Objective:To investigate the effects of aerobic exercise on blood glucose and insulin levels in chronic intermittent hypoxic(CIH)rats and the underlying mechanisms, and to provide new insights for the prevention and treatment of diabetes caused by CIH.Methods:SD rats were randomly divided into the blank control group, CIH control group and CIH exercise group. After adaptive feeding, a rat model of CIH was established. The CIH exercise group received non-weight bearing exercise training through swimming. After 4 weeks, all rats were sacrificed and levels of total antioxidant capacity(T-AOC), reactive oxygen species(ROS), malondialdehyde(MDA), fasting blood glucose(FPG)and fasting insulin(FINS)were measured. Results:Compared with the blank control group and CIH control group, levels of ROS, MDA, FPG, T-AOC, FINS and FPG were significantly different in the CIH exercise group( F=4.60, 5.03, 4.87, 4.52 and 6.42, P=0.021, 0.015, 0.017, 0.022 and 0.006). Compared with the blank control group, levels of ROS, MDA, FPG and FINS increased and levels of T-AOC declined in the CIH control and exercise groups(all P<0.05). Compared with the CIH control group, levels of ROS, MDA, FPG and FINS decreased and T-AOC levels increased in the CIH exercise group(all P<0.05). Conclusions:CIH increases blood glucose and insulin levels by activating the oxidative stress response.Aerobic exercise can reduce the impact of oxidative stress on blood glucose and insulin levels.

Objective: To preare recombinant lentivirus stably suppressing PLC?1 in human colorectal carcinomas Lo-Vo cells, so as to establish LoVo cell lines deficient in PLC1 and to investigate the role of this gene. Methods: Recombinant lentivirus produceing PLC-?1 siRNA were prepared. After LoVo cells were transduced with lentivirust, stably transduced cells were selected by Blasticidin. The protein and mRNA expression of PLC?1 was examined by Western-blot and RT-PCR analysis. The effect of the lentivirus on the cell proliferation and cell adhesion was analyzed by XTT method and ctll adhesion assay, respectively. Results: PLC?1 siRNA knocked down PLC?1 expression in LoVo cells obviously. The silenced efficiency of siRNA transducted by recombinant lentivirus was very high. Adhesion of human colorectal carcinomas LoVo cell Lines was significantly decreased, while proliferation was not affected. Conclusion: Our research confirm that PLC?1 plays an important role in cell adhesion of colorectal carcinomas, and provides experimental evidences for targeting PLC?1 in gene therapy against cancer.

AlM: To explore the clinical therapeutic effect of the integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine treatment of idiopathic panuveitis.
METHODS: Totally 47 patients ( 69 eyes ) with the idiopathic panuveitis were included in this study, which were randomly divided into control group and treatment group. Twenty-four cases (33 eyes) with the method of Western medicine-glucocorticoid and mydriatic were in control group, while 23 cases (36 eyes) with integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine were in treatment group. Those patients were followed up 12-36mo, the vision before and after treatment, the therapeutic effects, the complications and the side effects of glucocorticoid were recorded.
RESULTS: Both of two groups' vision after treatment were improved, but the vision of treatment group was better than the control group. The effective rate and the cure rate of the treatment group were increased significantly. Of all of the complications, the incidence rate of complicated cataract and secondary glaucoma of the treatment group were reduced significantly. Of all of the side effects of glucocorticoid, the central excitation, hypertension and central obesity of the treatment group were reduced significantly (P<0. 05).
CONCLUSlON: Dialectical therapy of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine has better therapeutic effect than simple Western medicine treatment of idiopathic panuveitis, and could better reduce the side effect of glucocorticoid long-term use. lt is worthy applying in clinical practice.
