Sturge-Weber Syndrome*

The congenital diverticulum of ventricle is a rare cardiac malformation arising from the left or right ventricle, the former being more common. Ventricular diverticulum is usually associated with other anomalies including intracardiac, midline thoracic, diaphragmatic and abdominal wall defect. The authors experienced a case of congenital diverticulum of left ventricle in nine month-old female infant. Left Blolock-Taussig shunt operation was done and total correction will be done later. Thereafter we presented a case with brief review of the related literatures.

Reye Syndrome*

A 38-year-old woman was presented with a dark brown plaque on the abdomen. Clinically, the tumor was simulating the appearance of dysplastic nevus. Microscopically, the cells of the stratum malphighii lay in a disordered pattern. Many cells in the epidermis were atypical and melanin pigment was mainly in the basal layer of the epidermis and the upper dermis. Diagnosis of pigmented Bowen's disease was made. Pigmented Bowen's disease is rarely found at body sites other than the anogenital area.

Eosinophilic folliculitis (EF) is regarded as a variant of eosinophilic pustular folliculitis (EPF), because it has a few distinctive clinical features different from those of EPF. EF is generally associated with systemic disorders, such as acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) and hematologic malignancies. We have recently experienced a case of EF occurring in a 40 year-old male patient treated with allogenic bone marrow transplantation (BMT) for acute myelogenous leukemia(AML) and achieved a good clinical outcome after a short course of systemic corticosteroid therapy. The immunologic aberration resulting from systemic diseases may play a role in the development of EF.
