1.Effect of Tolamolol on the Cardiac Arrhythmias induced Halothane Anesthesia.

Korean Circulation Journal 1974;4(2):69-73
There are many reports of ventricular arrhythmias following the injection of epinephrine under general anesthesia with halothane or cyclopropane. Raventos reported that catecholamines given animals during chloroform, cyclopropane or halothane anesthesia have caused ventricular arrhythmias which sometimes developed into ventricular fibrillation. But there are a few reports of atrial arrhythmias in patients under general anesthesia with alone halothane. While it is known that hypercapnia can elicit arrhythmia during halothane anesthesia, Black and coworkers that hypercapnia of 60 to 140mmHg (average 92mmHg) is necessary for the occurrence of arrhythmias during halothane anesthesia. Hellewell and Potts reported 12 cases of arrhythmias under halothane anesthesia which were treated by propranolol, producing a return of sinus rhythm in an average time of 46 seconds. The authors reported one case with atrial arrhythmias induced by halothane anesthesia, which were arrested by the IV injection of 5mg of tolamolo, beta-receptor blocking agent. Thereafter arrhythmias did not reappear.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 1988;26(6):846-853
We studied 283 patients with herpes zoster who visited to the Hangang Sacred Heart Hospital between January, 1982 and December, 1985 about the distribution of age, sex, seasonal incidence, associated diseases, camplications and the effect of systemic prednisolone on post herpetic neuralgia. And we also examined the functional states of involved sensory nerve endings by observing the axon flare response to histamine test. The results were as follows . 1. There was no significant differences in sexual and seasonal distributions. 2. There were low incidences of herpes zoster in age groups of below 20 years and over 70 years than age groups of 20 69 years. 3. Sites of involvement were thoracic(170 cases), cervical(38 cases), trigeminal(35 cases), lumbar(28 cases), sacral(11 cases) and facial(1 case) dermatomes. 4. Associated diseases were diabetes mellitus(7 cases), hypertension(7 cases). pulmonary tuberculosis(6 cases), malignant neoplasms(3 cases) and renal transplantation (1 case). 5. Complications were post herpetic neuralgia(18 cases), keratoconjunctivitis(9 cases), meningoencephalitis(1 case), Ramsay Hunt syndrome(1 case), urinary difficulty(1 case) and generalized varicelliform eruption(1 case). 6. The incidence of post-herpetic neuralgia was reduced by systemic prednisolone therapy in patients over 60 years. 7. There was no decrease of axon flare by histamine test on the affected area in 18 patients with herpes zoster.

Journal of the Korean Radiological Society 1986;22(5):767-771
The emergency arteriography have been performed in a total of 13 patiens with extermity trauma, including 9fractures, 3 blunting traumas, and 1 penetrating injury. over 17 months period. The indications were as follows:absent or diminishe pulse, swelling, sensory or motor deficit , and hypotension. Patients with an absent pulse, the most reliable indication of arterial injury, should have immediate arteriography. The superficial femoralartery was commonly injured especially with distal femoral shaft fracture. The most common arteriographic findingswas arterial occlusion.

The one case of sparganosis is described, the patient, 45 years old male, had adult fist sized tumor mass on scrotum for 3 year's duration and removed 4 adults sparganum mansonoides by surgical operation. Attention is calIed to the importance of sparganosis in subcutaneous swelling or tumor because of to took lived snake or non-boiling water in customary at Korea.
