?AlM:To observe the eye complications in the cases of acute chlorine gas poisoning.
?METHODS:A retrospective review of 121 cases of acute chlorine gas poising with eye irritation, dry eye and other eye complications in Linyi People’s Hospital from February 2009 to February 2013 was performed.
?RESULTS: Among 121 patients, 117 cases ( about 96. 7%) had complications of eye irritation and conjunctival and corneal epithelial damage, and the ocular surface damage was aggravated with the increasing level of chlorine gas poisoning. After 3, 6mo being discharged, 32 and 7 patients respectively occurred dry eye among 115 patients followed up. One mild chlorine poisoning patient, during the hormonotherapy of pulmonary complication, complicated with bullous retinal detachment, of which symptoms and physical signs had been improved after stopping hormonotherapy and adding drugs facilitating fluid absorption. One severe chlorine poisoning patient with loss of consciousness during the treatment, had corneal ulcer and after ulcer being healed with drug and conjunctival flap covering surgery, was left permanent leukoma cornea.
?CONCLUSlON: Acute chlorine poisoning can cause corneal and conjunctival epithelial damage and dry eye. Ocular complications like bullous retinal detachment associated with hormone application should be paid more attention to in the hormonotherapy. For some patients with severe poisoning, the therapy of corneal and conjunctival epitheliums should be taken seriously in case of irreparable damage in rescuing patient’s life.

Objective To explore the value of combined detection of parathyroid hormone(PTH),β2-microglobulin(β2-MG)and high sensitivity C-reactive protein(hs-CRP)in differentiating diagnosis of acute and chronic renal failure. Meth?ods Patients diagnosed with renal failure was divided into acute renal failure patients group (n=64) and chronic renal fail?ure group (n=74) . Other patients with non-renal failure kidney disease (NRF group, n=80) and healthy adult (control group, n=80) were also selected. Levels of PTH,β2-MG, hs-CRP , PTH+β2-MG, PTH+hs-CRP,β2-MG+hs-CRP and PTH+β2-MG+ hs-CRP were compared between these four groups to choose the optimal combination for differential diagnosis. Re?sults Hs-CRP in ARF group was significantly higher than that in control group and CRF group. Levels of PTH andβ2-MG were significantly lower in ARF group than that in CRF groups but not in control group (P < 0.01). hs-CRP andβ2-MG in the ARF group were moderately higher (68.7%) and severely higher (81.2%) while PTH was mild higher (25%) in ARF group than those in control group, On the other hand, hs-CRP andβ2-MG in the ARF group were moderately higher (56.8%) and severely higher (98.6%) while PTH was mild higher (39.2%) in ARF group than those in control group. Combina?tion of hs-CRP withβ2-MG could increase total case rate (TCR) and Youden index (YI) of ARF;while combination of PTH andβ2-MG could improve the TCR and YI of CRF. Conclusion Combined detection of PTH,β2-MG and hs-CRP is use?ful in differential diagnosis of ARF and CRF.

Salvia miltiorrhiza is a highly valued traditional chinese medicine for the treatment of atherosclerosis-related disorders in china, such as cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases in China. The wilt disease is serious in the culture of S. miltiorrhiza. Wilt disease cause biomass of plant shoots and roots is lessened, active components are decreased. To solve these problems, we research the pathogen causing wilt disease of S. miltiorrhiza. The suspected pathogen is identified by morphology and etiological test. The identification was further confirmed by alignment the sequences of internal transcribed spacer (ITS) amplified by PCR. Our result show the wilt disease of S. miltiorrhiza mostly occurred in July and August, which is hot and wetter. The wilt disease rate of S. miltiorrhiza continuous cropping for one year in S. miltiorrhiz stubble is 10%, but the wilt disease rate of S. miltiorrhiza continuous cropping for three years in S. miltiorrhiz stubble is 60%-70%. The root rot of S. miltiorrhiz caused by the wilt disease, so the wilt disease was mistaken for the rot root in production. Morphological characteristics show the pathogen is Fusarium oxysporum. The sequence of ITS wes determined and found by BLAST shared 99% identity to that of F. oxysporum f. sp. cucumerinum. So it comes to the conclusion that the causing agent of wilt disease on S. miltiorrhiza belongs to F. oxysporum.

Journal of Biomedical Engineering 2010;27(1):102-108
A novel Cu-IUDs material, PU/PEG/Cu nanocomposite, was prepared by melt blending method with thermoplastic polyurethane (PU) as the matrix, with polyethylene glycol (PEG) as a hydrophilic modifier, and with nanometer particles of copper as active matter instead of copper wire or copper tube. The structure, morphology, mechanical properties, thermal stability and water absorption were investigated by using FT-IR, XRD, SEM and so on. The results indicated that the nanometer particles of copper were uniformly dispersed in the matrix in PU/PEG/ Cu nanocomposites. It can be seen that the water absorption ability of this nanocomposite was obviously improved while mechanical properties and thermal stability were at high levels. These results provided a good basis for the studies on the cupric ions release of the nanocomposites in future.
