1.Correlations Among Nursing Professionalism, Critical Thinking Disposition and Self-leadership in Nursing Students.
Journal of Korean Academic Society of Nursing Education 2015;21(2):227-236
PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship among the factors of nursing professionalism, critical thinking disposition and self-leadership in nursing students. METHODS: The participants were 715 nursing students in tertiary education. Data was collected from March 10 to 14, 2014 using self-report questionnaires and analyzed through descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA and Pearson correlation coefficient with SPSS/win 17.0. RESULTS: The mean scores for nursing professionalism (3.48+/-.50), critical thinking disposition (3.14+/-.27), self-leadership (3.44+/-.40) were above average. There was a positive correlation between nursing professionalism and self-leadership (r=.452, p<.01) and between critical thinking disposition and self-leadership (r=.405, p<.001). CONCLUSION: The result of this study indicates that developing nursing professionalism and critical thinking disposition in nursing students is significant for improving their self-leadership. Therefore the findings suggest meaningful basic data for nursing education.

Journal of the Korean Radiological Society 1994;30(2):207-211
PURPOSE: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the gadolinium-enhanced MR imaging findings of cerebral venous angiomas, and to compare those findings with those of cerebral angiography. MATERIALS AND METHODS: We reviewed the findings of gadolinium-enhanced MR images of 11 cases with angiographically proved cerebral venous angiomas. We obtained Tl-and T2-weighted images with gadoliniumenhanced Tl-weighted images at a 0.5 T MR imager with a spin-echo technique. We analyzed the location and signal intensity of the lesion, pattern of contrast enhancement, the distribution of draining veins and medullary veins before and after contrast enhancement, and then compared with the findings of cerebral angiography. RESULTS: The characteristic central tubular signal void structure showed low signal intensity on Tl-weighted images and high signal intensity on T2-weighted images in all cases. After gadolinium enhancement, we could find a characteristic enhancement of all medullary and central veins in 7 cases. CONCLUSION: Gadolinium-enhanced MR image was useful in the diagnosis of venous angiomas especially in the detection of medullary veins. The invasive cerebral angiography could be replaced by this technique in this disease.

Journal of the Korean Radiological Society 1992;28(4):527-530
Measurement of various portions of the corpus callosum was performed on magnetic resonance(MR) images of 114 subjects with no known or suspected corpus callosal disorders. Midsagittal T1-weighted images used for measurements and mean diameters of various portions in each age and sex group were obtained. Measures of five portions were made : (A) the anterio-posterior length, (B) the diameter of genu portion, (C) the diameter of splenium, (D) the diameter of and mid-body portion, (E) the diameter of narrow portion at the body of corpus callosum. The mean diameter in each gender group for A, B, C, D, and E were 68.8mm, 12.1mm, 12.3mm, 6.9mm, 4.1mm in male and 69.9mm, 12.0mm, 12.1mm, 6.4mm, 4.1mm in female, respectively. The groups of 0-9 years of both genders showed the minimum mean value in each portion.

The Journal of the Korean Orthopaedic Association 1998;33(1):24-28
Despite continually improving results of total hip arthroplasty, infection remains the major debilitating complication. The treatments of infected total hip arthroplasty were variable. but initially we removed infected implants and inserted antibiotic containing cemented spacer so called PRSTALAC to prevent scar contracture and disuse osteoporosis. After 6 weeks later, control of infection was clinically and radiologically determined, we inserted new prosthesis with cement. Three weeks postoperatively, patient began touch down standing exercise. We observed infected total hip patient in whom hip had been salvaged successfuily with twostage implantation using so called "" PROSTALAC "" which was made with Moore stem.

6.Hope Enhancement Program for Increased Hope, Self-Efficacy, and Quality of Life for Mentally Ill Persons in Day Hospitals.
Journal of Korean Academy of Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing 2017;26(3):260-270
PURPOSE: In this study an investigation was done of the effects of a hope enhancement program on hope, self-efficacy, and quality of life for mentally ill persons in day hospitals. METHODS: Research design was a non-equivalent control group pre-post test design as a quasi-experimental study. The participants were selected from mentally ill persons at A day hospital and B day hospital in D city. They were 36 participants (18 in the experimental group and 18 in the control group). The study was conducted from March 17 to April 8, 2014. Data were analyzed using χ² test, Fisher's exact test, t-test, and independent sample t-test with IBM SPSS/WIN 19.0 Program. RESULTS: Participants in the hope enhancement program reported increased hope and higher quality of life scores, which were significantly different from those in the control group. Participants in the hope enhancement program also reported increased self-efficacy but it was not significantly different compared to the control group. CONCLUSION: Findings show that the hope enhancement program is effective in hope and quality of life for mentally ill persons in day hospitals. Therefore, use of the hope enhancement program will contribute as a meaningful nursing intervention for mentally ill persons in day hospitals.

7.Development and Effects of the Self-determination Improvement Program for Nursing Students' Professional Competence Enhancement
Journal of Korean Academy of Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing 2019;28(3):236-247
PURPOSE: The purposes of this study were to develop a self-determination improvement program for enhancing nursing students' professional competence and to evaluate effects of the intervention on nursing professionalism, communication skills, and career decision-making autonomy among nursing students. METHODS: The study was in a pre-test, post-test 1, and post-test 2 for a nonequivalent control group design. The participants were 56 students enrolled a nursing school or college (experimental group: 28; control group: 28). The self-determination improvement program was provided in 12 sessions over 4 weeks. Data was collected from August to September 2018. Data were analyzed using SPSS/WIN 25.0 program with χ² test, Fisher's exact test, the independent t-test, and repeated measurement ANOVA. RESULTS: Participants receiving the self-determination improvement program reported increased nursing professionalism, communication skills, and career decision-making autonomy that was significantly different from those in the control group. CONCLUSION: Our study findings suggest that the self-determination improvement program could be effective for enhancing career decision-making autonomy by strengthening nursing students' professionalism and communication skills. Nursing educational program based on self-determination may be helpful for nursing students who need to prepare themselves as competent nurses in future profession.

The Journal of the Korean Academy of Periodontology 1999;29(1):41-49
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the relationship between osteoporosis and periodontal condition in postmenopausal women. Twenty-eight patients who have been treated at Chonnam national university hospital with osteoporosis(osteoporotic group, mean age62.2+/-6.6) and 21 normal postmenopausal women with periodontitis(control group, mean age60.4+/-3.7) were examined. Bone mineral density(BMD) of lumbar spine(L2-L4) was measured by dual energy X-ray absorptiomemtry(DEXA). Percentage to peaked bone mass in osteoporotic group was 70.9% which had lower BMD than in control group(p<0.05). The number of present teeth were 23.6 in osteoporotic group and 23.1 in control group, Percentage of bleeding on probing was 41% in osteoporotic group and 37% in control group, probing depth and attachment level were shown 3.18 mm, 3.63 mm in osteoporotic group and 2.85mm, 3. 11 mm in control group, respectively. Probing depth and attachment level were significantly greater in osteoporotic group than in control group(p<0.05). The significant negative correlation was found between BMD level and periodontal attachment level(p<0,001, ?=-0. 56). These results suggest that osteoporosis may be associated with periodontal breakdown.
