4.Inhibition of p38 MAPK kinase enhances diallyl disulfide-induced apoptosis in human CNE2 cells
Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 1986;0(04):-
AIM To investigate the effects of p38 MAPK signaling on diallyl disulfide ( DADS ) induced apoptosis in CNE2 cells. METHODS Morphological changes and quantification of apoptotic cells were determined under fluorescence microscope after a 24 h treatment of CNE2 by DADS. Cell viability was determined with MTT method. Apoptosis detection was taken to the cells on flowcytometry. The expression of phospho p38 MAPK was measured by Western blotting. RESULTS After treatment with DADS at 50~150 ?mol?L -1 for 24 h,DADS elicited typical apoptotic morphologic changes (chromatic condensation, nucleus fragmentation). The amount of apoptosis cells increased in a concentration dependent manner but cell cycle arrest did not at 50~150 ?mol?L -1 ,incubation of CNE2 with DADS for 24 h also induced phospho p38 MAPK expression in a concentration dependent manner. Interestingly, DADS induced apoptosis was markedly increased by preincubation with SB203580, a specific p38 MAPK inhibitor, and increased the expression of phospho p42/ p44 CCDPK in a concentration dependent manner. CONCLUSION DADS activates p38 MAPK,and phospho p38 MAPK signaling appears to play protective roles in DADS induced apoptosis in CNE2.
5.Effect and compliance of cetirizine hydrochloride and pranoprofen eye drops on children with vernal keratoconjunctivitis
International Eye Science 2016;16(10):1898-1901
AIM: To observe the efficacy and compliance of cetirizine hydrochloride and pranoprofen eye drops on children with vernal keratoconjunctivitis.
● METHODS: A total of 63 children with vernal keratoconjunctivitis, from the outpatient department in our hospital between Jan. 2014 and Dec. 2015, were randomly divided into two groups including experimental group and control group. The cases in experimental group were treated with cetirizine hydrochloride, 2 times/d, 5 drops (0. 25ml, 2. 5mg) each time (≤6 years) or 10 drops (0. 5ml, 5mg) each time (>6 years), oral or oral with beverage and food, 1g/L pranoprofen eye drops, 4 times/d, 1 drop each time. The cases in control group were only treated with cetirizine hydrochloride, 2 times /d, 5 drops (0. 25ml, 2. 5mg) each time (≤6 years) or 10 drops (0. 5ml, 5mg) each time (>6 years), oral or oral with beverage and food for 14d. All the children were detected the scores of symptom and pathology before and after treatment. Compliance and side effect of the drug were surveyed by questionnaire.
● RESULTS: The scores of symptom, pathology and overall total after treatment were significantly lower than those before treatment in each group ( texperimental, symptom =10. 41, P < 0. 05; texperimental, pathology = 10. 05, P < 0. 05;texperimental, overal =10. 75, P<0. 05;tcontrol, symptom=8. 11, P<0. 05;tcontrol, pathology=8. 89, P<0. 05; tcontrol, overal =8. 41, P<0. 05). The scores of symptom, pathology and overall total in experimental group were lower than those in control group after the treatment (tsymptom=5. 27, P<0. 05; tpathology=3. 97, P<0. 05;toveral =4. 32, P<0. 05). The effective rate of experimental group ( 85%) was significantly higher than control group (60%) (χ2 =4. 92, P<0. 05). Most of the children ( 94%) had very good compliance. None of children had side effect such as sleepiness and thirst.
● CONCLUSION: Cetirizine hydrochloride and pranoprofen eye drops in combination may offer a safety and effective treatment on children with vernal keratoconjunctivitis and have good compliance.

International Eye Science 2008;8(1):16-19
Diabetic retinopathy is one of the most common and serious microvascular complications of diabetes, and it is a very complex pathological process, displaying multi-factor, multi-stage characteristic in the outcome. Recent studies have shown that the pathogenesis of diabetic retinopathy is closely related to oxidative stress, and antioxidant therapy can effectively improve the condition. Heme oxygenase-1(HO-1)is a widely existing antioxidant defense enzyme, which can reduce the injury caused by oxidative stress and plays an important physiological role. Studies have indicated that in retina HO-1 can be highly induced by hyperglycemia. Moreover, the expression level of HO-1 by man-made changes can accelerate or postpone the diseases progression. That means HO-1 for the diagnosis and treatment of diabetic retinopathy has satisfactory applied foreground. In this article we would like to review the role of HO-1 in diabetic retinopathy.
8.Clinical analysis of 76 cases of gastric stump cancer after subtotal gastrectomy
Journal of Shanghai Jiaotong University(Medical Science) 2006;0(07):-
Objective To observe the treatment and outcomes of gastric stump cancer(GSC) after subtotal gastrectomy, and to analyse the possible related factors for the development of GSC. Methods The clinical data of 693 patients with subtotal gastrectomy were retrospectively analysed. The development, treatment and outcomes of GSC were observed, and the possible factors associated with the development of GSC were analysed. Results Seventy-six cases of GSC emerged in the 693 patients with subtotal gastrectomy.Fifty-one of the 76 cases were perfomed radical operations(n=36) or palliative resection(n=15).No death was found during the perioperative period, and the median survival time was 32.7 and 14.2 months, respectively. Those 25 without surgical management died 3 to 11 months after the development of GSC.Among the 76 cases with GSC,stomach was found as the original site of ulcer in 59(22.3%,59/259),and duodenal bulb in the other 17(3.9%,17/434)(P

Academic Journal of Second Military Medical University 1985;0(05):-
Objective:To examine whether the thyroxine treatment can affect the serum lipid levels in patients with subclinical hypothyroidism by Meta analysis. Methods:Pubmed and China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI)were searched for randomized controlled trials reporting the effectiveness of thyroxine treatment on serum lipid levels in subclinical hypothyroidism patients from January 1980 to September 2006;hand-search was also performed. The included trails were analyzed by RevMan4.2 software. Results:Six studies were finally included and five of them found thyroxine to be significantly more effective than placebo in improving the serum lipid disorders;one of them found thyroxine had no obvious effect. The pooled effect sizes(95%CI)of total cholesterol(TC),triglyceride(TG),low density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C),high density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C),apoprotein A(ApoA),apoprotein B(ApoB)and lipoprotein a(Lp(a))were -0.39(-0.71, -0.07),-0.02(-0.07,0.04),-0.02(-0.06,0.03),-0.22(-0.31,-0.12),-0.08(-0.11,-0.06),-0.05(-0.08, -0.02),and -0.38(-2.41,1.64),respectively.The analysis results showed that thyroxine treatment was significantly effective on serum levels of TC,LDL-C,ApoA,and ApoB,but not on TG,HDL-C,or Lp(a).Conclusion:This Meta-analysis demonstrates that thyroxine treatment can improve thyroid function and lipid metabolism in patients with subclinical hypothyroidism, reducing the prevalence of artherosclerosis and coronary heart disease.
10.Research Progress in Microbiol Removal of Sulfur Dioxide
Microbiology 1992;0(03):-
SO2 is one of the main pollutants in the air. Tradational disposal methods are limited in the industrial application owing to their high cost. Some foreign scholars began to research in microbial treatment of SO2 both in laboratory test and in full-scale test in recent years and good results were achieved. This method can significantly lowering costs and acquire sulfur product and microbial biomass protein of high quality. The microbial method which is simple, effect and of low costs can satisfy needs of industry and give attention to environmental, economical and social benefits, therefore, it will have amplitude and well application prospects.
