Korean Circulation Journal 1999;29(8):840-843
Fewer than one half of patients with acute myocardial infarction is a candidate for thrombolytic therapy. Current data revealed that primary coronary stenting may be useful alternative to intravenous thrombolytic therapy for acute myocardial infarction in these subset of patients. We experienced a patient presenting with acute myocardial infarction and acute promyelocytic leukemia in whom thrombolytic therapy was thought be not eligible due to hemorrhagic tendency. Primary coronary stenting was performed successfully without complications. Follow-up angiography revealed no evidence of restenosis or stent occlusion.

The Journal of the Korean Orthopaedic Association 2013;48(2):165-174
Fracture of the distal radius is one of the most common fractures encountered in the emergency room. Although selection of a proper treatment modality is important for successful management of this fracture, early detection, prevention, and adequate treatment for its complications is also important. Complications associated with fracture of the distal radius can occur at any time during the treatment process and the prevalence rate is up to 27% of all distal radius fractures. This article provides a review of possible complications associated with distal radius fracture, along with a discussion of prevention and appropriate treatment methods.

Journal of the Korean Microsurgical Society 2010;19(2):81-87
In surgical treatment of the malignant melanoma, radical resection and a sentinel lymph node biopsy are essential procedures to eradicate the tumor and to minimize the risk of local recurrence. For the reconstruction of skin defect after tumor resection, a skin graft has been generally performed procedure. However, if tendon or bone is exposed after tumor resection, simple skin graft is not enough for the coverage of the defect and additional procedure is mandatory. In this study, we reviewed the clinical results of 16 patients, who had been diagnosed with malignant melanoma of the limb and underwent surgical resection and reconstruction of the defect with various methods. The sentinel lymph node dissection was performed in all patients combined with radical excision of the tumor. In 11 cases of positive sentinel lymph nodes, further elective lymph node dissections were performed. The mean tumor invasion depth was 4.54 mm (2~10 mm), and AJCC stage II was most common (9 cases). The pedicled flaps were performed in 10 cases for the reconstruction of defects. All flaps were successfully survived without significant complications until the last follow up. In conclusion, a pedicled flap coverage is very useful reconstruction strategy for the soft tissue defects after radical resection of malignant melanoma.

Korean Journal of Occupational and Environmental Medicine 2009;21(1):10-17
OBJECTIVES: Work-family conflict can arise from two opposite directions: the experiences at work interfere with family life and the experiences in the family interfere with work life. This study explored the effects of the presence of two income sources on the association between work-family conflict and job attitude. METHODS: Responses to structured survey questionnaires were received from 236 two-income families living in the Seoul Metropolitan Area. RESULTS: A differential effect was observed between single-income families and two-income families. Higher job satisfaction was related with lower work interference with family (WIF) among single-income families and with lower family interference with work (FIW) among two-income families. CONCLUSIONS: Employee welfare programs need to be expanded to enhance job satisfaction for the increasing number of two-income families.

Journal of the Korean Ophthalmological Society 2001;42(7):933-938
PURPOSE: This study was to observe the clinical outcome and complications of Medpor(R) orbital implant. METHODS: The clinical outcome and complications were studied retrospectively in 64 eyes with Medpor(R) implantation. Evisceration was done in 34 cases, enucleation in 19 cases, and secondary implantation in 11cases. Mean follow up period was 16 months(4~30 months) and mean age of the participants was 34.9(1~79). RESULTS: Implant infection developed in one case, implant exposure developed in four cases and superior sulcus deformity developed in two cases. Motility Coupling Post(MCP) was inserted in 26 eyes. Motility of the prosthesis was good in most cases. CONCLUSIONS: Medpor(R) orbital implant is being widely used currently. Complications or motility of the prosthesis showed no significant difference from those of Hydroxyapatite. But low cost and its handiness in operation makes it a desirable orbit implant.
