1.Effect of femoral offset on hip joint function reconstruction after arthroplasty in femoral neck fractures
Chinese Journal of Orthopaedic Trauma 2008;10(8):711-714
Objective To study the effect of femoral offset reconstruction ON the Harris hip score and the hip ROM (range of motion) after artificial hip replacement in femoral neck fractures. Methods Follow-ups were conducted for 47 patients who had undergone artificial hip replacements for their unilateral femoral neck fractures. We took X-ray pictures to compare the femoral offsets at the affected and unaffected hips. The operated hips were evaluated by the Harris hip score. Statistical analyses were performed with SPSS l2.0 software. Results The Harris hip score of the operated hip was positively related to femoral offset reconstruction(t=7.25,P<0.001).There was a significant and positive correlation between femoral offset and the hip abductor ROM(r=0.80,P<0.001).The rate of femoral offset reconstruction had no significant difference between total hip arthroplasty and bipolar hip arthroplasty (χ2=0,P>0.05).Conclusions Reconstruction of femoral offset after artificial hip replacement in the femoral neck fractures can improve funetional recovery and ROM of the hip. Femoral offset reconstruction is uncorrelated to the selection of total hip arthroplasty or bipolar hip arthroplasty.
2.Advances of death-associated protein kinase in tumor
International Journal of Surgery 2008;35(8):559-561
Death-associated protein kinase (DAPK) is a muhidomain calcium/calmodulin (CaM)-de- pendent Ser/Thr protein kinase with an important role in apoptosis regulation and tumor suppression. DAPK may serve as a diagnostic and prognostic tool to evaluate disease severity, progression, metastatic rate, and re- currence, and may serve as a target for therapeutic intervention.
3.A comparative study of wire and divider methods applied in orthodontic dental model measurement
Journal of Practical Stomatology 2001;0(03):-
Objective:To compare the difference between the measurement methods of wire and divider applied in the measurement of arch length at orthodontic dental model analysis.Methods:80 pairs of dental models were selected, including 40 normal occlusion models and 40 crowded models. The arch length of every model was measured by the wire and divider methods respectively, and the casual error and paired t test was subsequently employed to compare the difference between the measurements data. Results:The variance coefficients of the dental lengths measured by the divider method was larger than those measured by the wire method in both crowding and normal occlusion(P

Chinese Journal of Experimental Ophthalmology 2012;(11):961-964
Neovascular age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is the main cause of vision loss in AMD patient. Now,the application of anti-vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) has become the preferred therapy for the treatment of neovascular AMD,and it has been proved to improve the visual acuity and reduce the blindness rate. But the formation of choroidal neovascularization (CNV) in AMD is a comprehensive and integrated pathological process. It is difficult to cure the CNV with only anti-VEGF drug for all the neovascular AMD patients. Therefore, the targeting drugs toward other signal pathway associated with CNV are being in different phases of clinical trials.Resent years, with the development of science and technology, small interference RNA(siRNA) and genome technology has been applied to treat neovascular AMD and show a potential prospect, and gene therapy and stem cell therapy are the most remarkable and predominant ways for AMD.Doubtlessly, these therapies offer novel choice for the management of neovascular AMD.

Chinese Journal of Emergency Medicine 2005;14(7):535-540
Objective To test the role of a bioartificial kidney which consisted of a continuous vein-vein hemofiltration (CVVH) system and renal proximal tubule cells (PTCs)device, also called the renal tubule assist device (RAD),in endotoxin shock. Methods Female crossbred pigs 25 to 30 kg received with 3×1011 bacteria / kg body weight of E.coli intraperitoneally followed by treatment with a sham RAD without cells (n=7) or a RAD with cells (n=7). Data on blood pressure, cardiac output, renal blood flow and systemic marker of inflammation (IL-6) were measured. Results Cardiac outputs and renal blood flows were higher in the RAD group with cells than in the sham RAD group after E.coli infusion (P<0.05). Plasma IL-6 levels were lower in the cell RAD group than in the sham RAD group after bacterial administration (P<0.05). A significant difference on survival time was also observed between the two groups,with(9.07 ± 0.88) h in the cell RAD group vs. (5.10 ± 0.46)h in the sham RAD group, P< 0.01.Conclusion The bioartificial kidney containing PTCs can improve cardiovascular function, reduce cytokine levels, and prolong survival time.

AIM: Anterior cervical discectomy and Cage bone graft fusion followed by steel plate internal fixation can decompress the vertebral canal and then spinal cord in patients with multilevel cervical spondylotic myelopathy. Complete decompression is very important for such patients. This study is to investigate the effect of this technique on reconstruction of spinal function.METHODS:①Thirty-eight inpatients with multilevel cervical spondylotic myelopathy admitted to Department of Spine Surgery, Tianjin Hospital between April 2003 and February 2006 were involved in this study. The involved patients, 35 male and 3 female, were aged 43-72 years, with disease course of 0.5 to 5 years. Informed consents of therapeutic regimen were obtained from all the patients.②All the patients underwent anterior cervical discectomy and cage placement operation. The patients with destabilized combination underwent titanium-plate fixation, and those with stabilized combination underwent cage implantation alone. The cage used in the experiment was made of tetragonal polyether ether ketone (Intromed Company), and titatium-plate was Zephir plate (sofarmor Danek Company). The elastic modulus of tetragonal polyether ether ketone Cage was similar to bone tissue and could allow X-ray pass through, which was easy for postoperative fusion of implanted bone. The outer design of Cage bone graft with certain angle could allow cervical physiological antecurvature well recover; Surface radian was the same as end plate, and good fitness contributed to the good fusion rate of bone graft; The sawtooth antiskid design on the surface provided good stability immediately after implantation; Elastic modulus was between os integumentale and cancellous bone that made stress-shielding and subsidence of fusion cage reduced, and had good anticausticity and biocompatibility. ③ The clinical results were evaluated with Japanese Orthopaedic. Association (JOA) scoring system before, 2,8 and 24 weeks after operation: upper limb motor function (4 points), lower limb motor function (4 points), sensation (6 points) and bladder function (3 points). Higher scores indicated better function. Postoperatively, body examination and X-ray and MRI scanning of anteroposterior cervical vertebra were performed.RESULTS: Thirty-eight patients with multilevel cervical spondylotic myelopathy participated in the final analysis. Within postoperative several days, nervous symptoms improved obviously, muscle strength of lower limb was increased, limbs were more flexible after operation than before operation, and paresthesia of two upper limbs recovered in 38 patients. JOA was a score of (9.25±1.85) before operation, and it was (12.4±2.08) at postoperative 2 weeks, (13.2±2.07) at postoperative 8 weeks and (13.8±1.67) at postoperative 24 weeks.CONCLUSION: Multilevel discectomy and Cage implantation obviously improve sensorimotor function and lessen symptoms of patients with multilevel cervical spondylotic myelopathy.
