By evaluating the health status by Cornell Medical Index in conjunction with their academic grade, we attempted to find out whether any health condition may affect on their academic carrier. CMI health questionnaire was filled out by student and matched with one's own academic score of the previous year. Academic score was classified into 5 grades: excellent, very good, good, fair and poor. Difference in number of questions between sections was corrected by standard score method with means of 50 and standard deviation of 10. Differences in number of "yes" answers between sections and between groups of students in each grade were statistically tested by two-way variance analysis method. On the other hand, influence of neuropsychiatric factors (section M-R) on the academic carrier was analyzed by X2-test with Fukamachi's classification. The following were the results obtained in this study : 1) Number of "yes" answers in sections related to mood and feeling pattern(section M-R) were appeared to be influential to academic carrier in male students, but not in female students. 2) Generally speaking, in groups of higher academic grade, number of "yes" answers in each section was on an average 50 or less, and in groups of lower academic grade, the number was 50 or more depending on sections. 3)Number of "yes" answers between sections and between groups in each academic grade were significantly different both in male and female college students. 4) It was noteworthy that data obtained from CMI questionnaire might be variable subjective by examines with some factors at the time of administration.

Two cases of hyperlipoproteinemia is reported, Hyperlipoproteinemia is characterized by various kinds of cutaneous xanthomatosis associated with or without arteriosclerotic changes due to increasing lipoprotein fraction of the serum. Case I . 37-year old housewife had multiple, pea to nut sized, various shaped, cutaneous and subcutaneous nodular masses has been developed last 3 years. Some of her family member have similar symptoms. Serum cholesterol level was 790 mg% and serum triglyceride level was 270 mg% after 14 hour fasting. Case II. 52-year old housewife was suffered from pea sized, multiple, subcutaneous nodular and cutaneous eruptions last 2 years. There was no family histories. Serum cholesterol level was 895 mg% and serum triglyceride level was 350 mg% after 14 hour fasting. Typical Touton giant cells were found in biopsy specimens taken from cutaneous lesons. ECG, X-ray, glucose toleranc test and other laboratory examinations showed within normal limits. Tne agarose electrophoresis pattern of serum lipoprotein fractions are very similiar with that of hyperlipoproteinemia type II. These two patients were treated with nicotinic and 1. 0 gm and clofibrate 2.0 gm daily by mouth and restricted animal fatty foods. Total serum cholesterol level was markedly decreasea 2 months after treatment in case I.

Neuroarthropathy has infrequently been associated with diabetic patients. The initial presenting symptoms are in most cases the peripheral neuropathy involving chiefly the sensory components of peripheral nerves, leading to numbness, hyper-or paresthesia, and coldness of the extremity affected. The diabetic arthropathy, once occurred, is apt to show progressive deterioration of the function with destruction of both skeletal and supporting soft tissues Two cases of such arthropathy were presented here, the one was observed in a 29-year-old man with involvement of the left fourth and fifth tarsometatarsal joints and a large ulcer on the dorsal skin of the lesion, and the other in a 35-year-old man with destruction of the right ankle joint. Both of them showed remarkable remission of the symptoms with conservative measures such as arch support, cast immobilization and skin graft.

Mirizzi syndrome is an uncommon cause of obstructive jaundice. It consists of the following elements: (1) an anatomic arrangement of the cystic duct such that it lies almost parallel to the common hepatic duct, (2) impaction of a gallstone in the cystic duct or neck of the gall bladder, (3) partial mechanical obstruction of the common hepatic duct by the stone itself or the resulting inflammatory reaction, and (4) recurrent cholangitis or ultimately cholangitic cirrhosis due to the partial obstruction. Acquired port-wine stain is rare. It mimics a congenital port-wine stain morphologically but the pattern of onset is acquired after birth. It represents a progressive ectasia of vessels located in the superficial vascular plexus. The exact mechanism is unknown but some reported cases have occurred after trauma. We herein report five cases of acquired port-wine stains and they were idiopathic in nature.
