1.A STUDY ON TMJ DISC POSITION- Evaluation of the anterior disc displacement by GC+ line-.
Journal of the Korean Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons 1997;23(3):515-534
The present study proposes a method delineating the extent of the anterior displacement of the temporomandibular articular disc through the angle formed by the deepest point in the glenoid fossa, the center of the mandibular condyle and the junction between the end of the posterior band and the retrodiscal tissue. The method was applied to the normal group and TMD group. The TMD group was further divide into 3 groups Group I(little disc displacement), Group II(anterior disc displacement with reduction) and Group III(anterior disc displacement without reduction). The results were as follows. 1. The normal group showed the location of the articular disc within -10-0degree or with a wider allowance, within -10-10degree from the reference line GC. 2. The TMD group showed the disc located within -21.0-125.8degree,with two peaks at 0-100 and 60-800, suggesting that the group may be composed of more than two different subgroups. 3. The threshold point delineating the normal and TMD states was 0degree, because 82.5% of normal group appeared below 0degree and 94.8% of TMD group appeared above 0degree. 4. Since the angular disc displacement tends to increase from Group I to Group III, the angular displacement increases as the overall severiety of the disease increases, and the chance for a reduction of the disc decreases. 5. The normal group, Group I, Group II, and Group III can be categorized into statistically different groups. The normal group and TMD group can be distinguished in reference to 0degree, while the presence-absence of the anterior disc displacement is judged in reference to 10degree, and the probability of the disc reduction can be estimated in reference to 50degree. The present study assesses the location of the articular disc from the sagittal central section offering a supplementary clinical classification. This system provides an additional information concerning the location of the disc, thereby offering an objective mean to evaluate the progress of the disease. Further studies may be needed on the clinical changes according to location of the disc, as well as the relationship between the morphological changes and the anterior or sideways displacement of the disc.

Journal of the Korean Ophthalmological Society 1967;8(3):27-29
The effect of IDU and cryocautery in the treatment of Herpes Simplex Keratitis was presented. The cryoapplicator was a model of Krwawlcz probe (2 mm in diameter) which was refrigerated in a mixture of dry ice and methyl alcohol. The applicator was appJied on the lesions 7 seconds each and antibiotics and atropine solutions were instilled. A good result was experienced in the treatment of several cases of dendritic kenititis by freezing the corneal lesions by means of cryoappJicator, which had not been responded to IDU therapy speedy. The deep neovascularization of the cornea in a case of stromal keratitis was disappeared after cryocautery for the treatment of the superficial corneal ulcers.

Journal of the Korean Ophthalmological Society 1969;10(2):23-26
Muscle transplanation surgery is presently widely accepted as a good precedure not only for cosmetic, but also for functional results, a concept to which Marina's observations on the absence of fixed and predetermined functions in the nuclei and associated tracts of the oculomotor system give great support; however, not everyone is in agreement with this concept. This paper report one case in which the total transplantation of the vertical rectus muscles midway between their insertions and the insertion of the lateral rectus muscle were carried out, in addition recession of the medial rectus muscle and resection of the paralyzed lateral rectus muscle. Our case have been followed up during 8 months to rule out late complications, aspecially ocular movement and diplopia. No late complications, however, have been found up to remaining underaction of the right superior and inferior oblique muscles and also medial rectus muscle. The eyes were straight with abduction of the right eye up to 40 prism diopters. Binocular vision was present and there was no diplopia. The cosmetic result was excellent.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 1977;15(4):453-457
Cheilitis granulomatosa is one of the rare dermatoses which is characterized by a sudden onset and a progressive course termination in chronic enlargement of the lips Usually, enlargement of lip is the only symtom without ulceration, fissurign or scaling. It may be considered a part of the Melkersson-Rosenthal syndrome and the etiology is still unknown. A 35 year old female with the clinlcal symptoms of cheilitis granulomatosa is presented; the diagnosis was confirmed by histopathologic study.

The Journal of the Korean Orthopaedic Association 1977;12(3):387-393
In 1961, Salter had devised the innominate osteotomy in treating C.D.H, which has been one of the most popular methods in these days. 14 hips with 12 patients who have been admitted and received Salters innominate osteotomy in the department of orthopaedic surgery, National Medical Center, from Feb. 1974 to Dec. 1976, were evaluated as for the results. Clinical analysis and follow-up study were carried out in 14 hips with C.D.H. and the following results were obtained. The mean age of the cases was 34 months, and sex preponderance of female to male was 11: 1. The ratio of left to right was not significantly different. 2 cases of complication out of 12 cases was found; redislocation and subluxaiton respectively. The age of first detection of C.D.H., was surprisingly late around 18 months old. In addition, approximately 12 months has elapsed between the first detection of C.D.H. and the first consultation to doctor. Assesment of the result was carried out by Severine and Macays method respectively; Radiological evaluation was as followings: (Severine) Excellent: 4, Good: 8, Fair: 1, Poor: 1. Clineal evaluation was as followings: (Macay) Excellent: 4, Good: 7, Fair: 1, Poor; 1, Failure: 1.
