2.Clinical Study with Descresept(R).
Korean Journal of Dermatology 1976;14(2):97-100
The 16 out of 19 cases with combined oral administration oral of Descrespet and Tetracycline hydrochloride were considerably more effective in treatment of severe acne than Tetracycline hydrochloride alone or placebo in this study. 10 cases of atopic dermatitis and 6 severe acne with side effect for tetracycline hydrochlorid, such as aMominal discomfortness, also treated with Descresapt: 7 cases of atopic dermatitis and 4 acne cleared definitely faster than in patient not given Descresept Conclusively, it is cnosidered that the Descresept is effective in the tretment of severe acne and atopic dermatitis.

3.A Case of Hereditary Anhidrotic Ectodermal Dysplasia.
Korean Journal of Dermatology 1973;11(2):69-72
A case of hereditary anhidrotic ectodermal dysplasia associated with atopic dermatitis in 16 month old male is reported. He has been suffered from multiple symptoms of anhidrosis, hypotrichosis, anodontia and atopic dermatitis. The skin showed pale, shiny, thin and dry and hairless on whole body except in the scalp. Without sweat gland and flattening of epidermis on skin biopey is compatible with an hereditary anhidrotic ectodermal dysplasia.

4.A Case ofFamilial Benign Chronic Pemphigus.
Korean Journal of Dermatology 1974;12(4):245-248
A case of familiar benign chronic pemphigus is reported. A 41 years old housewife has recurrent history of developing grouped vesicular eruptions with erythematous erosion on the intertrigenous area since 29 years of her age. The lesions were used to aggrevated in summer and improved in autumn. Familiar history revealed same disease of her grand mother, father, 44 year old elder sister and 39 year old younger sister. All of whom had similar clinical signs and symptoms. Routine physical and laboratoryfindings were within normal limits. The histopathological findings, from vesicular eruption of the lateral aspect of neck, showed multilocular suprabasal clefts with acantholsis, villi formation and hyperkeratosis. The lesions were-improved hy the local application of corticosteroidoid ointment only.

Journal of the Korean Radiological Society 1993;29(5):944-948
The use of intravacular catheterization for both diagnostic and therapeutic purposes increased the incidence of iatrogenic foreign bodies, which might cause many complications such as cardiac arrythmias, perforation of cardiac chamber or blood vessels, sepsis and thromboembolism. The authors experienced 5 cases of successful retrieval of intravascular iatrogenic foreign bodies: three cases of subclavian catheter wire and two cases of subclavian catheter. Subclavian catheter was introduced into right subclavian venous route for hyperalimentation or central venous pressure monitoring. The foreign bodies were located in superior vena cava and inferior vena in four cases and in left main pulmonary artery in the other case. We have successufully removed the foreign bodies by interventional procedures. The loop-snare technique is a safe and effective method for retrieval of iatrogenic foreign bodies in great vessels.

7.Study of Fingerprint Arches in Alopecia Areata.
Korean Journal of Dermatology 1987;25(1):84-90
Alopecia areata(AA) is a common dermatologic disease, the origin of which is still unknown. At least, it has been associated with some genetic influences in the etiopathogenesis. We have now evaluated AA patients to study the actual association of the genetic role by fingerprint analysis. The incidences of six or more arches were determined in 74 female and 86 male patients excluding alopecia totalis and universalis, and in healthy 167 female controls, based on Selmanowitz's thesis (1974). The results of this study are follows: 1. The difference between the frequency in AA patients(7. 5%) and in controls (3.3%) reaches the statistical significance(p<0.05 by x2-test). 2. The association of genetic background in AA is strengthened in the group of female patients(p<0. 01), recurrent episode(p<0.01). and multiplex farm (p<0.01). 3. Twenty patients(12. 5%) have family history. The incidence in 3(15.0%) of these patients is considerably common but not statistically significant. A correlation of biologic relevance and family predisposition in AA is not precluded. 4. The frequency of arches in patients and in controls is increased on both second fingers and decreased on both fourth fingers. It is more common on both second and left third fingers in female patients. The incidence of arches averages about 6 67% in patients and 4. 58% in controls.

8.Evaluation of Health Status of College Students by Cornell Medical Index : In Conjunction with their Academic Grade.

Korean Journal of Preventive Medicine 1977;10(1):52-58
By evaluating the health status by Cornell Medical Index in conjunction with their academic grade, we attempted to find out whether any health condition may affect on their academic carrier. CMI health questionnaire was filled out by student and matched with one's own academic score of the previous year. Academic score was classified into 5 grades: excellent, very good, good, fair and poor. Difference in number of questions between sections was corrected by standard score method with means of 50 and standard deviation of 10. Differences in number of "yes" answers between sections and between groups of students in each grade were statistically tested by two-way variance analysis method. On the other hand, influence of neuropsychiatric factors (section M-R) on the academic carrier was analyzed by X2-test with Fukamachi's classification. The following were the results obtained in this study : 1) Number of "yes" answers in sections related to mood and feeling pattern(section M-R) were appeared to be influential to academic carrier in male students, but not in female students. 2) Generally speaking, in groups of higher academic grade, number of "yes" answers in each section was on an average 50 or less, and in groups of lower academic grade, the number was 50 or more depending on sections. 3)Number of "yes" answers between sections and between groups in each academic grade were significantly different both in male and female college students. 4) It was noteworthy that data obtained from CMI questionnaire might be variable subjective by examines with some factors at the time of administration.

10.A Study of Triage Nurse Systems in the Emergency Department.
Journal of Korean Academy of Adult Nursing 1998;10(1):184-197
Emergency nursing intervention should be provided to patients under fatal status with much quickness and accuracy. To improve the quality of emergency medical service, triage nurse systems, being implemented in advanced hospitals which successfully provide effective emergency services, are considered in this thesis. A triage nurse is defined as a nurse who first and immediately meets the patient at the very entrance of emergency department, and performs proper intervention according to the extent of injury. Triage functions include interviewing patients, physical evaluation, classifying patients, assigning nurses/doctors, and beds, performing preliminarily required tests and remedies, re-evaluation of waiting patients, emotional supports, arranging future medical services, and education. In Korea, triage nurse systems have not yet been introduced, however, some prleminary types of triage systems are being practised. The purpose of this thesis was to review the triage functions implemented in Korean emergency department and then to suggest a model of triage nurse system for Korean emergency departments. For field study, 10 emergency departments in Seoul, which have more than 13 nurses, are selected, and a nurse who have more than 1 year experience in emergency department was interviewed from each workshift, i.e. day, evening, and night. Data collection taken 17 days from Apr. 8 to Apr. 30, 1996. In the field study, we reviewed the triage functions performed in Korean emergency departments. 40.9% of interviewed nurses show that the triage functions are performed by general nurses, 18.42% and 10.15% indicate that the functions were performed by charge nurses and assigned nurses, respectively. Thus, triage nurse systems where pre-assigned nurses consistently perform triage functions were not yet introduced in Korean emergency departments. However, 96.7% of the nurses answered that triage systems are needed in their emergency departments and 82.77% showed that triage functions would be performed at the entrance of emergency department. A triage nurse systems will unload stresses which both patients and supporters cope with, provide secure and comfortable medical environments, and reduce the waiting time. Finally, it may be improve the patients' and supporters' satisfaction. Therefore, this study provides basic data to enhance emergency medical services and leads to a future study to implement and extend specialized nursing systems in emergency departments.
