1.Effect of Two Air Disinfection Methods in Unremitting Operating Room:Comparison and Evaluation
Chinese Journal of Nosocomiology 2006;0(07):-
OBJECTIVE To study air disinfection methods in unremitting operating room,we compared effect of using trioxide disinfector(used in operating room "A") with YKX/G100-type medical air disinfection and purification machine(used in operating room "B") in disinfecting air inside unremitting operating room.METHODS To observe the killing effect on air natural bacteria of the two methods,we used natural sedimentation monitoring the different stages sampling before and after sterilization and at the beginning stage of the unremitting operation.RESULTS Both the two methods could achieve the air natural bacteria eradication rate above 85%.The air bacteria colony number obviously upgraded after the beginning of unremitting operation in operating rooms "A";but in operating rooms "B",the number fell-off slowly.CONCLUSIONS The medical air disinfection and purification machine can shorten the interval of operations,it is the better approach of continuous air disinfection in solving the unremitting operating room with personnel existence.
8.Effect of Hyperbaric Oxygen on Cervical Spinal Cord Injury
Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2012;18(12):1163-1164
Objective To explore the effects of hyperbaric oxygen on cervical spinal cord injury. Methods 48 postoperative patients with cervical spinal cord injury received hyperbaric oxygen therapy in addition to conventional treatment. Neural function was accessed with International Standards for Neurological Classification of Spinal Cord Injury (American Spinal Injury Association, ASIA) before and after hyperbaric oxygen therapy. Results After hyperbaric oxygen therapy, the total efficiency of patients with course ≤ 30 d was higher than that of patients with course >30 d (P<0.05). The total efficiency of patients accepted more than 3 courses of treatments was higher than that of patients accepted less than 2 courses of treatments (P<0.05). Conclusion Patients with cervical spinal cord injury should receive hyperbaric oxygen therapy for more than 3 courses as soon as possible after surgery.
9.Construction and Functional Analysis of a Synthetic Wound-and Hormone-inducible Promoter ocs/mas
China Biotechnology 2006;0(07):-
The use of optimal regulatory sequences for simultaneous expression of the transgenes might play a significant role in engineering plants with increased disease and insect resistance. The plant expression vector pOMS-GUS,which contained the GUS gene under the control of a chimeric promoter based upon the mannopine synthase(mas)promoter and the octopine synthase(ocs)enhancer, was constructed.Used as control, another vector pMAS-GUS,carried the GUS gene driven by only the mas promoter. The two vectors were introduced into tobacco plants by Agrobacterium-mediated transformation.Fluorometric assays for GUS activity and reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR)analysis revealed that GUS gene expressed weakly with untreated transgenic tobacco while the level of GUS activity increased steadily after 1 h subjected to wounding. The expression of the mas and ocs/mas promoters was induced a further 1.8-fold and 5.7-fold,respectively.SA(1 mmol/L)or MJ(250 ?mol/L)treatment also caused a large induction of the ocs/mas chimeric promoter; And the application of SA in combination with MJ(1 mmol/LSA & 250 ?mol/L MJ)produced an additive effect that exceeded the wounding response. The results showed that the ocs/mas chimeric promoter is a strong inducible promoter that can be activated by various stresses. The chimeric promoter should have utility in development of disease and insect resistant transgenic crops.

AIM:To observe the effect of botulinum neurotoxin type A heavy chain ( BoNT/A HC) on the pat-tern of spinal protein expression by intrathecal injection after spinal cord injury in rats , and to explore the role of BoNT/A HC intervention in spinal protein expression and some of its mechanisms in nerve regeneration after injury .METHODS:The model of unilateral lumbar spinal cord injury was established .The effects of BoNT/A HC intervention at different doses (2 μg, 4 μg, 6 μg and 8 μg) on the general pattern of protein expression in the spinal cord tissues at the injury site and the cranial part adjacent to the injury site was measured and evaluated by SDS-PAGE and Coomassie brilliant blue staining first, and then by two-dimensional SDS-PAGE.RESULTS:The histological structure of the ipsilateral side of lumbar spi-nal cord showed obvious destruction and degradation , mainly affecting both gray and white matter of the left side of the cord. The result of SDS-PAGE with Coomassie brilliant blue staining from injured spinal cord tissue displayed that the ex-pression of some proteins after one-time BoNT/A HC treatment appeared obviously different from that without BoNT /A HC treatment. Moreover, the pattern of the protein expression affected by BoNT/A HC was similar to that of the normal spinal cord. The more detail information from two-dimensional SDS-PAGE indicated that more than 10 proteins with different mo-lecular weight and isoelectronic points were differentially expressed at day 2 and day 20 after local injection of 6μg BoNT/A HC.This altered expression actually appeared a tendency toward the pattern shown in normal group .CONCLUSION:The immediate application of BoNT/A HC at the injury site after unilateral lumbar spinal cord injury is able to affect the pattern of local protein expression .The altered protein expression by injury could be reversed back to normal or approxi -mately normal by local BoNT/A HC administration.
