Objective This study was to assess the three-dimensional gross tumor volume(GTV)motion of lung cancer caused by respiration using four-dimensional computed tomography(4DCT),and to analyze the influenee factors.Methotis Four-DCT scans of 22 lung focuses in 21 patients with lung cancer were analyzed. The gross tumor volume was contoured in all 10 respiration phases of 4DCT scans. The changes in volume of GTV,the 3D motion of the centroid, boundary of GTV and the 3D spatial motion vectors were calculated and the irdluenee factors were analyzed. Results The average change in volume of GTV was+14.3%(0.2%.42.5%)/-8.4%(0.4%-38.6%),the average movement amplitude of GTV centroid and GTV boundary were(0.18±0.12)cm,(0.20±0.16)cm,(0.53±0.59)cm and(0.42±0.23)cm,(0.41±0.22)cm,(0.57±0.70)cm in medio-lateral,vertro-dorsal,cranio-caudal(CC) direction, respectively. The CC movement was larger than other directions(Z=-2.12,P=0.034;Z:-2.10,P=0.035),and no significant difference was observed in 3D motion of GTV boundary(Z=-0.81.P=0.417;Z=-0.86,0.391).The CC motion of GTV eentroid in lower lobe was larger than that in upper lobe[(0.87±0.64)and(0.35±0.49)cm,(t=-2.12,P=0.047)],and no significant difference was found in other directions[(0.23±0.10)and(0.19±0.18)em(t=-0.49,P=0.629),(0.21±0.13)and(0.17±0.11)cm(t=0.76,P=0.460)].There was no correlation of the 3D movement and 3D spatial motion vector of GTV to the volume of GTV(r=-0.306,-0.062,-0.279,-0.300;P=0.189,0.796.0.234,0.199).Conclusions GTV motion of patients with lung cancer is individual, the CC movement is the moat obvious, using 4DCT to assess is comparatively accurate. The motion amplitude of lower lobe focuses is larger. No significant correlation of the GTV motion to the volume was observed.Larger sample study is needed to analyze the influence of adjacency to the GTV motion.

OBJECTIVETo discriminate Descurainiae Semen and Pantagirus Semen.
METHODA high-performance liquid chromatographic method was developed to establish the fingerprint of Descurainiae Semen, and hierarchical cluster analysis (HCA) and partial least squares discriminant analysis (PLS-DA) were applied to study HPLC fingerprinting and chemical recognition.
RESULTThere exists large difference of chromatographic peaks and its relative peak area of HPLC fingerprints between Descurainiae Semen and Pantagirus Semen, and after conducting statistical analysis, the result demonstrated that all samples were classified into three categories: Descurainiae Semen, Pantagirus Semen and their mixtures.
CONCLUSIONThe developed HPLC fingerprint combined with chemometrics can be utilized to discriminate between Descurainiae Semen and Pantagirus Semen, which was quick, simple, accurate and reliable an can provide the basis for the characterization and quality assess of Descurainiae Semen and Pantagirus Semen.

"Tinglizi", the ripe seed of Descurainia sophia and Lepidium apetalum, is a member of Brassicaceae (Cruciferae). Traditionally, the former is called "Nantinglizi" (Descurainiae Semen) while the latter is called "Beitinglizi" (Lepidii Semen). In the theory of traditional Chinese medicine, it has the power to purge lung-fire, relieve dyspnea, promote diuresis and reduce edema, and it is mainly indicated in a case with phlegm-fluid accumulation, cough with excessive sputum, dyspnea with being unable to lie, and general swelling. In view of its wide-spread application in clinic, a comprehensive review of Lepidii Semen and Descurainiae Semen was conducted from the following aspects: herbalogical study, variety identification, historical evolution of processing, chemical constituents, pharmacological effects, quantitative determination and toxicity which could provide reference for further research and development of "Tinglizi".

Chinese Journal of Epidemiology 2005;26(6):408-411
OBJECTIVEThe aim of this study was to assess the knowledge, attitude, practice (KAP) on nutrition and related influencing factors among the "floating" women under pregnancy.
METHODS171 subjects in Chengdu, China were surveyed cross-sectionally by questionnaires.
RESULTSMost participants expressed a positive attitude towards nutrition and health, however, only 25.1% of the subjects under study had a better knowledge on nutrition and on healthy dietary practices. Frequency of the important foods (milk, egg, soy bean, nut, seafood etc.) intake were not enough during pregnancy. A significantly positive correlation was found between nutrition K, A and P (r = 0.322, 0.285, 0.173; P < 0.05). Level of education among the pregnant women under mobility and occupation of their husbands were the major contributing factors to their KAP level on nutrition (beta = 0.248, 0.312; P < 0.01). Medical staff, dietitians and specific books were the major sources of information on nutrition.
CONCLUSIONMore educational programs were needed to improve the knowledge and dietary behavior on nutrition to this population.

OBJECTIVETo explore the influence of knock-down of miR-21 expression on the radiosensitivity of radioresistant glioma SHG-44 cells and its mechanism.
METHODSRadioresistant cell line SHG-44(R) cells were established from radiosensitive parental SHG-44 glioma cells. Then the expression levels of miR-21 in SHG-44(R) and SHG-44 were determined by quantitative real-time PCR. The effect of miR-21 on the radiosensitivity was assessed in SHG-44(R) with miR-21 inhibitor to decrease the miR-21 expression.
RESULTSmiR-21 was up-regulated 1.49-fold in SHG-44(R) cells relative to the SHG-44 cells. But after transfection with As-miR-21, the miR-21 expression in SHG-44(R) cells was knocked down significantly. As-miR-21 combined with radiation could synergistically enhanced mitotic death and apoptosis of SHG-44(R) cells, with SER of D(0) and D(q) being equal to 1.48 and 1.54, respectively. Expression levels of caspase-3 in the radiation group, AS-miR-21 transfection group and combination group were 2.24 ± 0.14, 2.05 ± 0.19 and 5.72 ± 0.45, respectively, and its expression in the combination group was higher than that in the other two groups.
CONCLUSIONSmiR-21 may be involved in the formation of radioresistance of glioma cells and as a potential target for enhancing the response of radioresistant-glioma cells to radiotheapy.

This study is to investigate the treatment of YinQiaojiedu soft capsule for influenza virus A/PR8/34 (H1N1) infection. The model of pneumonia was established by dropping influenza virus into the nose of normal mice, and the lung index and death rate were observed. Real time RT-PCR and Western blotting technique were used to detect the virus load and the relative expression of M1 protein in lungs of mice on the 1st, 3rd, 5th and 7th day after infection. The results showed that YinQiaojiedu soft capsule in 1 g x kg(-1) and 0.5 g x kg(-1) dose groups can decrease the lung index significantly on the 3rd, 5th and 7th day after being infected (P < 0.05, P < 0.01), and the number of death in the two groups of animals decreased significantly. YinQiaojiedu soft capsule in 1 g x kg(-1) dose group can decreased virus load at each time point, and lower it in 0.5 g x kg(-1) dose group at the 3rd, 5th and 7th day (P < 0.05, P < 0.01). YinQiaojiedu soft capsule can decrease the relative expression of M1 protein in lungs of mice, 1 g x kg(-1) and 0.5 g x kg(-1) dose groups are significantly lower in expression of M1 protein compared with model group at the 3rd and 7th day (P < 0.05, P < 0.01). It can be concluded that YinQiaojiedu soft capsule exerts antiviral effects against influenza virus by downregulating expression of virus load and M1 protein.
