A clinical and histologic survey was done on 71 cases of basal cel carcinoma(BCC) filed at Department of Clinical Fathology, Kang Nam, Han Kang, and Kang Dong Sacred Heart Hospital during past 13 year s from 1979 to 1991. The results were summerized as follows: 1. Of all malignant skin tumors BCC accounted for 31.6%. The frequency of BCC in the total number of outpatients visiting the Department of Dermatology was 0.06%. 2. The ratio of men to women with HCC was 1:1.03. 83.8% of the pat.ients with BCC were older than the age of l0 years with the mean age of 56.9 years. 3. 83.8% of the BCC appared in the face, especially on the nose(25.4%), eyelid(20.3%). 4. On the basis of classification of Lever et al, the solid type(66.7% ) was the most com mon histologic pattern, followed by the adenoid(8.8%), pigmented(8.8%), and etc. By the classification of Farmer et al, the nodulocystic type(35.1% ) was the most common histologic pattern followed by infiltrative(31.6%), adenoid(8.8%), pigmented(8.8%), and etc. By the classification on Sexton et al, in the order of decreasing frequency, liistologic subtypes were the nodular(43.9%), mixed (22.8%), infiltrative(19.3%), supeficial(3.5%), morpheic(3.5%), and micronodular(3.5%).

A 81-year-old man was referred for respiratory failure by emergency medical technicians. He admitted at intensive care unit for ventilator treatment. Several hours before admission, he took sildenafil 100 mg for erectile dysfunction without prescription. The episodes of hemoptysis occurred several hours later. Computed tomography revealed multifocal diffuse ground-glass attenuation in both lungs. And the more we performed bronchoalveolar lavage, the more the color of it was turned into red. We treated him with empirical antibiotics and tranexamic acid, and hemoptysis was stopped in one day after admission. But in the 5th admission day, he died from sepsis combined with pneumonia caused by Acinetobacter baumannii abruptly.

We report two cases of multiple neurilemmomas occured in a 17-year-old female and in a 76-year-old male. Both cases were histopathologically confirmed as neurilemmoma and immunohistochemical study showed S-100 protein in the tumor cells of case 1.

Journal of Korean Biological Nursing Science 2018;20(2):92-102
PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to analyze the current status of studies related to the learning methods of biological nursing subjects in Korea. METHODS: Five databases (KoreaMed, KMbase, NDSL, KISS, KiSTi) and grey literature were searched prior to February 2018. A total 12 studies met the inclusion criteria including 11 articles and 1 proceeding. RESULTS: We included five experimental studies, five non-experimental studies, and two mixed method studies. First, most of the studies that applied a learning method focused on the subject of human anatomy and physiology; team-based learning was the method that was utilized the most. Second, the necessity of well-designed research was confirmed because the quality of included studies was low. Third, the research variables identified were mainly concentrated on the affective domain, and included satisfaction, motivation, self-efficacy, self-directed learning, confidence, attitude. We confirmed the need to develop a learning program that can also improve the cognitive and psychomotor domain variables in future research. CONCLUSION: The results of this study suggest that further research should be conducted with consideration the domain of research variables evenly. In addition, future studies should apply various learning methods and included randomized controlled trials.

OBJECTIVE: Although clinical guidelines recommend that antidepressant treatment should be continued for at least 4 to 9 months, naturalistic studies show that the average length of treatment is shorter than 6 months and that dropout rates are high. But factors leading patients to discontinuation of therapy are not well understood yet. In this study, we investigated factors associated with adherence to antidepressant in Korean patients with depressive disorder. METHODS: Patients who were diagnosed as depressive disorder according to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders-4th edition criteria and took prescribed antidepressants were included in this study. Medical records of 194 patients were reviewed retrospectively. To find adherence to antidepressant treatment, we calculated Medication Possession Ratio at 2 wks, 4 wks, 8 wks, 12 wks, 24 wks after their 1st visit. Patient-related factors, illness-related factors including measurement scales (Beck Depression Inventory, Patient Health Questionnare-15, Global Assessment of Recent Stress Scale scores), and treatment-related factors were compared between adherent group and non-adherent group using chi-square test or student t-test. Multivariate logistic regression was used to predict factors associated with adherence to antidepressant treatment. RESULTS: Analyzing data of 194 patients, 106 patients (54.6%), and 82 patients (42.3%) were adherent group at 12 wks and 24 wks, respectively. In patient-related factors, old age and low education periods were significantly associated with adherent group. In illness-related factors and treatment-related factors, none of the factors showed a significant difference between groups. In multivariate logistic regression, old age was significantly associated with sustained adherence at 12 wks. CONCLUSION: We found some factors associated with adherence to antidepressant treatment. Old age was associated with sustained adherence to antidepressant. To enhance adherence to antidepressant, our findings suggest that outpatient education program is needed. And social policy is also essential to reduce stigma in psychiatric department especially among young patients.
