Objective:To identify the cerebral activation patterns associated with the processes that occur during viewing Chinese and English words in native Chinese English learners.Methods:12 right-handed Chinese English hamers were divided into two groups equally, namely English majors and non-English majors, and took semantic judgement tasks of both English and Chinese words, for whom the fMRI images were coUected. Results:To various degrees, all subjects demonstrated activation of associated cerebral regions in both hemispheres and the left hemisphere activation was more significant for most subjects.Except for elassieal regions involved in language processing, such as Wemicke areas and Broca areas, there were other activated cerebral regions, including cerebellum, limbic system and basal ganglia nucleus, etc. To sum up,there were apparent overlap for cerebral activation distribution and no specific processing areas for both tasks. The analysis of ROI(region of interest)suggested that subjects in specialized group were more dependent on right hemisphere to perform English words task.Conclus/on:Language cognition is dominated by left hemisphere, which is also shared by the right hemisphere to various degrees and thus two hemispheres work by ways of both dissociation and coordination. It is possible that working strategy of the right hemisphere in English task is related to proficiency of the second language.A variety of distinctions are shared by each subject for language cognitive patterns.

Objective:It intended to examine whether there is BDV infection in the human tumor tissues of central nervous system in China and investigate the correlation between BDV infection and tumom of central nervous system. Methods:Nested reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction(nRT-PCR)and fluorescence quantitative polymerase chain reaction(FQ-PCR)was used to detect the BDV p24 fragments in 60 samples of human tumor tissues of central nervous system and 14 normal brain tissues. Results:The study indicated the positive rate of the BDV p24 fragment in human tumor tissues of the central nervous system (6.67%)was higher than that in normal brain tissues(0),but no statistical significance(P>0.05).Concluswn:It suggests that the BDV infection is present in the human tumor tissues of central nervous system in China.while the sample size wa.sn't large enough and we could not certify the possible correlation between BDV infection and cenfral nervous system tumors.
3.Positive effects of classification teaching method on motivation
Journal of Chongqing Medical University 2000;25(z1):116-117,120
It is generally agreed that motivation is one of the most important factors influencing the students success or failure in learning a language. Motivation, according to Harmer, is an internal drive that encourages the learner to pursue a course of action(1983: 3). Expressed more colloquially, when students perceive an attractive goal that they wish to achieve, they may do whatever is necessary to reach it. Then they are strongly motivated. This article aims at introducing the classification teaching method into English teaching. Studies suggest that classification teaching method has positive effects on motivation.
4.The effect of resveratrol combined with arabinosylcytosin in K562 cell Fas/FasL and survivin expression
Journal of Chongqing Medical University 1986;0(03):-
Objective:This study was aimed to explore the apoptotic effect the K562 cells treated by resveratrol and/or arabinosylcytosin.Methods:Fas/FasL expressian was detected by immunohistochemical method and survivin expression was detected by RT-PCR in K562 cells,48 hours after treatment by resveratrol and arabinosylcytosin respectively. Results: Fas/FasL expression in K562 cells, treated by resveratrol and arabinosylcytosin respectively, was significantly increased compared with the control group(P0.05),contrary to FasL expression(P0.05).Conclusions:In conclusion the resveratrol and/or arabinosylcytosin could upregulate Fas/FasL expression and activate the apoptosis pathway of Fas/FasL to induce the apoptosis of K562 cells. It could downregulate the expression of survivin to promote apoptosis. The two drugs had synergistic effect.
5.LITHIUM RATIO IN LITHIUM CARBONATE TREATMENT OF MANIA
Journal of Chongqing Medical University 1986;0(03):-
This paper reports 39 cases of manic patients treated with lithium carbonate or lithium carbonate plus chlorpromazine. Levels of plasma lithium, sodium and potassium, erythrocyte lithium and lithium ratio -were determined when the blood lithium had reached the steady state and continued 4 weeks of treatment respectively. The mean duration of ditcontinuing chlorpromazine at the second time of determination in the combined drug group was 17?8.5 days.We found most lithium treated patients (83%) who got improvement or remission showed elevation of their lithium ratio. On the average, chlorpromazine can increase the erythrocyte lithium by 31 % and lithium ratio by 20%. Plasma lithium, erythrocyte lithium and lithium ratio were in positive correlation. Sex, family history, Plasma sodium and potassium level showed no correlation with their lithium ratio
6.THE TRANSFERABLE AND IMMUNOLOGICAL STUDIES ON SHOCK TOXIN
Journal of Chongqing Medical University 1986;0(02):-
For transferable and immunologieal studies on shock toxin (lethal faetor), a hind limbs ischemia tourniquet shock in rats has been examined. The blood of rats subjectd to severe shock transfused into mild shock rats has not significantly increased the mortality of the latter. Both the recruited plasma from shock rats and the plasma from the rats immunized with severe shork plasma had no therapeutic effects on tourniquet shock. It therefore appears that there is no specific and immunogenic shock toxin produced in the tourniquet shock in rats
7.STUDYING MATHEMATICAL MODELS OF THE TEMPERATURE CONTROL ON FERTILITY OF THE HAEMAPHYSALIS LONGICORNIS
Journal of Chongqing Medical University 1986;0(02):-
By the method of system identification, in this paper the mathematical models of the temperature control on fertility of the hasmaphysalis longicornis is established, and some predictions and estimations are given. The differences' between, the models and other models in the siminlar area are that, the models are coatinuous and differantiable other than segmented and undifferentiable
8.EFFECTS OF SODIUM PUMP K~+-pNPPase ACTIVITY IN RAT BRAIN AND KIDNEY BY THE URINE FROM PATIENTS WITH HEPATITIS
Journal of Chongqing Medical University 1986;0(02):-
We find that K+-pNPPase from brain of rats is inhibited by the urine of patients with hepatitis, and of the control, desalted through a sephadex G-23 colum n.the percentage of inhibition showed as I%[I%=(1-Vi/Vo)?100%] was 59.9 ? 8.9 (n= 9) from patients with fulminant hepaticfailure (If), and was 84.1 ? 9.4 (n = 10) from chronic active hepatitic patients (Ic), The control (In) was 70.6?15,2 (n=13).It showed that the inhibition of FHF urine was less marked than that of CAH.P
9.THE USE OF ATRACURIUM IN CLINICAL ANAESTHESIA
Journal of Chongqing Medical University 1986;0(04):-
Auacurium has been used in 107 patients during i. v. procaine balanced anesth- esia. The results show that atracurium facilitates tracheal intubation with only slight cardiovascular affect,it produces satosfactory muscle relaxaction and quick recovery from anesthesia .Its action and recovery from anesthesia are not markedly affected by functional disorder of liver and kidney, cardio-yascular diseases, age of patient and long-standing operation.
10.THE USE OF TOTAL PARENTERAL NUTRITON (TPN) IN SURGICAL PATIENTS
Journal of Chongqing Medical University 1986;0(04):-
A series of 61 patients are presented, among them 38 patients(twenty with cancer of esophagus, two with cancer of cardia, four with cancer of the upper part of st- omach, and radical resection were done in all of them)have been supported by TPN during perioperative and postoperative period, none of leakage at the anastomostic stoma occured; five paients with external fistulas of the alimentary tract supported by TPN healed spontaneously in four, operative closure of fistula was necessary in one, and all were cured. TPN was used in other 18 patients with miscellaneous disease, among them two of the patients with acute haemorrhagic pancreatitis were cured. One patient with major nutritional problem is presented in detail, for whom TPN had been continued for 225 days.
