Chinese Journal of Health Policy 2016;9(1):45-51
Health is one of the essential ties between China and Africa. As the Chinese economy is experien-cing rapid development and the strategic transformation, the China-Africa cooperation is entering the era of communi-tas in all directions and the health-related aids and exchanges between China and Africa are experiencing new oppor-tunities and challenges. Previously, the China-Africa health cooperation has experienced three transitional stages from the assistance, collaboration and communitas. During the current global fight against Ebola outbreak period, while the world feared and wondered the Ebola in the beginning, China’s fast action on the fight had showed that not only the relationship between China and Africa is seen from the previous health aid legacy to Africa, but also is coming to the economic development communitas stage. Moreover, there are two essential government and non-government col-laboration established between China and Africa. So, when we analyze the fast action of China towards Ebola out-break, it is clearly shown that the China’s response is based in the perspective of humanitarian, super state accounta-ble responsibilities, and also focused on health system resilience in the epidemic countries. China and Africa are stepping into the economic development communitas stage. Therefore, this change of cooperation reflects the change of China’s position in the global health governance.

Chinese Journal of Clinical Oncology 2016;43(11):457-463
Recent advancements on interventional molecular imaging aimed to further complement the advantages of two imaging fields, namely, interventional radiology and molecular imaging. Interventional molecular imaging significantly improved the early diag-nosis of cancer, local treatment, and monitoring of tumor treatments. Interventional radiology has continuously extended the capabili-ties of the currently available molecular imaging techniques to (i) obtain deep-seated targets;(ii) thoroughly examine small targets;(iii) precisely guide the delivery of non-targeted imaging tracers or therapeutics;and (iv) selectively enhance the effectiveness of targeted imaging and treatment with high accuracy. Molecular imaging has been used to guide interventional therapies and assess the thera-peutic efficacies of medical interventions. The continuous efforts on interventional molecular imaging extend molecular imaging from benches or small animal laboratories to large animal suites and ultimately to certain clinical applications in humans and enhance the diagnosis and treatment of cancer.

Journal of Applied Clinical Pediatrics 1993;0(03):-
Objective To study the expression of BMI-l gene in children with acute leukemia and its clinical significance. Methods The clinical specimens of 46 children with acute leukemia who were diagnosed lately in the Third Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University and other hospitals in Zhengzhou from Jul.1,2008 to Apr.30,2009 were collected, while peripheral blood specimens of 30 healthy children were collected as control group. With the guardians′ informed consent, the experiment was approved through the hospital ethics committee. The level of BMI-1 mRNA′s expression was tested using reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR),while data were analyzed through the application of SPSS 12.0 statistical software. Results 1.The level of BMI-l gene′s expression in children with acute leukemia was significantly higher than that in control group(P0.05),after complete remission,BMI-1 mRNA was not detected in the 2 groups;4.Compared with the complete remission group, expression of BMI-1 mRNA in the untreated group and the recurrence group was significantly higher(P0.05).Conclusions BMI-1 gene was highly expressed in children with acute leukemia, and the level of the gene expression in patients of complete remission normalized, which suggests that the gene may be involved in the occurrence and the development process of leukemia;therefore,it is possible to regard the gene as a molecular marker to evaluate the development, relapse and prognosis of the patients with acute leukemia.

Chinese Journal of Gastroenterology 2014;(9):554-556
Background:The incidence of duodenal Brunner’s gland hyperplasia is low and the etiology and pathogenesis has not yet been clarified. Aims:To investigate the relationship between duodenal Brunner’s gland hyperplasia and Helicobacter pylori( Hp ) infection. Methods:A total of 96 patients with duodenal Brunner ’s gland hyperplasia diagnosed by pathological examination from October 2005 to December 2013 at People’s Hospital of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region were enrolled in this study, and 270 cases without duodenal Brunner’s gland hyperplasia were served as controls. Hp infection was detected by 14 C-urea breath test( 14 C-UBT). The relationship between duodenal Brunner’s gland hyperplasia and Hp infection was analyzed. Results:In the duodenal Brunner ’s gland hyperplasia group,75 patients were Hp positive, the proportion of Hp infection was 3. 57( 75/21 ). In the control group,110 cases were Hp positive, the proportion of Hp infection was 1. 45(160/110). The difference between the two groups was statistically significant(χ2 =10. 97,P=0. 001). Hp infection was a risk factor of the genesis of duodenal Brunner’s gland hyperplasia( OR=2. 46, 95% CI:1. 44-4. 19). Conclusions:Hp infection may be related with the genesis of duodenal Brunner’s gland hyperplasia.

Objective To report a case presented with atypical clinical and radiological appearance in the early stage and finally pathologically confirmed as chronic lymphocytic inflammation with pontine perivascular enhancement responsive to steroids ( CLIPPERS) , aiming to improve the understanding of the disorder. Methods The clinical, imaging, laboratory and pathological features as well as treatment and prognosis of a pathologically confirmed CLIPPERS patient with repeated relapsing-remitting course and stepwise progression in nine years were retrospectively analyzed. Results There were five relapsing-remitting processes in total clinical course of nine years. The clinical and radiological appearance was atypical in the early stage. At the first attack, the patient presented with fever, headache, altered consciousness and epileptic seizure. In the following courses, the patient presented with ataxia, blurred vision and limb weakness. Brain MRI (2006-2009) showed multiple abnormal signals including supratentorial white matter, pons and cerebellum with patchy gadolinium enhancement. Treatment with steroids resulted in a favorable clinical and radiological improvement. The symptoms of this attack included limb weakness, blurred vision, dysdipsia and dysarthria. Physical examination showed cognitive dysfunction, multiple cranial nerves injuries and bilateral pyramidal signs. Brain MRI showed multiple abnormal signals involved pons and cerebellum predominantly as well as supratentorial white matter with punctate gadolinium enhancement peppering the pons and cerebellum. A characteristic predominantly T lymphocytic perivascular infiltration was seen on brain biopsy. Both the imaging and histological findings were consistent with the CLIPPERS features. High-dose steroids treatment was given and obvious clinical and radiological improvements were observed. After discharge, steroids were reduced slowly combined with the use of immunosuppressant to avoid relapse of the disorder. Conclusions There is heterogeneity in clinical manifestations of CLIPPERS with repeated relapsing-remitting course and imaging presentations are sometimes atypical in the early stage, which leads to the misdiagonsis and missed diagnosis. Distinctive pathology is the “gold standard” for definite diagnosis. The nosological position of CLIPPERS is still unclear. Repeated relapse-remitting leads to secondary cerebral atrophy and degeneration, with the risk of progressing to primary central nervous system lymphoma. Early and vigorous steroids treatment with continuing maintenance immunotherapy results in the decreased relapse and best long-term prognosis. The neurologist should strengthen the understanding of CLIPPERS for early correct diagnosis and treatment aiming to reduce the functional disability.
