Syndrome of Inappropriate Antidiuretic Hormone Secretion (SIADH) was a common complica-tion of small cell lung cancer (SCLC). Recent studies have suggested that the origin of this disease is related to seceration of tumor cells and application of medecine. The inappropriate antidiuretic hormone secretion can lead to disturbance of metabolism of water and sodium, resulting in hyponatremia. Because the symp-toms are atypical, the diagnosis is difficult. Many cases are misdiagnosed or misseddiagnosed. The primary tumor must be treated and the restriction of water intake is the main and effective method to deal with SIADH. Prognosis of SCLC patients with SIADH is poor in most reports.

Torpor refers to a state in which the metabolic activity in the body of the living animal is greatly reduced during the period of reduced food supply, which is manifested as a substantial decrease in body temperature, metabolic level, and exercise level. Mammals have a strict body temperature regulation system to maintain a constant body temperature. When the energy supply is insufficient for a long time, some mammals will enter a hibernation state. Torpor is very similar to the hibernation state. The research on the mechanism of torpor state is of great significance in aerospace, military medicine and other fields. This review summarizes the specific mechanisms regulating the occurrence of torpor from four aspects: adenylate cyclase activating polypeptide (adcyap) neurons, leptin, pyroglutamylated RFamide peptide (QRFP) neurons, and sympathetic nervous system, aiming to provide ideas for further research on the mechanism of torpor.

Objective: To improve clinical nutritional support, Ten years′ experience of nutritional support in critical patients was reviewed. Methods: The 2 590 critical patients came from 19 departments in our hospital, including 20 kinds of diseases. The nutritional support ways included parenteral nutrition (PN) and enteral nutrition (EN).At the same time, some nutritional indexes were examined in patients operations for with guttural cancer and heart and in older critical patients. Results: There was a rising in enteral nutritional support for critical patients. It was obvious that the patients′ nutritional indexes had been improved after nutritional support. Conclusions: The right nutritional support is beneficial to critical patients in improving the immunity and is one of the important ways to improve the level of treatment.

Population pharmacokinetic study can be formulated according to the individual differences of patients to the dose, in the accurate medical model which has a unique advantage. At present, there are many problems such as adverse drug reaction in Chinese traditional medicine, and it is necessary to introduce a group of medicine on the basis of precise medical treatment. However, due to the different characteristics of traditional Chinese medicine and chemical medicine, it is necessary to combine the population pharmacokinetics, genetics and statistical methods to establish a research method which is in line with the characteristics of Chinese medicine. The key scientific problem is to make clear the active components of Chinese medicine metabolism of the drug metabolic enzyme gene, and pay attention to the analysis of the polymorphism of the overall role of drug metabolism enzymes in the human body. Objective To determine whether LTB4 could indirectly stimulate human osteoclast differentiation in RA through increasing RANKL expression of RAFLs. Methods We utilize the coculture model of RAFLs and monocyte which were stimulated in the presence of 2.5 ng/ml M-CSF in the control group, 2.5 ng/ml M-CSF +10-8 mol/L LTB4 in the experimental group A, 2.5 ng/ml M-CSF+10-8 mol/L LTB4+100 ng/ml OPG in the experimental group B. After culture for 3 weeks, through TRAP staining we counted the number of multinucleated TRAP staining positive osteoclast-like cells stained with TRAP to evaluate the differentiation effect in each group. Results There was almost no osteoclast-like cell in the control group and the experimental group B. Whereas there were many osteoclast-like cells in the experimental group A. Conclusion LTB4 can indirectly stimulate human osteoclast differentiation in RA through increasing RANKL expression of RAFLs.

BACKGROUND:Because of osteoporosis, short-segment transpedicular fixation or screw-rod system fixation is prone to screw loosening depending on its poor anti-pul-out strength in patients with thoracolumbar fracture with ankylosing spondylitis.
OBJECTIVE:To probe the clinic outcomes of multi-segment transpedicle spinal fixation for thoracolumbar fractures with ankylosing spondylitis.
METHODS:Eleven patients with ankylosing spondylitis combined with thoracolumbar fracture in the Fourth Department of Orthopedics, Meizhou Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University, China from January 2009 to December 2012 were selected. Al the patients underwent posterior reduction and multi-segment transpedicle spinal fixation, among whom, six cases were subjected to internal fixation through the pedicle of fractured vertebra.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Al of the 11 patients were fol owed up for 13 to 36 months. Solid bone healing was achieved in al of the patients, and there were no complications related to the internal fixation systems such as loosening or breakage. Three cases of spinal cord injury achieved Frankel’s class E from class C recovery. Lumbodorsal pain rate achieved 100%according to the Japanese Orthopaedic Association scoring. Results confirmed that it is effective to treat thoracolumbar fractures with ankylosing spondylitis by posterior reduction and multi-segment transpedicle spinal fixation. Strong internal fixation and fracture union can be achieved by operation.

Objective: To evaluate the effects of stent implantation for treatment of Budd-Chiari syndrome. Methods:A total of 16 patients with pasthepatic inferior vena cave (IVC) obstruction syndrome were treated by balloon catheters ( Polythene and Inoue ) in percutaneous transluminal angioplasty (PTA) , then stent were inserted into the obstruction. Results: The residual pressure gradient after PTA and stent implantation was decreased from (4.6?0. 3 ) kPa to (2. 1?0. 1) kPa. The diameter of IVC after PTA and stent implantation was increased from (3.8?1. 7)mm to (14. 9?2. 0)mm. Conclusion : PTA and stent implantation are effective treatment for pasthepatic inferior vena cave obstruction.

To investigate the inhibitory effects of RNAi expression vector on CaMKⅡ? expression of PC12 cell lines. siRNA expression vectors were constructed to be targeted directly at CaMKⅡ? gene. The recombinants were transfected into PC12 cell line with liposome. The expression of CaMKⅡ? was detected by RT-PCR and Western blot. Expression vectors could reduce the expressions of CaMKⅡ? mRNA and protein in PC12, Compared with blank vector group, the former, the ratio of inhibition of the expression of CaMKⅡ? mRNA was 46.40% and 64.69%, in 48th hour and 72th hour, the ratio of inhibitory of the expression of CaMKⅡ? protein was 74.77% in 72th hour. RNAi expression vectors can effectively inhibit the expression of CaMKⅡ? in PC12.

Objective To investigate the factors for retinopathy in premature infants. Methods Ophthalmologic mydri was conducted in premature infants and acording to the international classification of ROP, they were diagnosed as ROP. The risk factors of the incidence of ROP were statistically and respectively analyzed. Results Among total of 47 patients, 11 patients were found retinopathy of prematurity. Conclusion The body weight is lower, the gestation is shorter, incidence of ROP is the higher.
