Against the background of the current shift of focus from general English to ESP(English for Specific Purposes) in college English teaching,this paper analyses the relations between some key factors in medical English teaching,such as medical English vs.general English,medical English vs.bilingual teaching,English teachers vs.medical teachers.It also puts forward some suggestions on the proper handling of these relations.

[Objective]To study the influence of hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose(HPMC) on injectability of calcium phosphate cements(CPC).[Method]Calcium phosphate cement(ICPC) with different content of HPMC(0～4%) was prepared.Injectability coefficient and consistency were tested to evaluate the injectability of the cements.[Result]Injectability increased as HPMC content increased.CPC injectability coefficient reached to 95% with lowest consistency when HPMC increased to 2%.CPC with 2% HPMC could be injected from syringe completely.Injectability began decrease when HPMC beyond 3%.Injectability decreased to 90% as HPMC increased to 4%,2% HPMC increased the injectability and decreased the consistency significantly,without any influence of setting time.[Conclusion]Rheology and injectability of CPC can be improved by HPMC significantly,Injection of CPC with 2% HPMC can be used for mini-invasive orthopedic surgery.

AIM: Anterior cervical discectomy and Cage bone graft fusion followed by steel plate internal fixation can decompress the vertebral canal and then spinal cord in patients with multilevel cervical spondylotic myelopathy. Complete decompression is very important for such patients. This study is to investigate the effect of this technique on reconstruction of spinal function.METHODS:①Thirty-eight inpatients with multilevel cervical spondylotic myelopathy admitted to Department of Spine Surgery, Tianjin Hospital between April 2003 and February 2006 were involved in this study. The involved patients, 35 male and 3 female, were aged 43-72 years, with disease course of 0.5 to 5 years. Informed consents of therapeutic regimen were obtained from all the patients.②All the patients underwent anterior cervical discectomy and cage placement operation. The patients with destabilized combination underwent titanium-plate fixation, and those with stabilized combination underwent cage implantation alone. The cage used in the experiment was made of tetragonal polyether ether ketone (Intromed Company), and titatium-plate was Zephir plate (sofarmor Danek Company). The elastic modulus of tetragonal polyether ether ketone Cage was similar to bone tissue and could allow X-ray pass through, which was easy for postoperative fusion of implanted bone. The outer design of Cage bone graft with certain angle could allow cervical physiological antecurvature well recover; Surface radian was the same as end plate, and good fitness contributed to the good fusion rate of bone graft; The sawtooth antiskid design on the surface provided good stability immediately after implantation; Elastic modulus was between os integumentale and cancellous bone that made stress-shielding and subsidence of fusion cage reduced, and had good anticausticity and biocompatibility. ③ The clinical results were evaluated with Japanese Orthopaedic. Association (JOA) scoring system before, 2,8 and 24 weeks after operation: upper limb motor function (4 points), lower limb motor function (4 points), sensation (6 points) and bladder function (3 points). Higher scores indicated better function. Postoperatively, body examination and X-ray and MRI scanning of anteroposterior cervical vertebra were performed.RESULTS: Thirty-eight patients with multilevel cervical spondylotic myelopathy participated in the final analysis. Within postoperative several days, nervous symptoms improved obviously, muscle strength of lower limb was increased, limbs were more flexible after operation than before operation, and paresthesia of two upper limbs recovered in 38 patients. JOA was a score of (9.25±1.85) before operation, and it was (12.4±2.08) at postoperative 2 weeks, (13.2±2.07) at postoperative 8 weeks and (13.8±1.67) at postoperative 24 weeks.CONCLUSION: Multilevel discectomy and Cage implantation obviously improve sensorimotor function and lessen symptoms of patients with multilevel cervical spondylotic myelopathy.

OBJECTIVE:To explore the effects of recombinant adenovirus vector Adxsi-GFP-VP3 carrying apoptin gene VP3 on the apoptosis of human lung squamous carcinoma SK-MES-1 cell lines and human lung adenocarcinoma NCI-H1299 cell lines. METHODS:The exponential phase SK-MES-1 and NCI-H1299 cell lines were respectively divided into a recombinant adenovirus (Adxsi-GFP-VP3) group,a empty virus (Adxsi-GFP) group and a cell control (phosphate buffer) group,which were marked as group A,B and C respectively. Reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction and Western blot method were used to detect the ex-pressions of VP3 mRNA and Apoptin in the cells of groups A and B 48 and 72 h after transfection. The change in the ultrastructure of the cells in group A was observed under transmission electron microscope 72 h thereafter. MTT method was adopted to detect the cell proliferation activities of three groups 24,48,72 and 96 h thereafter and flow cytometry to determine the apoptosis rates and cell cycle changes 24,48 and 72 h thereafter. RESULTS:Compared to group B,group A demonstrated the expression of VP3 mRNA in SK-MES-1 and NCI-H1299 cell lines 48 h after transfection,and Apoptin expression and ultrastructure change for apopto-sis of SK-MES-1 and NCI-H1299 cell lines 72 h thereafter. Compared to groups B and C,group A showed lower proliferation activ-ities and higher apoptosis rates of SK-MES-1 and NCI-H1299 cell lines,which had a positive correlation with transfection time;and in the group A,there was a decrease in the proportion of the SK-MES-1 and NCI-H1299 cell lines in S phase and an increase in the proportion of those in G2/M phase,72 h after transfection. There was statistically difference (P<0.05). CONCLUSIONS:Adxsi-GFP-VP3 can effectively induce the apoptosis of SK-MES-1 and NCI-H1299 cell lines.

Objective To investigate the relationship between the changes of serum total bilirubin(TBil) and hybrid muscle crea-tine kinase isozyme(CK-MB),and its clinical implication in neonates with hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE). Methods The levels of TBil and CK - MB were measured in 49 neonates with HIE (15 mild cases, 20 moderate cases and 14 serious cases), and 31 normal neonates on the first day and the fourth day after birth. Objective To evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of high-dose Ambroxol in treatment of acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (AECOPD). Methods Retrieved from PubMed, EMbase, Cochrane Library, CNKI, VIP and WanFang databases by computer, randomized controlled trials (RCTs) about high-dose of Ambroxol in treatment of AECOPD were included. According to the inclusive and exclusive criteria, literatures and data were independently screened and extracted by two researchers, and the quality of the studies were assessed, Meta-analysis was conducted by RevMan 5.2 software. Results A total of 7 RCTs were included, involving 534 patients. Meta-analysis showed that experiment group can obviously improve the overall effective rate [OR = 4.11, 95%CI (2.31, 2.31), P < 0.000 01), shorten hospital stays(OR = 3.60, 95% CI (4.66, 2.55), P < 0.00001), compared with the control group was statistically difference, and no obvious adverse reactions. Conclusion High-dose of Ambroxol could improve AECOPD overall effective rate, shorten hospital stays, improve pulmonary function and blood gas analysis, and no serious adverse reactions, be worth clinical promote using.

Objective: To investigate the expression of vasculogenic mimicry (VM) in endometrial carcinoma tissues and its rela-tionship with the clinicopathologic features and prognosis of the disease. Methods: A total of 267 paraffin-embedded endometrial carci-noma specimens of patients with complete follow-up data were collected from the Shijiazhuang Bethune International Peace Hospital between January 2005 and June 2014. CD31-PAS dual staining was performed to identify the VM structure. Tissue samples were then divided into VM-positive and VM-negative groups. CD133 expression was detected by immunohistochemical streptavidin peroxidase method. Results: Among the 267 endometrial carcinoma patients, 65 cases (24.3%) were VM positive. VM formation was closely corre-lated with the International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics Staging (χ2=9.987, P=0.002), histodifferentiation grade (χ2=11.795, P=0.001), myometrial invasion depth (χ2=5.499, P=0.019), vascular cancer embolus (χ2=22.599, P<0.001), and lymph node me-tastasis (χ2=7.848, P=0.005). Kaplan-Meier survival curve analysis showed that survival time was significantly shorter in the VM-posi-tive group (median survival time was 51 months) than in the VM-negative group (median survival time was 100 months) (χ2=70.973, P<0.001). Moreover, CD133 expression was significantly higher in the VM-positive group [75.4% (49/65)] than in the VM-negative group [58.9% (119/202)] (χ2=5.720, P=0.017). Conclusion: VM is closely correlated with the pathogenesis, development, and malignancy of endometrial carcinoma. Furthermore, VM is one of the important indexes influencing the prognosis of this disease. Therefore, CD133-positive cells may contribute to VM formation.

Injectable bone substitutes can repair bone defect via percutaneous injection, including organic bone graft materials and inorganic bone graft materials. Furthermore, some materials considered as vector can composite with cells to generate tissue engineering materials, which are injected into bone graft to improve fusion rate. The development of injectable bone substitutes provides a new way to treat some relative diseases. Here, the article was divided three parts to introduce biological characteristics and clinical application of organic bone substitute materials, inorganic bone substitute materials, and bone tissue engineering vector materials. Although bone tissue engineering research achieves some effects initially, there are still a lot of problems, such as collection and preparation of extracellular matrix materials, composite and transplantation of cell and vector; all of them need to be further studied.

2% hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose (HPMC, medical grade, Taian Ruitai Cellulose Co., Ltd.) was added into calcium phosphate cement (Orthopedics Institute of General Hospital of Chinese PLA) and the mixture was put into distilled water to observe whether the surface was corrupt. Some calcium phosphate cement was immersed in water at different time and the residual cement was weighed 24 hours later. The results showed that there was no surface corruption in calcium phosphate cement with 2% HPMC after shake; the residual weight measured 24 hours later showed that 2% HPMC could shorten calcium phosphate cement cohesion time from 4 minutes to 1 minutes. The experiment indicates that 2% HPMC can significantly increase the waterproof performance of calcium phosphate cement, increase the work time and is adaptable in clinical application.
