One hundred and fifty cases of gouty arthritis were divided into two groups.Treatment group(85 cases) were treated with Tong Feng lotion and control group(65 cases)with external application of Voltaren. Results indicated that Tong Feng lotion could improve clinical symptoms and function of joints, and decrease blood sedimentation, reaction protien C,blood uric acid and blood viscosity; the total effective rate was 89.42% in the treatment group and 75.38% in the control group, with significant difference between the two groups(P<0.05); there was no obvious relation between therapeutic effects and TCM syndrome types.
2.Clinical Observation on 60 Cases of Chronic Pulmonary Heart Disease at Acute Attack Stage Treated with Fei Xin Ning Mixture Conbined with Western Medicine Therapy
Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine 2001;42(2):89-91
Sixty cases of chronic pulmonary heart disease at acute attack stage in the treatment group and 60 cases of the control group were treated with oxygen-inspiration, relieving spasm and asthma,anti-infection, and correcting respiratory failure and heart failure as basic treatment. Self-made Chinese drug Fei Xin Ning Mixture was added to the treatment group. In the two groups,15 days constituted one course.Plasma endothelin-1(ET-1) level and hemorheologic indices were determined before and after treatment. Results indicated that the markedly effective rate, effectice rate and the total effective rate in the treatment group were 73.33%,20% and 93.34% respectively, and 35%,33.34% and 68.34% in the control group, with significant difference in the total effective rate between the two groups(P<0.01).Plasma endothelin-1 level after treatment in the treatment group was significantly lower than that in the control group(P<0.01),and the hemorheologic indices in the treatment group decreased significantly as compared with those before treatment or after treatment in the control group(P<0.05 or P<0.01).It is suggested that Fei Xin Ning Mixture can obviously increase the total effective rate and decrease plasma endothelin-1 level and improve blood rheology for chronic pulmonary heart disease at acute attack stage, and it has a better therapeutic effect than that of the simple Western medicine treatment.

In order to study on the theory of " phlegm and blood stasis having same source" and effects of drugs for resolving phlegm on blood rheology, effects of Ban Xia, Gua Lou, Zhe Bei Mu and Shi Chang Pu on whole blood viscosity, erythrocyte deformation index and plasma fibrinogen content in normal rats. Results indicated that the drugs.for resolving phlegm had functions of decreasing whole blood viscosity, inhibiting hemoagglutination (except Gua Lou) and increasing capability of erythrocyte deformation; at high shearing rate, Shi Chang Pu and Zhe Bei Mu could slightly increase whole blood viscosity: Shi Chang Pu increased slightly plasma fibrinogen content. It is suggested that resolving phlegm also can removing blood stasis, and the mechanism of the drug for resolving phlegm in decreasing blood viscosity is related with decrease of blood lipids and anti - peroxidation of lipids.

5.Clinical study on modified Wei Er Fang for treatment of 30 cases of gastric precancerous lesion
Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine 1993;0(04):-
For observation on clinical therapeutic effect of modified Wei Er Fang on gastric precanceraus lesion (GPL), 90 cases of GPL were divided into 3 groups, the treatment group treated with modified Wei Er Fang, the control group I treated with Wei Fu Chuan and the control group I with Bismuth subcitrate, 30 cases each group. Results indicated that the total effective rate for clinical symptoms was 96. 67% in the treatment group which was significant different from 60. 00% in the control group I (P 0. 05), but the therapeutic effect on heterotypic proliferation in the treatment group was superior to those in the two control groups. It is showed that modified Wei Er Fang has a better action of reversing gastric precancerous lesion.

Objective: To investigate effects of Fang Ji Huang Qi Capsules on the level of blood uric acid and blood pressure in the patient of primary hypertension of type of stagnation of phlegm, Methods: 61 patients were divided into the treatment group (34 cases) treated with Fang Ji Huang Qi Capsules plus Norvasc and the control group (27 cases) treated with Norvasc. They were treated for 6 weeks and blood uric acid level, dynamic blood pressure and TCM clinical symptoms were observed. Results: The blood uric acid level decreased significantly, the valley to peak ratio of dynamic blood pressure increased and cumulative score of TCM clinical symptoms decreased significantly in the treatment group as compared with the control group (P
7.Study on correlativity of blood physical and chemical properties with TCM syndrome types in the patient of coronary heart disease with blood stasis syndrome
Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine 1993;0(05):-
Objective: To probe into essence of syndrome types of blood stasis syndrome. Methods: High shearing whole blood viscosity (?HB). low shearing whole blood viscosity (?LB), plasma viscosity (?P), aggregation index of erythrocyte (AI), hematocrit (HCT) and levels of serum total cholesterol (CH), triglyceride (TG), plasma fibrinogen (Fb), prostacyclin (PGI2), thromboxane (TXA2) were determined in 216 cases of coronary heart disease with blood stasis syndrome. Results: ?LB and AI increased and PGI2/TXA2 ratio decreased significantly in the group of stagnation of Qi and stasis of blood, showing high aggregation state of blood: CH, HCT, Fb, AI and ?LB increased significantly in the group of blood stasis due to Yin -deficiency, showing high concentration, high agglutination and high aggregation state of blood : ?LB, ?P and TG increased significantly in the group of stagnation of phlegm and blood, showing high viscosity state of blood; only ?HB had some increase in the group of Qi - deficiency and blood stasis . Conclusion: Different syndrome types of blood stasis syndromehave different biochemical material base, and changes of blood physical and chemical properties are closely related with TCM syndrome types, which provides an experimental basis for treatment of subtypes of blood stasis syndrome.
