1.Application of neuromodulation therapy on eating disorder
Chinese Journal of Behavioral Medicine and Brain Science 2021;30(5):469-475
With the development of society, eating disorders(EDs) have attracted people's attention because of their chronicity, high fatality rate and heavy social burden. However, the current treatment mainly includes psychotherapy and drug therapy, but the therapeutic effect is not satisfactory. Studies suggest that patients with EDs have brain abnormalities related to the prefrontal cortex. In recent years, the neuromodulation therapies, especially the non-invasive neuromodulation therapies, have become a research hotspot because of their few side effects and easy to use. At present, they have been used in mental disorders such as depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, substance addiction and so on. A small number of studies on EDs have also been carried out. This paper reviews the related studies on anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa, and introduces the working principles of deep brain stimulation, transcranial magnetic stimulation and direct current stimulation and their efficacy in the treatment of EDs. Previous studies have shown that neuromodulation therapies are effective in the treatment of EDs. However, the existing research results are not exactly same, and the best parameters need to be clarified. In the future study, it is necessary to integrate cognitive, neuroimaging and biomarker data to identify different endophenotypes in EDs, so as to help clarify the disease mechanism, help patients with EDs to formulate individual treatment plans, improve clinical symptoms, and put forward suggestions and prospects for future research and application.
2.EFFECT OF GYNOSTEMMA PENTAPHYLLUM ON THE LIFE SPAN OF FRUIT FLY
Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 1986;0(06):-
The influence of Gynostemma pentaphyllum extract ( G. P ) on the life span of fruit fly was observed. G. P (0.5% and 1.0%) significantly increased mean life span by 11.8% and 12.2%, respectiyely, when fed to male adults. At 0.25% concentraction, the female adults were found to yield an increase of 24.1% in mean life span and the male an increase of 18.5%.Rearing flics on 0. 5% G. P during both the developmental and adult stages proved to be even more effective than just feeding during the adult stage. The mean life span of male and female adults were increased by 53.3% and 46.1% , respectively, but at the higher concen-tration of 1.0%, the increase was 14.4% and 9.7%, respectively,G. P obviously improved the growth of larvae when given aconcentration of 0.5%,No marked change was observed in the copulatory rate of fruitflies after the treatment of 0.5% G.P.

Anorexia Nervosa(AN),one kind of eating disorder charactered by abnormal eating patterns, low body weight, and weight and shape concerns,is an intractable psychiatric illness which has the highest mortality rates. The etiology of AN is complex, and the neurobiology mechanisms of AN remain unclear.Much of the research provided indications that the pathogenesis of AN is associated with the oxytocin (OT) functions.Summarizing the recent advances on OT in AN,a systematic review of OT research was conducted that it pertains to regulation of feeding, social activity, emotion and bone metabolism in AN.OT probably play an important role in the development and progression of AN.OT system disorder may be an state indicator rather than a trait indicator of AN.Because of the variety physiological effects and the complex effects on AN,OT has the potential applications, especially for the treatment of AN.

ObjectiveTo evaluate surgical management of femoral pseudoaneurysm caused by injection of addictive drugs.MethedsData of 18 cases were reviewed and analysed retrospectively.13 patients underwent primary expanded polytetrafluoroethylene(ePTFE) external iliofemoral bypass (end to side) grafting. Postoperative anastomotic burst and bleeding in one of the 3 patients undergoing saphenous vein autotransplant in situ was successfully treated by ePTFE grafting. Results All of the grafts were patent as demonstrated by postoperative color Dopler ultrasonography. Although 2 patients had their femoral arteries ligated, limbs of all the 18 patients were salvaged.ConclusionsWhen a suitable saphenous vein is not available for autotransplantation, an artificial vessel grafting is still an effective procedure for managing femoral artery false aneurysm.During operation thorough debridement and avoidance of artificial vessel contamination are the most important factors for preventing infective complications of the graft.

This study was aimed to develop an ICP-MS method to determine contents of six types of heavy metals, which include Cr, Pb, Cd, As, Hg and Cu, in Pian-Zai-Huang Gan-Bao (PZHGB) tablets. The samples were pro-cessed by microwave digestion. And then, they were determined by ICP-MS. The results showed that the working curves of Cr, Cu, As, Cd, Hg and Pb had good linear relationships with the correlation coefficient which was more than 0.9993. The average recovery rate of Cr was 101.2%. The relative standard deviation (RSD) was 7.6%. The av-erage recovery rate of Cu was 96.4%, with the RSD of 3.5%. The average recovery rate of As was 101.3%, with the RSD of 1.8%. The average recovery rate of Cd was 100.2%, with the RSD of 0.3%. The average recovery rate of Hg was 100.5%, with the RSD of 4.2%. The average recovery rate of Pb was 104.2%, with the RSD of 5.6%. It was concluded that the method was stable and reliable, with high sensitivity and repeatability. This method can be used in the content determination of six types of heavy metals, which include Cr, Pb, Cd, As, Hg and Cu in PZHGB tablets.

ObjectiveTo evaluate the treatment strategy for patients with abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) and concomitant digestive system diseases (DSD) necessitating a surgery.Method From Mar. 1999 to Oct. 2001, clinical result of 6 cases suffering from concomitant AAA and DSD was reviewed. The AAA ranged from 4 8 to 11?cm in diameter. Cholecystectomy (for acute cholecystitis) and sigmoidectomy (for colonic cancer) were performed synchronously with AAA repair in 2 cases and 1 case respectively. Right semicolonectomy, radical subtotal gastectomy and esophagogastrectomy (all for carcinoma) were performed heterochronously with AAA endovascular exclusive grafting in one each patient, ResultGastric paresis developed postoperatively and recovered spontaneously in one patient. Esophagogastroanastomosis leakage caused a death in 1 patient. With follow up of 6~42 months the remaining 5 patients were alive, with no graft infection, nor cancer recurrence. ConclusionThe concurrent presentation of AAA and digestive tract diseases necessitating surgical intervention could be successfully managed synchronously or heterochronously.Endovascular exclusive graft of AAA is an effective therapy in patiens suffering from concomitant AAA and DSD.

Journal of Practical Radiology 2000;0(02):-
Objective To investigate the value in distinguishing benign and malignant vertebral fractures with MR diffusion-weighted imaging(DWI).Methods 31 patients with 58 vertebral fractures were underwent routine MRI scanning and echo-planar DWI(EPI/DWI).The materials were divided into benign group(n=32,20 cases),malignant group(n=18,8cases),tuberculosis group(n=8,3cases) and normal vertebral body group(n=31). Signal intensities on DWI were compared and apparent diffusion coeffient(ADC) values of normal and abnormal vertebral bodies were calculated. ADC values among the benign, malignant, tuberculosis vertebral bodies and normal ones were quantitatively analyzed and compared. Results The ADC values of benign, malingnant, tuberculosis and normal vertebral bodies were (1.44?0.41)?10 -3 mm2/s,(0.94?0.17)?10 -3 mm2/s,(0.98?0.13)?10 -3 mm2/s and(0.42?0.16)?10 -3 mm2/s ,respectively. The ADC values of the three abnormal groups were higher than normal group ( all P0.05). The sensitivity and specificity of ADC for the diagnosis of malignant lesion were 72.2% and 90.6% if the upper bound of 95% confidence interval was set as a differential level. Conclusion DWI provides an important supplement to the routine MRI in the differentiation of benign with malignant vertebral fractures.
