination of β-elemene on cell prolif-eration. Apoptosis of cells were detected by the Annexin V-FITC/PI double staining method. Through the establish-ment of liver cancer-burdened H22 mice model, the inhibition of cell proliferation and induction of apoptosis-related protein expression by β-elemene on tumor-burdened mice were observed. The results showed that β-elemene inhib-ited HepG2 cell proliferation, which was dose- and time-dependent. Annexin V-FITC/PI method detected early apoptotic cells. Inhibitions of tumor growth on tumor-burdened mice from different groups were different. Inhibition of tumor growth in the high-dose β-elemene group was relatively low, and that of the middle-dose was more obvi-ous. It was concluded that β-elemene can effectively inhibit human HepG2 cells proliferation. The inhibition on pro-liferation of cancer cells was through the inducing of cell apoptosis. It was also related to the upregulation of apopto-sis-related protein Caspase-3 and downregulation of NF-κB P65.

Objective To analyze the laws of acupoint selection of acupuncture for generalized anxiety disorder (GAD); To provide references for clinical treatment. Methods Computers were used to search articles about acupuncture for GAD from China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), Wanfang Database Resource System, Chinese Scientific Journal Database (VIP database) and Chinese BioMedical Literature (CBM) from their respective founding dates to Dec. 31, 2015. The corresponding database was established with NoteExpress2, and the laws of acupoints were analyzed. Results Totally 41 articles were included, including 56 acupuncture prescriptions, involving 50 acupoints in 14 meridians. The frequency for acupoint selection was 287 times. There were 49 main acupoints (225 times of acupoint selection, accounting for 98.0%) and 23 matching acupoints (62 times of acupoint selection, accounting for 46.0%) in the treatment of GAD. Main acupoints with high frequency were Baihui (GV20), Shenmen (HT07), Neiguan (PC06), Sanyinjiao (SP06) and Yintang (GV29). Matching acupoints with high frequency were Zusanli (ST36), Taichong (LR3), Neiguan (PC06), Shenmen (HT07), and Fenglong (ST40). Selecting acupoints along meridian mainly depended on Governor Meridian, Taiyang Bladder Meridian of Foot, Shaoyin Heart Meridian of Hand and Jueyin Pericardium Meridian of Hand.ConclusionPrinciples of acupuncture for GAD is treatment determination from heart and brain, emphasizing syndrome differentiation and identification of diseases, and the clinic mainly adopts acupoints along meridian with symptomatic acupoints treatment.

Objective To investigate the schistosomiasis japonica infection and preventive knowledge of immigration popula-tion in Jinshan District,Shanghai so as to provide the evidence for improving the control work. Methods The immigration popula-tion from schistosomiasis endemic provinces and local people were screened by serum IHA screening for schistosome infection, and the positives were further examined by Kato-Katz technique and the miracidium hatching method. The schistosomiasis preven-tive knowledge and behaviors were investigated by questionnaires. Results A total of 579 were investigated with 348 immigration people and 231 local people, and among them, the male accounted for 72.0%and female accounted for 28.0%. In the immigration population, the main age group was 20-29(56.0%),and 56.6%of the immigration had an education level at senior middle school or higher. The most proportion of immigration was from Anhui Province(36.2%). There were 4 IHA positive persons(1.15%)in the immigration, and 1 was positive in the stool test, and the schistosome infection rate was 0.29%. There were no positives in the local people. The schistosomiasis preventive knowledge of the immigration was generally poor, and some people’s behaviors of see doctor and medication were incorrect. Conclusion There are schistosome infected persons among the immigration population from schistosomiasis endemic provinces, and their schistosomiasis prevention knowledge was poor, thus there is a schistosomiasistransmission risk.
