Journal of Korean Neurosurgical Society 1990;19(10-12):1323-1328
The authors present 31 patient with acute epidural hematoma who had been admitted from January, 1987 to June. 1989 managed by consevative treatment. The results were as follows ; 1) The age of patients was distributed evenly, most patients were male (26 cases) and the most common mechanism of injury was traffic accidents(14 cases). 2) Sites of hematoma were mostly the temporal and parietal area and the maximum thickness of hematoma was not different from each site. 3) On admission, all patients presented GCS score above 13 except 2 cases. 4) All patients did not undergo delayed up, due to the enlargement of the hematoma or neurological deterioration. 5) The maximum thickness of hematoma was under 20 mm in all patients. 6) The hematoma was resolved within 30 days in all cases. This was confirmed with brain CT scan.

Korean Journal of Pathology 1986;20(2):191-194
A case of multiple myeloma associated with adenocarcinoma of the stomach was review. A 59-year, old Korean man had been abmitted to St. Mary's Hospital in January 1984, with chief complaint of posterior neck pain, and intermittent headache for one year prior to amission. Osteo lytic punched-out lesions were noted on skull and other skeletal x-ray films. Bone marrow aspirates revealed diffuse infiltration of mature and immature plasma cells. Laboratory findings revealed anemia and Bence-Jones proteinuria. Immunoelectrophoresis revealed findings consistent with IgA-lamda type multiple myloma. Alkylating agents and steroids were tried with some clinical improvements. In August 1985, the patient revisited outpatient clinic with chief complaints of epigastric pain and neck mass. Endoscopic biopsy and excision biopsy of the cervical lymph node were performed. By microscopic examination, adenocarcinoma of the stomach and metastasis of multiple myeoma to the supraclavicular lymph nodes were confirmed. Subtotal gastrectomy was performed. By gross and microscopic revealed metastasis to the regional lymph nodes.

Journal of Korean Academic Society of Nursing Education 2014;20(4):596-605
PURPOSE: This study aims to understand the influence of college entrance system-related factors and scores of college scholastic ability test on a first year nursing student's academic achievement. METHODS: Data collected include both a descriptive survey designed to assess college entrance system-related factors with respect to 182 nursing students attending a 4-year nursing college program and their test scores in the first year. The data were analyzed via descriptive statistics, Mann-Whitney U test, Kruskal-Wallis test with Bonferroni's correction, and Spearman's rank correlation coefficient through an SPSS 18.0 program. RESULTS: Student academic achievement with regard to college entrance system-related factors exhibited significant divergence from first year grade point averages (hereafter GPA) and natural science grades. CONCLUSION: This study confirmed the existence of significant differences, depending on the factors regarding the college entrance system. As a result, conducting assessment to evaluate the level of basic knowledge before college entrance is highly recommended. Also recommended is the development of a support program for students projected to have difficulties with respect to their academic achievement.

Journal of the Korean Fracture Society 2013;26(2):151-155
Proximal femoral nail anti-rotation (PFNA) with a lag screw that is shaped like a spiral blade shape is an orthopedic implant to fix trochanteric fractures of the proximal femur. In addition the reason of the biomechanical advantages, PFNA widely been used recently. We report an 83-year-old man with excessive sliding of the helical blade and a femoral neck fracture after AO/OTA type A2 intertrochanteric fracture, which was fixed with a PFNA.

Journal of the Korean Neurological Association 1987;5(1):97-102
This case, a 15-year-old female, is peculiar because she had more numerous characteristic lesions of tuberous sclerosis than other previous cases in Korea. In addition to the typical triad of tuberous sclerosis, she had shagreen patches, cafe-au-lait spot, angiomyolipomas in both kidneys, phacomas in both eyes, periventricular calcifications, and hydrocephalus due to a mass around the foramen of Monro. Biopsy, taken after complete removal of a mass around the foramen of Monro, revealed hamartoma which was made up of subependymal giant cell astrocytoma, gliosis, and spongioblastoma. With reviewing some of literatures, we present a case of the tuberous sclerosis.
