4.Relationship between Environmental Endocrine Disruptors, Genetic Polymorphism of Related Metabolic Enzymes and Breast Cancer
Journal of Environment and Health 1992;0(02):-
Breast cancer is one of reproduction-endocrine related tumors, so the risk factors including environmental and genetic factors which can disrupt anabolism and function of estradiol may increase the risk of breast cancer. Persistent environmental endocrine disruptor chemical (EDCs) can disrupt anabolism and function of endogenous hormone and the degree of disruption may depend on genetic polymorphism. EDCs and metabolic enzyme genetic polymorphism were discussed in this paper. To study the risk factors of breast cancer, both of the environmental factors and the genetic factors should be included.
5.Progress on diagnosis and treatment of TH-gene related dopa-responsive dystonia
Chinese Journal of Applied Clinical Pediatrics 2021;36(7):555-557
Dopa-responsive dystonia(DRD) is a clinical syndrome characterized by childhood dystonia and dramatic and sustained response to low-dose levodopa.The deficiency of any link in dopamine synthesis pathway can lead to DRD that is caused by TH gene mutation and is autosomal recessive, which results in the reduction of tyrosine hydroxylase(TH) synthesis and extensive deficiency of dopamine and catecholamine.However, DRD presents atypical clinical manifestations.Mild patients mainly present with dystonia.Some of them might progressively develop into spastic paraplegia and some may have parkinsonian features.Most of them display good response to levodopa.Severe patients present with progressively complex infantile encephalopathy, and badly response to levodopa and remnant intellectual development problems.Most of them manifest with declining homovanillic acid(HVA) in cerebrospinal fluid.However, due to the noncharacteristic clinical course and nonspecific laboratory tests of TH DRD, gene detection still is the only reliable criterion of diagnosis so far.Low-dose levodopa is effective to most mild patients and can improve symptoms to severe patients to some extent.
6.Congenital High Scapula Associated with Anomaly of the Acromion: A Case Report

The Journal of the Korean Orthopaedic Association 1990;25(5):1566-1571
Congenital high scapula, more commonly referred to as Sprengel's deformity, was first described by Eulenberg in 1863. Usually other congenital anomalies are associated such as absent or fused ribs, chest wall asymmetry, Klippel-Feil syndrome, cervical ribs, congenital scoliosis, cervical spina biffida was treated with the excision of the elongated acromion and the resection of prominent elongated acromion to be described is an extremely rare malformation. We experienced one case of congenital high scapula associated with anomaly of the acromion, which was treated with the excision of the elongated acromion and the resection of prominent supermedial border of the scapula for the purpose of the cosmetic and functional correction. After 1 year follow up, abduction was improved by only 10 degrees in the glenohumeral joint with the definite cosmetic improvement.

7.A Clinical Study of the Mechanism of Injury of Juvenile Tillaux Fracture and Triplane Fracture
Jun Dong CHANG ; Jung Chang LEE
The Journal of the Korean Orthopaedic Association 1990;25(5):1377-1384
The juvenile Tillaux fracture and the triplane fracture of the distal end of the tibia in adolescents are considered uncommon injuries and the mechanism of both injuries has been uncertain. It has been postulated that both fractures probably are caused by external rotation of the foot. We atempted to evaluate the mechanism of injury as well as to conform the role of the external rotation of the foot for the juvenile Tillaux fracture and triplane fracture. From 1983 to 1988 at the department of orthopedic surgery, college of medicine, Hallym University, we evaluated the cases of nine adolescent patients with the juvenile Tillaux fracture and nine patients with the triplane fracture of the distal tibial epiphysis. We confirmed that external rotation force produced the triplane fracture as well as juvenile Tillaux fracture. And we could postulate that the triplane fracture needed further external rotation force, less closure of the distal tibial epiphysis, and more complicated mechanism of injury than the juvenile Tillaux fracture. The knowledge of these mechanism of injury enables us to use a rational manipulative approach to reduce these fractures.

8.Contamination and Control During Drinking Water Treatment and Consumption
Chang-Jun HU ; Chang-Biao HU ;
Journal of Environment and Health 1992;0(04):-
The recent data on drinking water contamination suggest that pollutions caused by various treatments and consumption behaviors have been a universal public health problem. Contaminants come from materials for supply disinfections purifications secondary water supply system containers for preparation and storage. Overall management and control should be taken to prevent drinking water pollutions including replacement of hazard materials for water supply application of qualified disinfectors and purificants consumption of safety health container. The government should constitute and revise the related laws and regulations to supervise the whole process of water supply and treatment productions and distributions of disinfectors,purificants and drinking water containers.
