Chinese Pediatric Emergency Medicine 2010;17(6):499-501
Objective To investigate the discharge outcome and its clinical influential factors of acute poisoning in children, and to provide the clinical references for prevention. Methods Questionaire about acute poisoning in children made by the research group, the hospitalized children and the influential factors were analyzed according to the outcome. Results Among 168 cases of acute poisoning hospitalized children, the curative rate was 80.95%, 16 cases(9.52%) were improved,6 cases (3.57%)were quitted,1.20% was ' not curative' and 4. 76% died. The factors including age, treatment time, route of entry, varieties of poison, medical examination of admission were statistically associated with the discharge outcome. Conclusion The outcome can be improved through an intensive nurse of the children under the age of three and early treatment. The cases who were not poisoned by the invasion of gastrointestinal tract, paraquat poisoning, and those with abnormalities of breathing, pupilla, awareness in medical examination of admission would have poor discharge outcomes, and should be monitored closely and treated timely.

Objective To study the effect of cholecalciterol cholesterol emulsion(CCE)in the zymosan(Z)-induced acute hepatic injury. Meth-ods A total of 36 C57 BL/6 mice were randomly divided into 4 groups, namely negative control(CON)group,CCE group,Z group and CCE+Z group, respectively. There were 9 mice in each group. Mice from CON group and Z group were fed with pure water. Mice from CCE group and CCE+Z group were fed with cholecalciterol cholesterol emulsion 20μL dissolved in 200 mL pure water which was kept in darkness. After 14 days, Z group and CCE+Z group were injected with zymosan at a dose of 500 mg/kg. After 18 hours, all the mice in each group were sacrificed. The liver tissues were harvested for histopathological examination. The serum ALT levels were determined. The molecular expression of IL-6 and IL-18 in liv-er tissue of mice were evaluated by Western blotting and real-time quantitative PCR method. Results The results of histopathological examination showed that liver tissue damage in CCE+Z group was lighter than that of Z group ,and heavier than that of the CON group. Compared to the CON group,Z group had the highest serum ALT level, followed by CCE+Z group, while in Z group was significantly lower than that in CON group(all P<0.05). The expression of IL-6 and IL-18 protein and mRNA showed level of Z group was apparently higher than those of CON group and CCE+Z group(all P<0.05). Conclusion Cholecalciterol cholesterol emulsion can play certain protective effect on zymosan-induced liver injury in mice.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the female sexual dysfunction (FSD) in type 2 diabetes patients, by comparing the sexual function between type 2 diabetic women and non-diabetic women with Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI).
METHODS115 type 2 diabetic women and 107 age-matched non-diabetes women were enrolled with similar backgrounds. Their sexual functions were evaluated with FSFI. Metabolic parameters such as body mass index, blood lipid profile, hemoglobin A1C, plasma glucose were also collected.
RESULTSTotal score of FSFI of the type 2 diabetic women were significantly lower than that of the non-diabetic controls (18.27±8.96 vs. 23.02±5.78, P=0.000). Scores of the FSFI domains (desire, arousal, lubrication, orgasm, satisfaction, pain) of the type 2 diabetic group were also lower than those of the control group. According to the FSD criterion (FSFI<25) available in China, the percentage of FSD in the type 2 diabetic group was significantly higher than that of the control group (79.2%vs. 55.0%, P<0.001). These trends seemed more prominent in pre-menopause subgroups. The logistic regression analysis indicated that age and diabetes were independent risk factors of FSD. Body Mass Index (BMI) also had influence in the diabetes group.
CONCLUSIONFindings from this study showed that there are more FDS in Chinese type 2 diabetic women than in their non-diabetic counterparts, especially in pre-menopause participants.

Objective To evaluate the prevalence of NI in the SICU at our hospital. Methods 181 NI patients in the SICU were retrospectively analysed during Jan 1996~Dec 2000.Results The average NI rate was 9.81%. The major sites of NI were respiratory tract(36.96 %),thoracic/abdominal cavity(25.47 %)and bloodstream infections(9.32 %).The difference in major pathogens of infections in different sites reached statistical significance. For respiratory tract, thoracic/abdominal cavity and bloodstream infections, bacteria were the most common pathogens. Fungi were the moat frequent isolate from urine and stool. Mixed infection proportion was 52.25 %. The most common pathogens were Enterococci, Methicillin resistant Staphylococci、 Pseudomonas Aecruginosa、Escherichia Coli、Candida Albicans and Candida Tropicalis. Conclusions The most common pathogens of NI in SICU are different in different infection sites. The pathogens were complicated and most strains are antibiotics resistant. So it is important to establish NI control and to understand the changes of pathogens so as to prevent the infection.
