6.The application of the f ive phases-ancient ten months'calendar in the theory of Inner Canon of Huangdi
China Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Pharmacy 2006;0(09):-
The corresponding season of the ve zang-viscera is the important content of the correspondence between man and universe theory in the Inner Canon of Huangdi, and the corresponding season of the ve zang-viscera related to several modes of calendar. With the exception of the way that combine the ve zang-viscera with calendar which make use of criss and cross or divide into ve parts on 12 months of a year, the authors believe that the newly discovered ancient ten months' calendar had been showed clearly in the Inner Canon of Huangdi. The text of the Inner Canon of Huangdi that cannot be explained well in accordance with twelve months' calendar can be explained by ancient ten months' calendar, and the ancient ten months' calendar is the basis that the ve phases theory is derived from the concept of the ve seasons.
7.The effects of long-term Mulanquan exercise on free radical metabolism and nitric oxide in middle aged and elderly women
Chinese Journal of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation 2003;0(07):-
Objective To observe the effects of long-term Mulanquan exercise on antioxidative capacity and vasodilation. To elucidate the mechanism by which Mulanquan regulates endothelial endocrine function. To provide scientific evidence for Mulanquan's regulating blood pressure, improving cardiovascular function and preventing cardi- ovascular disease. Methods Forty-nine women volunteers were divided into an exercise group and a control group. They were fifty to sixty years old.The exercise group included 27 subjects who had practiced mulanquan regularly for at least two years. The control group comprised 22 subjects who had no habit of exercise.Their levels of serum ma- londialdehyde(MDA),superoxide dismutase(SOD),glutathione peroxidase(GSH-Px),catalase(CAT)and nitric ox- ide(NO)were quantitatively determined.Results①Serum MDA was lower in the exercise group than in the con- trol group, and the difference between the two groups was highly significant statistically.Serum SOD activity and GSH-Px activity in the exercise group were higher than in the control group, the differences between the two groups being highly significant statistically. There was no significant difference between the groups in serum CAT activity. The serum NO content of the exercise group was higher than that of the controls, with the inter-group difference statis- tically significant.②Serum NO content was positively correlated with SOD activity ,GSH-Px activity, and SOD/MDA, and negatively correlated with MDA content. Conclusion Long-term Mulanquan exercise can suppress lipid peroxi- dation in middle aged and aged women. It can help maintain high antioxidative capacity, increase the secretion of NO,and thus limit any decrease in endothelium-dependent vasodilatation, which will be good for regulating blood pressure and preventing cardiovascular disease.
8.Preparation of monoclonal antibodies against SARS coronavirus nucleocapsid protein and preliminary analysis of antigenic epitopes
Journal of Chongqing Medical University 1986;0(04):-
Objective:To prepare monoclonal antibodies with high specificity against different regions of N protein and to analyze antigenic epitopes of SARS-CoV N protein. Methods: Balb/ c mice were immunized with purified different region N protein to prepare McAb by hybridoma technique and select by indirect ELISA.Both of these McAbs were characterized for their antibody titre in the culture supernatant as well as ascites, class, subclass and affinity analysis. The antigen specificity for McAb were evaluated and confirmed by Western blot. The binding site and capability of McAb were observed by ELISA additive assay. Results: Seven hybridoma cell lines secreting monoclonal antibodies against SARS-CoV N1 and two hybridoma cell lines secreting monoclonal antibodies against SARS-CoV N2 were obtained.About the immunoglobulin subclass of McAb,six were IgG1,two were IgG2b and one was IgG3.Western blot showed that the McAbs reacted specifically with SARS-CoV N protein.ELISA additive assay indicated that two antibodies against SARS-CoV N1 recognized same epitopes, while others recognized distinct epitopes. Conclusion: We successfully obtained nine specific McAbs against the different region SARS-CoV N protein after expression and purification of the different part SARS-CoV N protein. It shows that the N1 McAb recognizs the N-terminus of the N protein whereas the N2 McAb recognizs the C-terminus.

10.Effect of atorvastatin on changes of heart function and plasma level of brain natriuretic peptide in acute myocardial infarction patients
Clinical Medicine of China 2010;26(10):1030-1033
Objective To observe changes in plasma level of brain natriuretic peptide ( BNP), left ventricular function in acute myocardial infarction (AMI) patients and discuss the effect of atorvastatin in these patients. Methods Eight patients with acute myocardial infarction hospitalized from October 2006 to December 2008 in our department were enrolled in the study. The AMI patients were further randomly assigned into the conventionsl treatment group ( n = 38 ) and atorvastatin treatment group ( n = 42 ). In the conventional group all patients took ACEI, beta-blocker, nitrate drugs, aspirin and low molecular beparin as their conventional therapy without medication taboo. In the atorvastatin group all patients took atorvastatin 20 mg per day for three months in addition to the conventional treatment. Twenty healthy individuals were testified by coronary arteriongraphy and ultrasonic cardiogram selected as controls ( n = 20). LVEDd, LVEF and left ventricular fractional shortening (LVFS) of 80 patients with AMI and 20 healthy controls were examined by ultrasonic cardiography and their plasma concentrations of BNP were measured. As to the conventional and atorvastatin group, the parameters were tested on the day of hospitalization (within 24 hours of AMI) ,also at the 3rd week and 3rd month after treatment. All data were analyzed statistically by SPSS12. 0. Results There were no significant changes in LVEDd, LVEF, LVFS after 3-week treatment compared to pre-treatment ( P > 0.05 ), but significant changes after 3-month treatment ( P <0. 01 ) in 2 AMI groups. Moreover, LVEDd, LVEF, LVFS in the atorvastatin group were significantly greater than the conventional group (P < 0.05). The plasma levels of BNP measured within 24 hours of AMI onset in two treatment groups were significantly higher than the control group. The plasma BNP level decreased significantly after 3 - week and 3-month treatment( all P value <0. 01 )in both treatment groups and atorvastatin group showed even lower BNP level with comparison to the conventional group( P <0.05 ). The plasma BNP in myocardial infarction patients after three months of treatment were negatively correlated with LVEF( r1 = -0.48 ,r2 = -0.58 ,P < 0. 01 ) which implied a close relationship between BNP and heart function. Conclusions The changes of plasma BNP is earlier than that of heart structure. The long-treatment usage of atorvastatin may improve cardiac function, decrease the plasma BNP and convert ventricular remodeling, which benefit patients besides lipid managing. The plasma BNP could be used as a sensitive indicator of the treatment response and a useful index for evaluating the heart function and pronosis in AMI patients.
