Journal of Chongqing Medical University 2003;0(06):-
Objective:To find out the dental caries condition in children and adolescents of Chongqing to provide data basis for preliminary oral health care of Chongqing. Methods:We adopted the method for oral health investigation of WHO(1997):Firstly,we selected subjects from every section of Chongqing, then devided them into four groups according to age:5-year-lod group,12-year-old group,15-year-old group and 18-year-old group. The examiners are professional dentists. Results:Data of 11592 children and adolescents were collected from 48 surveyed stations. The survey results showed that the prevalence rate of dental carries among students of kindergarten and school was 31.64%,DMFT(dmft) mean was 0.98.Filled tooth rate was 6.74%.Caries rate and DMFT(dmft) mean of female were higher than those male(p

Journal of Chongqing Medical University 1987;0(01):-
Objective:To know the prevalence of dental caries among the urban and rural citizens in Chongqing to provide evidence for effective programs in preventing dental caries. Methods:Based on The Guideline for the Third National Oral Health Survey, with nonproportional stratified cluster sampling method,3168 citizens from six districts and counties underwent oral examination.Together there were 4 age groups,5,12,35~44 and 65~74 year-old.For each group, male and female were of the same number, and the rural and the urban were also of the same number.A total sample of 2942 was effective. Results: the prevalence rates of dental caries for 5,12,35~44,65~74-year-old groups were 64.34%、23.83%、56.71% and 79.78% respectively, and the mean DMFT(dmft) were 3.57、0.49、1.58 and 5.00 respectively. Both the prevalence rate and the mean DMFT(dmft) of female were higher than those of male except 5-year-old group(P
3.Report on random survey for the epidemiology of dental caries among 5-year-old children in Chongqing
Journal of Chongqing Medical University 1986;0(02):-
Objective:To know the prevalence of dental caries among 5-year-old children in Chongqing to provide evidence for effective programs in preventing dental caries. Methods:Based on The Guideline for the Third National Oral Health Survey, with nonproportional stratified cluster sampling method,746 children(373 boys and 373 girls) aged 5 years old in six districts of Chongqing were examined. Results:The prevalence rate of dental caries was 64.34%,mean dmft was 3.57 and filled tooth rate was 0.60%.The prevalence rate and the mean dmft in rural were higher than those in urban(P0.05).Conclusion:The dental caries among 5-year-old children in Chongqing is prevalent, but the filled tooth rate is very low.The preventive measure of dental caries should be enhanced.
4.Sample investigation of the ways of obtaining oral health knowledge for 12 and 35~44-years-old people in Chongqing
Journal of Chongqing Medical University 2007;0(11):-
Objective:To investigate the ways of obtaining oral health knowledge in the population at the age of 12 and 35~ 44 in Chongqing,to provide information for publicizing oral health knowledge in Chongqing. Methods:By the stratified equal- sized random sampling,360 objects aged at 12 and 711 objects aged at 35~44 of three urban and three rural regions in Chongqing were surveyed by questionnaire on ways of obtaining oral health knowledge Results:Less than one third of the children aged at 12 and less than 10% of middle-aged people aged at 35~44 among samples got oral health knowledge from dentists. The main way of getting oral health knowledge for the former is from parents, and other ways are from television, broadcast and oral health teaching. For the latter, the main way is from television or broadcast. The urban children and middle-aged people are both more informed about oral health knowledge than the rural ones in above ways and there are statistical differences(P

6.A study on inhibitory effect of different concentrations of fluor protectors on demineralization of human enamal
Journal of Chongqing Medical University 1986;0(03):-
Objective:To observe and compare the inhibitory effect of two concentrations of fluor protectors on demineralization of human enamel in vitro.Methods:40non-carious human enamels were randomly divided into four groups with 10 samples in each group,of which 5 samples were used for experiment,5 samples were used as spare ones.0.5% fluor protector and 0.1% fluor protector were applied to the experiment groups, while 0.02% sodium fluoride and deionizer water were applied to the control groups. Then the specimens had been dematerialized for 48h,the amounts of phosphorus and calcium dissolved in the acid solution were determined by atomic absorption spectrophotometer and ultraviolet spectrophotometer respectively. Results:The experiment groups were better than the comtrast groups at preventing demineralization, and there was significant difference between experiment groups and contrast groups(P0.05);but there was significant difference between 0.02% sodium fluoride group and vavuity group (P

Objective To compare the inhibitory effect of fluoride-releasing resin sealant and glass ionomer sealant on enamel demineralization in vitro. Methods Thirty noncarious human third molars extracted were randomly divided into 3 groups with 10 in each.Cavity was placed on buccal surfaces of the molars, then filled with fluoride-releasing resin sealant(ClinproTMsealant),glass ionomer sealant(Fuji Ⅸ GP)or non-fluoride-releasing resin sealant(Concise). After thermocycling for 300 cycles, the surface microhardness of sound enamel 1 mm away from sealant-filled cavities in each group was measured. Then after the treated molars were placed in an artificial demineralizing solution for a week, their surface microhardness was detected again. Results The mean reduction of surface microhardness was(87.30?23.84)HV for ClinproTM sealant group,(76.90?27.75)HV for Fuji Ⅸ GP group and(147.67?46.42)HV for Concise group. There was a significant difference(P0.05).Conclusion Both the fluoride-releasing resin sealant and glass ionomer sealant can effectively reduce the amount of enamel demineralization adjacent to the materials.Fluoride ion released from the sealants protects the adjacent enamel against in vitro demineralization to some extent.

Objective To investigate the feasibility of setting up practical course in community oral health education. Methods In the period of experimental teaching of Preventive Dentistry, the practical courses in community oral health education were offered to114 undergraduates who enrolled in 2003,2004 or 2005.And the teaching effectiveness was evaluated. Results About 70 percent of the students believed that the abilities of oral health education, integrating theory with practice, expressing and interpersonal communication would be trained through this practical teaching.94.74 percent of the students considered that it is necessary to practice course in community oral health education. Conclusion Practicing course in community oral health education will be good for improving the overall quality of undergraduates and promoting oral health education campaign of students'active participation, which has a feasibility.

Objective To evaluate the effects of propolis on the growth of S.mutans ATCC 25175(S.m),S.sobrinus 6715(S.s) and their fluoride-resistant strains(S.m-FR,S.s-FR),and the change of their glucosyltransferase(GTF).Methods S.m and S.s were induced with sodium fluoride by minimum inhibitory concentration(MIC) to induce fluoride-resistant strains(S.m-FR and S.s-FR).Fluid dilution method was used to observe the effects of different levels of propolis on growth of S.m,S.m-FR,S.s and S.s-FR.Chemistry enzyme analysis was used to detect the influence of propolis on the enzyme activity of GTF.Results MIC of propolis for S.m,S.m-FR,S.s and S.s-FR were respectively 0.39,0.78,0.20 and 0.39 g/L.MBC of propolis for them were respectively 0.78,1.56,1.56,and 1.56 g/L.GTF of S.m,S.m-FR,S.s,and S.s-FR was decreased gradually with the increase of concentration of propolis. There were significant differences among total sample groups, and each experimental group and positive control group as well(P
