5.Preparation and Antibacterial Effect of Polyamine Cotton Fiber Loaded with Cu~(2+)
Journal of Environment and Health 1992;0(02):-
Objective To study the method for preparing the polyamine cotton fiber loaded with Cu2+ and to test the antibacterial effect of the cotton fiber. Methods The natural cotton fiber was treated through basification, epoxygenation, alkene amination and Cu2+ adsorption. 8 kinds of microorganisms were used for the bacteriostasis test. Results The modified fibers showed a good antimicrobial effect to gram-negative bacteria and the bacteriostasis value achieved 6. The minimal sterilization concentrations of the Cu2+-diethylene triamine cotton fiber, Cu2+-triethylene tetramine cotton fiber and Cu2+-tetraethylene pentamine cotton fiber were 12 mg/ml, 14 mg/ml and 10 mg/ml respectively. The antibacterial process of the cotton fiber included two parts, adsorption and sterilization. The acting site was on the cell membrane. A positive relationship was seen between the concentration of antibacterial cotton fiber and the dissolved rate of bacteria. Conclusion The metal ion fiber shows an excellent performance of broad-spectrum antibacterial effect, especially to gram-negative bacteria and may be the "contact killing" is the acting manner of the antibacterial cotton fiber.
6.Value of Enhancement Patterns for Characterization of Focal Hepatic Lesions
Chinese Journal of Bases and Clinics in General Surgery 2003;0(04):-
Objective To investigate the diagnostic value of the enhancement patterns for characterizing various focal hepatic lesions (FHL). Methods Forty-seven patients (50 lesions) were included into the study. The morphologic features and the dynamic enhancement patterns of FHL were observed in the early arterial phase, late arterial phase and portal venous phase. The degree of FHL enhancement was analyzed by calculating the contrast-to-noise ratio. Results 70% of the HCCs presented “fast-filling and rapid-washout” feature; 67% of the cholangiocarcinomas showed slight enhancement in arterial phase, and 33.3% had delayed enhancement on portal venous phase; All hemangiomas presented peripheral nodular enhancement in arterial phase, which then demonstrating centropedal “push-on” enhancement in portal venous phase; Hepatic abscesses mainly presented a slightly enhanced rim around the lesion with fibrous septa inside and an edematous zone outside. Conclusion The enhancement pattern and the dynamic evolution of FHL enhancement had a great diagnostic value for different FHL by using MRI 3D-VIBE sequence.

Objective To evaluate the clinical value of magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography (MRCP) in diagnosis of extrahepatic bile duct obstruction. Methods MRCP images of 42 patients presented clinically with obstructive jaundice were retrospectively reviewed to assess the lumen morphological abnormalities of benign versus malignant bile duct obstructions, with clinical pathological correlation. Results The bile duct of the 30 cases of benign biliary obstruction presented regular and symmetric dilation, gradual tapering, regular thickening and had a “beak like” tip. The accuracy of MRCP for evaluating the site and the etiology of the benign biliary obstruction were 100%(30/30) and 97%(29/30) respectively. The bile duct of the 12 cases of malignant biliary obstruction presented irregular and asymmetric dilation, abrupt narrowing or iterruption, irregular thickening and had “dual duct sign”. The accuracy of MRCP for evaluating the site and the etiology of the malignant biliary obstruction were 100%(12/12) and 92%(11/12) respectively. Conclusion MRCP is the noninvasive technique of choice with excellent accuracy for the evaluation of obstructive biliary pathology.

AIM: To compare the clinical results of suture method and partial eyelash resection treating for pediatric eyelid trichiasis, and screen an effective method for the treatment of pediatric lower eyelid trichiasis.
METHODS: Fifty-six cases of pediatric patients with lower eyelid trichiasis were randomly divided into a control group and an observation group in accordance with the method of drawing lots, and each group was 28 cases. The control group was treated with suture method, and the observation group was treated with partial eyelash resection. The clinical efficacy, patient satisfaction before and after treatment, and the incidence of complications were compared.
RESULTS:(1) The clinically total effective rate was 74%of the control group, which was 89% of the observation group, and there were statistical differences of the clinical efficacy between the two groups ( P<0. 05 ); ( 2 ) the satisfaction scores were (3. 89±1. 22) points and (6. 27±1-86) points of the the control group before and after treatment, which were ( 4. 00±1. 34 ) points and ( 8-95±2-34) points of the observation group, and there were statistical differences of the two groups before and after treatment (P<0. 05), and the scores of the observation group were higher than that of the control group ( P<0-05);(3) complications such as swelling and stitches off appeared in both groups, and the rate was 21% in the control group, which was 11% in the observation group, and there were statistical differences between the two groups (P<0. 05).
CONCLUSION: The treatment of children with lower eyelid trichiasis, suture method is simple and can be performed under local anesthesia in collaboration with children, but with a higher relapse rate, some patients required reoperation;partial resection of eyelashes can be more thoroughly solve the problem of pediatric eyelid trichiasis with low recurrence rate, but children need to be under general anesthesia with some of big risk. So partial resection of eyelashes is unsuitable for using in clinical practice widely and can be used in special cases.
