Objective To observe the serum estradiol level in newborns at different gestational age and the infants with retinopathy of prematurity (ROP), and explore the relationship between these changes and ROP. Methods A total of 178 newborns hospitalized in the Children's Hospital of Fudan University were enrolled in the study. They were divided into three groups based on the gestational age, < 32 weeks group, 32-37 weeks group and term group. The three groups were further divided into non-oxygen and oxygen subgroups. Infants with birth weight less than 2000 g were evaluated for ROP and those diagnosed as ROP were under ROP group (n=6). Serum estradiol levels were measured every week from birth to discharge with radioimmunoassay. Results Serum estradiol levels of newborns quickly declined after birth. In the non-oxygen subgroups, serum estradiol levels in 32 ~ 37 weeks group were remarkably higher than those of term group in the first week [(3506±1376) pmol/L vs (1717±179) pmol/L,P<0. 05] and the third week [(1431±92) pmol/L vs (996±102) pmol/L, P<0. 05]; Serum estradiol levels in <32 weeks group was only remarkably higher than those of term group in the first week [(3173± 1369) pmol/L vs (1717± 179) pmol/L,P<0. 05]; Serum estradiol level in the <32 week group was (560±355) pmol/L, lower than that in the 32-37 weeks group [( 1124 ± 128) pmol/L] (P<0. 05). There was no difference of serum estradiol levels in the oxygen and non-oxygen subgroups of the same group. There was no significant difference of serum estradiol levels between the ROP group and <32 weeks group. Serum estradiol levels in ROP group was lower than that of premature group without ROP at 29 and 32-36 weeks of corrected gestational age, but no statistical difference was shown. Conclusions Very low serum estradiol level in premature infants may be related to the development of ROP, but further clinical studies are required.

Chinese Medical Equipment Journal 1989;0(04):-
The running cost of medical equipment embodies in every stage of the whole process of the equipment using. The control of the running cost in procurement phase is discussed in four aspects: chemical reagent, maintenance, training and quantity control, i.e. controlling the running cost in the beginning. This is a good method for controlling the running cost.
5.Perioperative Nursing of Sacral Neuromodulation for the Treatment of Neurogenic Bladder
Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2006;12(12):1048-1049
To summarize the experience about the preoperative and postoperative nursing of 11 cases with neurogenic bladder treated by sacral neuromodulation. The main nursing interventions of this procedure involved accurate recording of voiding diaries and postvoid residual, effective psychological nursing and health education of related disease information, standard videourodynamic examination. 11 patients acquired more or less benefit after the screening test and were discharged successfully, among them 2 cases had the permanent implantation of the stimulation device.

Aim To investigate the protective effect of compound total flavonoids on atherosclerosis in ApoE -/- knockout mice. Methods Seven-week old C57BL/6 mice considered of the normal group (n =1 5 );seven-week old ApoE -/- mice were fed with high-fat diet and were assigned randomly into 5 groups:model group, simvastatin group, the low com-pound flavonoids group, the middle compound fla-vonoids group and the high compound flavonoids group. After 1 6 weeks, mice serum and aortas were harvested. The formation of atherosclerotic plaque was analyzed by HE staining,The serum level of lipids pro-files and superoxide dismutase (SOD )were deter-rnined.The levels of IL-1 βand NF-κB in serum were detected by ELISA assay. Results Area of atheroscle-rotic lesion was significantly less in the compound fla-vones group than in model. The level of TC,TG,LDL-C,IL-1 β,NF-κB in serum of the compound flavonoids group were decreased significantly, while SOD and HDL-C increased significantly compared with the mod-el group, and the difference was significant (P <0.05).Conclusion The compound flavonoids have a good protective effect on early atherosclerosis in mice, which may be due to its alleviating effects on hyperlipi-demia and inflammation and oxidation.

Objectives 99mTc-methoxyisobutylisonitrile (MIBI) SPECT imaging technology was used to observe the condition of tumor cell in-taking imaging agent in the C57BL/6J mice Lewis lung cancer model before and after using Ginsenoside Rg3 (short for Rg3).We aimd so as to discuss the feasibility of using this method to evaluate tumor multidrug resistance (MDR) status. Methods Mice Lewis lung cancer models were randomly divided into Rg3 group and the control group. After applying Rg3,semi-quantitative analysis was made on 99mTc-MIBI SPECT imaging and region of interest (ROI) to observe the multidrug resistance state of tumor and then the results were compared with the detection results of flow cytometry. Results The tumor intake ratio (T/N) difference between the control group and the Rg3 group in imaging, imaging before applying Rg3 and imaging after applying Rg3 were separately 15,60 and 120 min.The differences were statistical significant (P < 0.01).The eliminate indexes (WR) of the control group and Rg3 group were positively related to P-gp protein expression positive cells detected by flow cytometry (P < 0.05).Conclusions 99mTc-MIBI imaging is negatively related to P-glycoprotein (P-gp) expression in mice Lewis lung cancer cells, which can clearly show the multidrug resistance state of tumors and dynamically monitor the effect of Rg3 on multidrug resistance reversion of mice Lewis lung cancer.

This study was to investigate the chemical constituents from pseudobulbs of Pleione yunnanensis, one of the source of traditional Chinese medicine "Shancigu". The chemical constituents were isolated by various chromatography methods, including silica gel, ODS, Sephadex LH-20, and semi-preparative HPLC. Fourteen compounds were isolated and identified from the EtOAc fraction of 90% ethanol extract, including five dihydrophenanthrenes, four bibenzyls, two triterpenoids, and three phenylacrylic acids. Their structures were identified on the basis of the spectral data as 4, 7-dihydroxy-2-methoxy-9,10-dihydrophenanthrene (1), 4, 7-dihydroxy-1-(p-hydroxybenzyl)-2-methoxy-9,10-dihydrophenanthrene (2), (2,3-trans)-2-(4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl) -3-hydroxymethyl-10-methoxy-2,3,4,5-tetrahydro-phenanthro[2,1-b]furan-7-ol (3), pleionesin B (4), blestriarene A (5), batatasin III (6), 3, 3'-dihydroxy-2-(p-hydroxybenzyl) -5-methoxybibenzyl (7), 3', 5-dihydroxy-2-(p-hydroxybenzyl) -3-methoxybibenzyl (8), 3,3'-dihydroxy-2,6-bis(4-hydroxybenzyl) -5-methoxybibenzyl (9), triphyllol (10), pholidotin (11), (E) -p-hydroxycinnamic acid (12), (E)-ferulic acid (13), and (E)-ferulic acid hexacosyl ester (14). Compounds 5,10-14 were separated from this plant for the first time.
