In the past decades,more and more mutant genes that cause inherited retinal diseases have been found.Meanwhile,many naturally occurring animal models have also been found to show similar gene mutations and phenotypes as the human inherited retinal diseases,which have led to the development of a variety of therapeutic strategies for those traditionally incurable inherited diseases.These models include rod degeneration (rd) mice,such as rd1 model,rd10 model and nmf137.To compare the efficacy of these strategies,this article briefly reviews the recent progress in the treatment of the mouse models with mutations in the subunit of rod phosphodiesterase (Pde6b)gene by pharmaceutical,stem cell and gene therapy in order to find a more effective treatment for retinal degeneration.

Uterine arteriovenous fistula (UAVF) is a rare condition,however it can cause life-threatening vaginal bleeding or acute intra-abdominal hemorrhage.Many diagnosis methods may be used,among which angiography is the gold standard of diagnosis.There is no clear treatment guideline so far.Treatments can be made according to patient's age,symptoms,bearing requirement and pathological changes of hemodynamic parameters.

Objective To establish a quality standard for Tibetan medicineRuyi-Zhenbao pill. Methods Thin-layer chromatography (TLC) was applied to identify 12 Tibetan medicinal materials, and High performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) was employed to determine the contents of gallic acid, dehydrodiisoeugenol, piperine, and cinnamaldehyde.Results The identified characteristics of TLC were distinct and the spots were clear. Linearity of gallic acid, dehydrodiisoeugenol, piperine, and cinnamaldehyde were in the range of 0.106-0.901μg, 0.033-0.281μg, 0.007-0.060μg, and 0.021-0.178μg, respectively. Average recovery was in the range of 98.47%-101.65% (RSD<3.0%).Conclusions The method of identification and content determination was good in terms of specificity, accuracy and repeatability, and can be used for quality control ofRuyi-Zhenbaopill.

Objective To investigate the relationship of nitric oxide with nitric oxide synthase system in fetal rat kidney and the mechanism of renal injury after acute intrauterine ischemia(hypoxia)/reperfusion ischemia(hypoxia)/reperfusion. Methods Wistar rats of 21 gestational days were selected and divided into seven groups according to the different ischemia(hypoxia)/reperfusion time. Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of lung detoxification soup for treatment of patients with ventilator associated pneumonia(VAP)and its effects on serum procalcitonin(PCT),high sensitivity C reactive protein (hs-CRP)and white blood cell count(WBC). Methods A prospective randomized controlled trial was conducted, sixty cases of VAP with traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)syndrome of accumulation of phlegm and heat in lung from Department of Intensive Care Unit(ICU)in the First Affiliated Hospital of Anhui TCM University were enrolled, and the CASIO fx-360P function calculator was applied to generate random numbers to proceed to simple randomized dividing into two groups(each,30 cases). In the control group,mechanical ventilation,anti-infection,prevention of stress ulcer,early enteral nutrition,early weaning of ventilator and conventional western medicine treatment were given to the patients,while in the treatment group,based on the above conventional treatments in the control group,additionally the lung detoxification soup was given(soup composition:radix astragali 20 g ,baical skullcap root 15 g,coptis 10 g,shellfish 8 g,pinelliae tuber 10 g,white mustard seed 10 g,heartleaf houttuynia herb 15 g, honeysuckle flower 15 g,forsythia 15 g,banlangen 15 g,rhubarb 10 g,salvia miltiorrhiza 30 g)by nasal feeding, once 100 mL,twice a day. The therapeutic course was 7 days in both groups. The changes of TCM syndrome integral, levels of serum PCT,hs-CRP and WBC before and after treatment and the clinical efficacy were compared between the two groups. Results After treatment,the TCM syndrome integral,the levels of WBC,serum PCT,hs-CRP were significantly lower than those before treatment in both groups,and the decrease in treatment group being more marked〔TCM syndrome integral:4.73±1.10 vs. 10.33±1.46,WBC(×109/L):8.71±0.55 vs. 10.77±0.65,PCT (μg/L):1.64±0.40 vs. 5.71±1.25,hs-CRP(mg/L):4.96±1.06 vs. 8.85±1.53,all P<0.05〕. The total effective rate of treatment group was significantly higher than that in the control group〔(93.33%(28/30)vs. 73.33(22/30),P<0.05〕. Conclusion The lung detoxification soup can significantly improve the clinical symptoms,reduce the levels of WBC,serum PCT and hs-CRP in patients of VAP with TCM syndrome of accumulation of phlegm and heat in lung, therefore the soup may play a beneficial role as an adjuvant therapy for such patients.

Objective To evaluate the efficacy in aromatase inhibitors and tamoxifen on Luminal postmenopausal breast neoplasms.Methods PubMED,Science Direct,EBSCO Host,EMbase,The Cochrane Library,CNKI,CECDB and CQVIP were retrieved,the evaluation methodology included.The quality of the included studies and extracted data should be researched rigorously.Review Manager 5.0 software was used to evaluate the quality standards of randomized clinical trial (RCT).Results Twelve RCT were selected,included 2634 patients,1354 cases of treatment group (use aromatase inhibitors),1280cases of control group (use tamoxifen).The results of the evaluation of the system:compared to control group,treatment group significantly improved disease-free survival in 1 year (RR =1.10,95％ CI 1.01-1.19),disease-free survival in 3 years (RR =1.09,95％ CI 1.05-1.13),the overall efficiency in 1 year (RR =1.21,95％ CI 1.12-1.30),furthermore treatment group significantly reduced the incidence of cardiovascular diseases in 3 years (RR =0.47,95％ CI 0.27-0.83),but there was no significant difference in the incidence of bone and joint disease in 3 years between the 2 groups (RR =0.99,95％ CI 0.61-1.61).Conclusion Compared to tamoxifen,the efficacy of aromatase inhibitors is excellent in treatment of Luminal postmenopausal breast neoplasms,it is worth promoting.

Objective To study the hypoglycemic effect of polysaccharide from stigma maydis and to explore its therapeutic mechanism preliminarily.Method The diabetes mice models were induced by tetraoxypyrimidine.The concentration of blood sugar was determined by glucose oxidase test.The influence of the stigma maydis polysaccharide on glycometabolism and its repair effect on damaged glycometabolism organs of diabetic mice were observed respectively by content determination of glycogen and by the measurement of activities of relative enzymes(superoxyde dismutase and glutathione peroxidase).Results The stigma maydis polysaccharide could decrease the blood sugar,promote the synthesis of glycogen and repair the damaged glycometabolism organs of diabetic mice.Conclusion The stigma maydis polysaccharide exhibits a good therapeutic effect on diabetic mice,and has a good development prospect.

At present,the treatment for non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) consists of surgery,radiation,chemotherapy,targeted therapy,etc.The epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) gene mutation opened a new era of individualized treatment.Multidisciplinary treatment come next after the combination of different treatment approaches,and the modality of targeted therapy like epidermal growth factor receptor-tyrosine kinase inhibitor (EGFR-TKI) in combination with radiation was included.The present work reviews clinical progress for the EGFR-TKI combined with radiotherapy in advanced NSCLC.

Objective To analyze the pathogenic distribution and drug resistance of 7 534 clinical samples ,so as to provide a ba-sis for rational use of antimicrobial drugs in clinical .Methods The pathogens isolated from 7 534 clinical samples were counted and their drug resistance rates were analyzed by retrospective survey method .Results The positive rates of Gram positive coccus ,Gram negative bacillus and fungi were 14 .02% ,52 .98% ,and 7 .57% respectively .The drug resistance rates of pathogens were increas-ing .Conclusion Improving the accuracy of detection and standardizing the application of antibacterials would be helpful to reduce the generation of bacterial drug resistance .
