Korean Journal of Dermatology 1987;25(5):689-691
A 13-year-old male presented a single, elevated, oval, walnut sized, soft mass on the left retroauricular ares which has increased in size since birth, Histopathologic examination revealed a cyst in the subcutaneus area. Cyst wall is lined by normal epiderrnis and cyst cavity contains hairs and keratinous materials.

3.Papillary Eccrine Adenoma.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 1990;28(1):107-111
We report a case of papillary eccrine adenoma occurring in a 39-year-old male who had a walnut sized, firm nodule on the right knee without subjective symptoms. Histopathologic exammination revealed a well circumscribed, non-capsulated dermal nodule consisting of multiple ducts with various sizes. These ducts were composed of double layered epithelial cells in most areas, but in some areas severe intraluminal papillation snd pseudostratification into the lumen were seen and the lumina were filled with a homogenous eosinophilic substance and partially with calcium deposition. Immunohistochemical studies with S-100 antigen and csrcinoembryonic sntigen (CEA) were also performed. Positivity for these sntigens strongly supports the hypothesis that this unusual neoplasm differentiates toward the eccrine secretory coil.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 1981;19(4):541-545
The idiopathic calcinosis of the scrotum (Shapiro, 1970) is usually multiple, asymtomatic nodules of the scrotal skin which begins m childhood or early adult life, increase in the size and numbers, and sometimes breakdown to discharge chalky contents. Clinically they are most often misdiagnosed as cysts. The forty eight years old male patient visited our hospital on Oct. 14, 1980, because of multiple asymtomatic scrotal masses which are pin head to walnut sized. There is no family history of calcification, scrotal or otherwise. Histology shows naked amorphous masses in the dermis without any evidence of residual cysts, and is acicular clefts in the masses. Most of the tumors were surgically removed in 5 sessions.

Journal of Korean Academy of Conservative Dentistry 2008;33(5):463-471
This study investigated the clinical effectiveness and safety of sealed bleaching compared to conventional in-office bleaching using a randomized clinical trial of split arch design. Ten participants received a chairside bleaching treatment on the upper anterior teeth, and each side was randomly designated as sealed or control side. A mixture of Brite powder (PacDent, Walnut, USA), 3% hydrogen peroxide and carbamide peroxide (KoolWhite, PacDent, Walnut, USA) were used as bleaching agent. The control side was unwrapped and the experimental side was covered with a linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) wrap for sealed bleaching. The bleaching gel was light activated for 1 hour. The tooth shades were evaluated before treatment, after treatment, and at one week check up by means of a visual shade (VS) assessment using a value oriented shade guide and a computer assisted shade assessment using a spectrophotometer (SP). The data were analyzed by paired t-test. In the control and sealed groups, the visual shade scores after bleaching treatment and at check up showed statistically significant difference from the preoperative shade scores (p < .05). The shade scores of the sealed group were significantly lighter than the control immediately after bleaching and at the check-up appointment (p < 0.05). Compared to prebleaching status, the DeltaE values at post-bleaching condition were 4.35 +/- 1.38 and 5.08 +/- 1.34 for the control and sealed groups, respectively. The DeltaE values at check up were 3.73 +/- 1.95 and 4.38 +/- 2.08 for the control and sealed groups. DeltaE values were greater for the sealed group both after bleaching (p < .05) and at check up (p < .05). In conclusion, both DeltaE and shade score changes were greater for the sealed bleaching group than the conventional bleaching group, effectively demonstrating the improvement of effectiveness through sealing.

6.A Case of Intraorbital Meningioma.
Journal of the Korean Ophthalmological Society 1980;21(3):293-297
A clinically rare case of recurrent meningioma of the orbit of 30 years old male is reported. The right eye invaded with fibroblastic meningioma was enucleated in association of resection of tumor mass ten years ago. The second surgery of socket reconstruction for the palpebral and conjunctival atrophy was performed eight years later. An experience of orbital exenteration to a complete removal of walnut sized firm and palpable mass recurred in the orbital socket with successful result after the histo-pathological examination was described.

Journal of Korean Neurosurgical Society 1979;8(1):75-80
Despite of their frequent occurrence among the brain tumor, meningiomas are rarely seen as a multiple growth, and the incidence of multiplicity in meningioma is about 2%, except for 6.7% in Horrax' series. The authors report a case of multiple meningiomas without evidence of von Recklinghausen's disease. The patient had suffered from the headache, chocked disc and right hemiplegia for about two years which had been aggravated in these two weeks before admission. Left carotid angiogram revealed as a parasagittal giant meningioma. On operation, we did not remove single giant meningioma, but six lumps of mass variably sized from walnut to hen egg, with success. The postoperative course was uneventful and the recovery from hemiplegia was dramatic.

The roots, barks, branches and pericarps of Juglans mandshurica were used as folk medicine in China and reputed for its treatment of several cancers, such as gastric cancer, liver cancer and leukemia. The extracts of the roots, branches, leaves and pericarps of J. mandshurica have been experimentally proved to show anti-tumor activities. Tannins, which exhibited antioxidant and anti-tumor activities, were the main constituents in J. mandshurica. In this paper, a simple spectrophotometric method was developed for the determination of total tannins in the roots, branches, leaves and pericarps of J. mandshurica collected in Dalian and Anshan of Liaoning Province. Gallic acid was used as standard compound and the content of total tannins was calculated as gallic acid equivalent. As a result of the method validation, a good linearity (r = 0.9997, n = 5) and a high recovery of gallic acid (99.02%, RSD 3.7%, n = 9) was achieved. Eight samples including four parts of J. mandshurica collected in two places were analyzed for their total tannins with the established method. In the corresponding parts of J. mandshurica, except the pericarps, the contents of total tannins showed no significant difference between samples collected in Dalian and Anshan, while the content of total tannins in different parts of J. mandshurica were significantly different. The average content of total tannins in the roots, branches, leaves and pericarps of samples collected in Dalian and Anshan was 45.66, 23.40, 58.24, 3.58 mg g(-1), respectively.

Journal of Korean Neurosurgical Society 1979;8(1):185-190
We have recently experienced a case of malignant schwannoma in the right ulnar nerve. A 17 years old male underwent a surgery with a total removal of malignant schwannoma of the right ulnar nerve in the elbow. The tumor mass was walnut size with infiltration to the adjacent structures. The pathological findings show the pattern of interlacing bundles of long spindle cells, plumper hypochromatic elongated or serpentile and eosinophilic nuclei with process and frequent mitosis, loss of cellular polarity and polymorphism can be seen. Pathological diagnosis was malignant schwannoma. Approximately 4 months later his initial operation, the tumor recurred at right elbow and axillary region and removed without any proper treatment.
