1.A Case of Idiopahic Calcinosis of the Scrotum.
Korean Journal of Dermatology 1977;15(1):75-79
Idiopathic calcinois of the scrotum which was described by Shapiro et al. in 1970 is a rare cutaneous disorder and it seems that this is tbe first case reporting in Korean literature. A 26-year old male was well until age 25 when a few, small nodule developed on the scrotal area and, thereafter, have increased in the numbers and size of the nodules progressively. The skin lessions showed multiple, yellowish, firm, round, smooth nodul ranging in size from that of the head of a pin to that of a pea. Clinica, lly they seemed to be steatoma, but histologic findings showed several islands of calcified amorphous material without: any evidence of residual cysts. He appeared to be in good general health and had an apparently normal skin except for hie scrotum.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 1987;25(1):71-75
Using Avidin-Biotin immunoperaxidase method, we investigate the distribution patterns of factor VIII related antigen in various areas of skin lesions of 14 granuloma pyogenicum. and in the skin lesions of 5 capillary hemangioma and 5 normal skin. The results are summarized as follows: 1. Factor VIII related antigen was detected in 9 of 14 cases of granuloma pyogenicum, in 4 of 5 cases of capillary hemangioma, and in 5 of 5 cases of normal skin. 2. In the lesions of granuloma pyogenicum the areas with prominent capillary endothelial cell proliferation had less positivity than the vascular areas. And the areas with relatively large vesels in the lesions of granuloma pyogenicum had similar positivity as capillary hemangioma. 3. The lesions of granuloma pyogenicum and capillary hemangioma had less positivity than the vessels of normal derrnis.

5.Reconstruction of Extensive Lower Extermity Soft Tissue Defect Using Free Latissimus Dorsi Muscle Flap with STSG.

Journal of the Korean Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons 1999;26(5):927-932
Reconstruction of extensive soft tissue defects of the lower extremity, especially when complicated by open fracture and bone loss, is usually a difficult problem for the plastic surgeon. Many methods have been devised to treat these conditions Musculocutaneous flaps add a valuable surgical alternative that bring vascularized cover to the defects, and the free microvascular transfer of these flaps gives the surgeon an added dimension of versatility. The latissimus dorsi is an extremly reliable musculocutaneous flap with a long, large-caliber vascular pedicle, so that dissection of the muscle can be performed with relative ease. The size of the latissimus dorsi muscle lends itself to coverage of large defects. While these characteristics appear to make the free latissimus dorsi musculocutaneous transfer ideal in many circumstances, it has some disadvantages. At the recipient site, the flap is ofter too bulky, and donor-site closure requires skin grafts if the flap is wider than 10cm. These skin grafts on the posterior thorax seriously detract from the final appearance of the donor site. The authors have experienced 12 cases of reconstruction of extensive lower extremity soft tissue defect in which the latissimus dorsi muscle alone was transferred and covered with a split-thickness skin graft. This method improves the recipient-site contour by decreasing the bulk of the flap and it also improves the donor-site appearance. We described technical considerations in each case and the advantages of free latissimus dorsi muscle flap and skin graft for the reconstruction of extensive soft tissue defect in the lower extremity.

6.A Case of Marjllin's Ulcer.

Marjolin is ulcer may be defined briefly as a cancer arising in a bum scar. A 41-year-old female had a Marjolin is ulcer(12x10x3cm) on her right lower leg. This ulcerated tumor has been present for two and half months and the induction period sinnc her bum was 29 years. The pathologic diagn.osis was squamous cell carcinoma, grade 2. Roentgenograms of her right lower leg revealed several soft tissue masses densities which, in part, horizontally connected with the periosteum of the tibia. So she was treated by above-knee amputation with dissection of several, unenlarged inguinal nodes which showed no evidence of metastases. She developed large, single, fixed metastatic node in right inguinal area one month after amputation and dissection was done.

7.Two Cases of Lichen Planus.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 1986;24(5):682-686
We have experienced 2 cases of lichen planus. Case 1 was a. 76-year-old male who has suffered from discrete, scaly, round to polygonal papules on the trunk and the e:xtremiities for 3 months. The VDRL test for syphilis was reactive at a titer of 1:2 and the TPHA test was positive. The skin lesions were responded to 3 weekly injections of benzathine penicillin 2.4 million units, Case 2 was a 17-year-old male who has suffered from discrete, erythematous to violaceous colored, flat papules on the right shin for several months. He has treated with oral medication of griseofulvin. After 2 weeks of the medication, the skin ]esions showed improvement with gradual reduction of pruritus and flattening of the papules. About one month of the medication, all skin lesions cliappeared with dark brownish hue and hypopigmentation. And recurreci lesions after stopping medication are disappeared after 2 months of retreatment with griseofulvin.

9.A Study on the Relationship between CEA Immunohistochemical Findings and Expression Rate of PCNA and Clinicopathologic Factors of Colorectal Cancers.

Journal of the Korean Society of Coloproctology 1998;14(4):725-734
Immunohistochemical study was performed for CEA staining patterns and PCNA indices. And the relationship between immunohistochemical findings and well-known clinical prognostic factors on the purpose of the clinical usefulness was evaluated. In forty seven cases of surgically removed colorectal carcinomas, the results were as follows; CEA staining patterns were apical (17 cases) and cytoplasmic (30 cases) type. Carcinomas with cyto plasmic pattern for CEA revealed more advanced Dukes' stage and more undifferentiated type and higher incidence of lymph node metastasis and were correlated with increased serum CEA levels. But PCNA indices showed no correlation with the Dukes' stage, histologic grade and CEA staining patterns. The cytoplasmic pattern of CEA immunohistochemistry may be a useful marker suggesting more aggressive biologic behavior of the colorectal carcinomas.
