1.Various systems of staging of hepatocellular carcinoma
Journal of Medical and Pharmaceutical Information 2004;0(7):4-8
System of clinical staging of hepatocellular carcinoma plays an important role in evaluating the condition of patient and choosing treatment method. It also is basic to compare different study groups and studies. In the world, there are various systems of staging hepatocellular carcinoma. However, TNM and Okuda are the most classical systems. Some countries have recently built up their own systems such as Child-Pugh, Okuda, CLIP, VISUM-HCC (Austria) and BCLC (Spain). In these systems, CLIP is the most preeminent. It shows completely all prognosis factors of hepatocellular carcinoma

2.The status and solution for improving theclearing procedure of health care insurance cost
Journal of Medical and Pharmaceutical Information 2004;0(7):8-12
The clearing procedure of health care insurance cost in Viet Nam is actually basing on ceiling-limited service cost. Many limitations are shown in this clearing procedure. Moreover, the hospital cost frame which was promulgated according to the interministerial circular N0 14/TTLB between the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Finance is not appropriate. Items of health expenditure are increasing. In this article, some solutions for improving the clearing procedure are presented such as replacing this clearing procedure by predetermined portions or diagnosis groups. However, it is necessary to implement short-term and long-term solutions for improving the clearing procedure of health care insurance cost by service

3.Assessment of pH of gastric juice in patients with gastro-duodenal erosion or ulcer at Bac Giang General Hospital
Journal of Medical and Pharmaceutical Information 2004;0(7):18-21
This is a study to build up a technical procedure for taking gastric juice via gastroscope and measuring pH on 438 patients with gastro-duodenal erosion or ulcer at Bac Giang General Hospital. Results: the technique of taking gastric juice by leading the tip of gastroscope in the “liquid puddle” and then sucking gastric juice through biopsy canal by a syringe of 100ml had been 94.6% successful; this technique is simple and easy to do. Measuring pH of gastric juice on 363 patients with gastro-duodenal erosion or ulcer found no patient with pH<1; over 80% of them were found with gastric juice pH 1 to 3; pH of gastric juice has no relation with age and sex

4.Thymosin-a 1 for treatment of chronic hepatitis B
Journal of Medical and Pharmaceutical Information 2004;0(7):21-24
A study on 56 patients with chronic hepatitis B who were divided into 2 groups: study group and control group. The study group including 31 patients was treated with Thymosin-α1 1.6mg/day, twice a week for 6 months. The control group with 25 patients of same clinical data was treated with common liver-protective drugs. Both groups were monitored and assessed after 24 months. The results showed that the study group with treatment of Thymosin-α1 is better than control one in all aspects of ALT normalization, sero-conversion and decrease of HBV-DNA<5 copies/ml

5.300 cycles of sperm retrieval from the epididymis and the testis for the intracytoplasmic sperm injection
Journal of Medical and Pharmaceutical Information 2004;0(7):24-30
In this cross-sectional retrospective study, 300 cycles of sperm retrieval from the epididymis and the testis on 213 patients for the intracytoplasmic sperm injection at the Infertility Department of Tu Du Hospital from March 2003 to May 2004 were examined. The results showed that: 100% cycles with embryos and the pregnancy rate of 47.9%; there is no complication except a mild scrotal discomfort lasting a few days after open surgery; percutaneous epididymal sperm aspiration (PESA) was the most performed retrieval technique (61%), which was easy-done, quickly-performed, safe and effective

6.The role of Hysterosalpingography (HSG) using intensify X-ray unit in the diagnosis of tubal infertility
Journal of Medical and Pharmaceutical Information 2004;0(7):30-34
The goal of this study is to evaluate the role and the safety of hysterosalpingography (HSG) technique using intensify X-ray unit and automatic contrast injector in diagnosis of tubal infertility on 200 patients at the Military Hospital No 103 from Sept 2002 to Sept 2004. Results: the technique is highly effective in the diagnosis of tubal infertility with accuracy rate of 90.4% compared with laparoscopy. No complications but there were only 3 cases had infection in the uterus due to no antibiotic was used after HSG

7.The validity of HSG for the diagnosis of tubal occlusion
Journal of Medical and Pharmaceutical Information 2004;0(7):34-37
The study was carried out on 219 infertility patients having hysterosalpingography (HSG) before surgery at Tu Du Hospital from Sept 2002 to May 2003 to evaluate the validity of HSG for the diagnosis of proximal and distal tubal occlusion. Results: HSG is highly valuable for diagnosis of proximal tubal patency, in case with proximal tubal occlusion it should be referred to laparoscopy. The role of HSG for diagnosis of distal tubal occlusion without hydrosalpinx is limited. In contrast, HSG is highly valuable in diagnosis of hydrosalpinx

10.The accessibility of primary health care and the reality of reproductive health care service use for women in rural areas
Journal of Medical and Pharmaceutical Information 2004;0(9):25-29
The study was conducted at commune health care stations in 10 provinces of 7 ecological areas of Vietnam. Results showed that: the accessibility of health care service hasn't meet the demand, the health care service provision and use for women in the rural communes has many limits, there has been the obvious gender inequality in health expenditures, the essential reproductive health care for women in rural communes is insufficient and under the National standards. It is necessary to enhance the quality of health care service in general, reproductive health care for women at reproductive age in rural areas in particular, complete research methodology on health care service accessibility and use in the public
