Objective To investigate the prevalence of metabolic syndrome (MS) among residents in Shuimogou district of Urumqi city and to compare the differences between the Uygur and Han Populations. Methods Adopting cluster sampling, a survey of diabetes mellitus was conducted in Shuimogou district in June, 2008. Data of total 2420 subjects aged over 18 years with complete data, including background information of each individual, blood pressure, lipid profile, blood glucose and so on, were analyzed in this study. The criterion of the China Diabetes society (CDS) in 2004 was applied for diagnosis. Results The crude prevalence rates of MS were 12.85% in total, 14.91% in male and 7.39% in female, respectively. The age-standardized prevalence rates of MS were 9.93% in total, 13.58% in male and 6.11% in female. The prevalence rates of MS in male was higher than that in female (P0.05). The prevalence rates of components of MS were 43.31% for obesity, 30.08% for hypertension, 25.79% for hypertriglyceridemia and 16.28 % for hyperglycosemia. Among the four factors above, there were about 65% subjects who had at lest one abnormal factor according to the CDS criterion. Conclusion There were no differences in the prevalence rates of MS between the Uygur and Han populations. However, the prevalence rate of MS in male was higher than that in female. More than half subjects had at least one abnormal metabolic factor.

The study of quality control of Chinese medicine has always been the hot and the difficulty spot of the development of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), which is also one of the key problems restricting the modernization and internationalization of Chinese medicine. Multivariate statistical analysis is an analytical method which is suitable for the analysis of characteristics of TCM. It has been used widely in the study of quality control of TCM. Multivariate Statistical analysis was used for multivariate indicators and variables that appeared in the study of quality control and had certain correlation between each other, to find out the hidden law or the relationship between the data can be found,.which could apply to serve the decision-making and realize the effective quality evaluation of TCM. In this paper, the application of multivariate statistical analysis in the quality control of Chinese medicine was summarized, which could provided the basis for its further study.

Background and purpose:Thyroglobulin antibody (TgAb) is often positive in papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) patients. This study aimed to investigate the effect of TgAb on radioiodine ablation efficacy in PTC patients.Methods:A total number of 329 PTC patients with no distant metastasis were included and classified into 2 groups[G1 group (>115 U/mL,n=84) and G2 group (<115 U/mL,n=245)], G2 group was further divided into 2 subgroups[S1 (>40 U/mL,n=31) and S2 (<40 U/mL,n=214)], before131I ablation. The median follow-up time was 24 months after a total or subtotal thyroidectomy and subsequent131I ablation. The efficacy in terms of131I ablation success rates (IBR) between two groups were compared and the influencing factors were analyzed according to criteria posed by 2015 American Thyroid Association Guidelines, then the effect of131I dose on IBR was also explored.Results:Female and younger age were more prevalent in patients with high TgAb (P<0.05). The G1 group presented lower IBR over the G2 group (35.7%vs 72.7%,P=0.000). Moreover, S1 group also presented lower IBR over S2 group (54.8%vs 75.2%,P=0.017), indicating the adverse effect from high titer TgAb on IBR. No matter high or low dose, the G1 group presented lower IBR (34.1%vs 71.9%, 37.2%vs 73.2%;P=0.000). However, IBR did not differ in G1 or G2 group either with high or low dose131I (P>0.05). TgAb was the only adverse indicator correlating with IBR in multi-logistic regression analysis (P=0.018).Conclusion:TgAb could negatively affect131I ablation efficacy, while increasing the dose of131I failed to improve the success rate in such cases.

The ubiquitin-proteasome pathway is one of important pathways during selective protein degradation,which participates in many intracellular physiological and biochemical processes.Bortezomib,a kind of proteasome inhibitor,can inhibit cell growth and proliferation,induce cell apoptosis and overcome drug resistance in chemotherapy.The mechanisms of bortezomib on the therapy of multiple myeloma are reviewed in this paper.

Objective To investigate the clinical, electrophysiological and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) characteristics of Hirayama disease. Methods 12 cases with Hirayama Disease were analyzed retrospectively. Results and Conclusion All the patients were male, onset at adolescence, with muscle weakness and atrophy on one or two upper limbs, but without sensory disorder or pyramidal sign. The EMG showed neurogenic abnormalities in the areas dominated by C7-T1 nerve in all the patients. Cervical cord MRI found slight atrophy of lower cervical cord in 3 cases in routine position，compressed and displacement forward in flexion position in 12 cases，with posterior epidural space widening，lunular or striped high signal and voids of vessel in some patients. Enhancement scanning in 4 cases showed lunular sign enhanced. Biceps muscles biopsies were performed in 3 cases, the pathology Results appear neuropathic change in 1 cases, another 2 cases were normal.

A large number of cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) in tumor tissues create a favorable environment for the development of tumor. CAFs inhibit immune cells activation and viability by cytokine secretion, and CAFs prohibit drugs and immune cells infiltration by producing extracellular matrix to weaken cancer treatment efficacy. Regulating CAFs or overcoming CAFs barriers are new strategies for cancer therapy. Hence, designing nano-carriers for regulating CAFs to suppress tumor progression or promoting drug delivery to tumor site by overcoming CAFs barriers has attracted much attention. Therefore, this manuscript reviewed the recent progresses of nano-carriers for CAFs-targeting cancer therapies, in order to provide a reference for clinical cancer treatment.

Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy of acupuncture plus bloodletting therapy in treating insomnia in people with blood stasis constitution. Methods: Seventy-two patients were randomized into a treatment group and a control group by using the random number table, 36 cases each. The treatment group received acupuncture plus bloodletting therapy, while the control group was intervened by oral administration of estazolam. One-week treatment was taken as a course, for 3 successive courses in total. A follow-up study was conducted 3 months later. The Pittsburgh sleep quality index (PSQI) was evaluated before and after the intervention, as well as in the follow-up. The clinical efficacies were also compared. Results: The total effective rate was 88.9% in the treatment group versus 83.3% in the control group, and the between-group difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). After the intervention, the PSQI scores dropped significantly in both groups (both P<0.05); the between-group difference in PSQI score was statistically significant (P<0.05). The follow-up study showed that the between-group difference in the global score of PSQI was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion: Acupuncture plus bloodletting therapy can produce a more significant efficacy than oral administration of estazolam in treating insomnia in people with blood stasis constitution.

Objective To analyze clinical common pathogenic bacteria distribution of neonatal sepsis and antimicrobial resistance ,in order to provide theoretical basis for clinical rational use of antibiotics .Methods 342 cases of neonatal sepsis were selected as the research objects ,through the case control study ,specimens were collected retro-spectively the clinical data and blood culture ,to understand the pathogenic bacteria children with neonatal septicemia culture,To understand the pathogenic bacteria in children with neonatal septicemia culture .Distribution and drug resistance of pathogenic bacteria were analyzed .Results 342 cases of neonatal septicemia infection rate was 5.4%, among the 136 cases of preterm infants with sepsis ,infection rate is 10.9%,206 cases of full-term infants with sep-sis,infection rate was 4.0%, Septicemia in premature infants infection than full -term sepsis (χ2 =88.07, P <0.01);No significant difference of septicemia in premature infants and full -term infants septicemia pathogen strain distribution(P>0.05).Coagulase negative Staphylococcus aureus and Staphylococcus aureus resistant to penicillin , drug resistance rates were 97.1% and 87.5%,secondly to erythromycin resistance ,respectively were 86.9% and 75.0%;Three kinds of common gram negative bacteria were sensitive toimipenem ,resistance to ampicillin and cefazo-lin,drug resistance rate was 100.0%,the second was piperacillin ,cefepime,cefotaxime and ceftazidime .Conclusion Neonatal septicemia of gram positive bacteria mainly coagulase negative Staphylococcus aureus and Staphylococcus aureus,gram negative bacteria mainly in grams of Klebsiella pneumoniae , Escherichia coli and Escherichia coli . Common pathogenic bacteria with drug resistance .Clinical treatment of neonatal sepsis should be rational use of anti -biotics,to strengthen the monitoring of drug resistance .

Objective Cardiovascular diseases comorbid with mental disturbances are described as psycho-cardiology diseases, which have been paid attention increasingly. The aim of this study is to summarize and analyze the findings about the study of psycho-cardiology over a year , and to obtain the baseline data of psycho-ca rdiology diseases in inpatients of cardiology department. Methods Subjects in this study were inpatients of cardiology department in the First Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University in the past 21 months. The demographic and clinical data of the inpatients were collected. Anxiety and depression were evaluated by the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale. The prevalence of anxiety and depression in patients with various cardiovascular diseases were calculated respectively. To detect the potential risk factors of anxiety or depression, two logistic regression models were established. Results The prevalence of anxiety, depression, anxiety and/or depression, and anxiety comorbid with depression was 38.6%, 12.4%, 51.0%, and 7.9%,respectively. The prevalence of depression in patients with chronic heart failure was 24.6%, which was higher than the general level and that of patients with other cardiovascular diseases. The prevalence of anxiety in patients with acute myocardial infarction, arrhythmia, and hypertension ranged from 39.6% to 41.7%. The long course of diseases, multiple diseases, and the history of cardiac interventional operation were the common risk factors for anxiety and depression. Conclusion Anxiety and depression are common in patients with cardiovascular diseases. Cardiologists should take mental disturbances seriously, and pay more attention to the patients with above risk factors.
