Eighty-five endophytic fungal strains were isolated from the roots、stems and leaves of Polygala tenuifolia Willd, among which, fifty-two from natural plants and thirty-three from cultivated ones. Sev-enty-six strains were classified as twenty-three fungal genera. The inhibitory activity screening to fourteen microbe were conducted research. The results showed that some endophytic fungi had remarkble inhibitory activities to Bacillus subtilis, Shigella sonnei, Escherichia coli, Candida albicans, Fusarium kyrushuense and they were all belonged to Fusarium, Alternaria, Aphanocladium respectively. All of the endophytic fungi isolated from Polygala tenuifolia showed no inhibitory activities to Staphyloccocus aureus, Salmonel-lae enteritis, Bibrio parahemolyticus.

Microbiology 1992;0(06):-
Pesticides, especially chemistry pesticides with high toxicity, high residue, and difficult degradation are a kind of important environment pollutants and pesticide degradation by microorganisms is one of the powerful means to treat pesticide pollution. Many researchers conducted lots of studies on it. Types of pesticide degraders, construction of genetically engineered microorganisms, degrading mechanisms, degradation characteristics, influencing factors, applying effect and so on were summarized in this article. The research trend of degradation of pesticides by microorganisms and problems to be solved were also put forward.

Objective To observe the effect of underwater treadmill training on patients with incomplete spinal cord injury (SCI).Methods 11 patients with incomplete SCI were treated with underwater treadmill training, besides other comprehensive rehabilitation. Motor and sense scores were assessed using ASIA2000 standard and recorded before and after the underwater treadmill training. Walking distances, maximal walking velocity when training and changes of activities of daily living (ADL) before and after training were also recorded. Results After underwater treadmill training, the sense score of ASIA increased ( P<0.05), motor score of ASIA, and scores of walking distance, maximal walking velocity and ADL increased significantly ( P<0.01).Conclusion The underwater treadmill training along with other routine rehabilitation treatment may be helpful to improve motor and sensory functions and ADL of patients with incomplete SCI.

Objective To investigate homografting vascular endothelial progenitor cells(EPCs)for preventing restenosis formation of carotid artery in New Zealand white rabbit models. Methods EPCs of New Zealand white rabbits were isolated, confirmed and expanded though the injured carotid arterial endothelium of rabbit model induced by dilatation with a 2.5 F balloon;and then EPCs were transplanted into the injured endothelium of the cells transplantation group(n=13,3 of them were transplanted with fluorencently-labeled- EPCs),while equal volume of saline without EPCs was injected into the injured endothelium in the control group(n=8).Histopathology was performed at 4 days after transplantation for the 2 rabbits, with fluorencently-labeled-EPCs.All of the rest remained rabbits were killed 4 weeks later for histological examinations. Results The histopathological slides showed that the fluorescence-positive expression existed in the injured endothelium 4 days after transplantation. At 4 weeks after the EPCs transplantation, there were less restenosis and less vascular wall thickening in the rabbits of cells transplantation group than those of the control group(P<0.01).Conclusion The local interventional homografting heterogeneous endothelial progenitor cells can prevent restenosis after the carotid artery angioplasty in New Zealand White rabbit model. The content of benzyl isothiocyanate (BITC) which as the enzymatic hydrolysis product of benzyl glucosinolate through thioglucosidase was determined by HPLC. The content of benzyl isothiocyanate (BITC) which as the enzymatic hydrolysis product of benzyl glucosinolate through thioglucosidase was determined by HPLC. The chromatography condition was as follows: Kaseisorb LC ODS 2000 (4.6 mm x 150 mm, 5 min) column with the mobile phase of acetonitrile(A)-water( B) under gradient elution (0-5 min, 3%-8% A; 5-9 min, 8%-48% A; 9-23 min, 48%-62% A; 23-28 min, 62%-99% A); the flow rate was 1.0 mL x min(-1) with 10 microL injection volume; detection wavelength was 246 nm and temperature of column was 40 degrees C. The content of benzyl glucosinolate was in the range of 10.76-17.91 g x L(-1). The method is simple, accurate and good reproducibility which can be used for the determination of benzyl glucosinolate in Lepidium meyenii, effectively.

Objective To investigate the patients′cell morphology characteristics in peripheral blood and bone marrow with the reduce of leukocyte, hemoglobin and platelet in peripheral blood, and analyze the common cause. Methods From June 2005 to Feb-ruary 2011,222 patients with pancytopenia treated in the hospital were enrolled in the study, whose peripheral blood and bone mar-row smears were stained by Wright, combined with histochemical staining and the clinical data of patients, the disease types were analyzed. Results In the 222 patients with pancytopenia, patients with hematopoietic system disease accounted for 84.65% (188/222),non-hematopoietic system disease accounted for 15.35%(34/222),the difference was statistically significant(P <0.05 ).In 150 patients whose peripheral blood smears were obseved,58% patients obtained positive results. Conclusion The diseases of hem-atopoietic system are the common cause of pancytopenia, but can not ignore the non-hematopoietic system diseases.Peripheral blood smear has a high value in the diagnosis of these diseases.

Objective To investigate the incidence and distribution of aberrational karyotype in acute myeloid leukemia (AML), and study the significance of the grouping by Southwest Oncology Group/Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group (SWOG/ECOG) in the prognosis of AML Methods The chromosome was prepared with brief culture of bone marrow, and the karyotype was analysed by G banding technique. All the patients were grouped according to the criterion of SWOG/ECOG, and the survival function of different groups was observed by the Kaplan-Meier method. Results 56 (67.47 %) out of 83 patients had clonal chromosome aberrations. Among those 56 patients, AML with translocation (15;17) and with translocation (8;21) presented in 30 patients(53.57 %), and the other kinds of aberrational karyotypes shared the left proportion. Among the 74 followed-up patients, 42 patients were dead. Among three groups with favorable, intermediate and adverse prognosis respectively, there is a significant difference (P <0.001). The complete remission rate of favorable group is higher than that of both intermediate and adverse (P <0.05). There is no difference between intermediate and adverse groups(P>0.05). Conclusion Cytogenetic aberration is one of the important factors affecting the effect on prognosis. The criterion of SWOG/ECOG can predict prognosis objectively.
