3.Aortic Root Replacement with Homograft in Behcet's Disease: A Case Report.
The Korean Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery 1997;30(1):92-96
The prognosis of Behcet's disease characterized by recurrent orogenital ulcers and ocular and skin lesions depends upon the complications in the central nervous system, the gastrointestinal tract and the vascular system. Cardiac involvement, especially aortic regurgitation, is quite uncommon and hemodynamic instability is usually treated with open heart surgery. But serious postoperative complications had been reported in many cases, which are prosthetic valve detachment, paravalvular leakage, conduction disturbance, and false aneurysm. Many efforts to prevent the complications have been made such as application of cryopreseved homograft. We have described an experience of root replacement with homograft in a 39 year-old male patient for prosthetic valve detachment because of Behcet's aortitis with a review of the literatures regarding treatment, complication, and prognosis.

The Journal of Korean Academy of Prosthodontics 2017;55(1):46-52
Provisional restoration plays an important role in the process of restoration with fixed partial denture by providing protection and restoring function and esthetics of abutment tooth. This is especially true in patients requiring use of provisional prosthesis for a long term. However, such situations may lead to higher possibility of provisional prosthesis fracture, and if expected so, reinforcement of provisional prosthesis should be considered. In this article, a patient requiring prosthetic treatment with increase of vertical dimension of occlusion was introduced. Due to increased vertical dimension of occlusion, the provisional restoration was expected to withstand relatively larger amount of load during a relatively long observation period. In order to minimize possible occurrence of fracture, reinforcement of the provisional restoration was sought by insertion of cast-metal framework and by using bis-acryl resin. The reinforced provisional restoration showed satisfactory results during the observation period of 4 months.

Journal of Korean Neuropsychiatric Association 2005;44(4):397-415
Recently Our medical systems have been changed to a great extent and mental health systems have evolved as well ; with increased mental disorders, suicide, family violence, and increasing an elderly population. Currently, the general population has become more aware of an importance of mental health, and increasing mental disorders in turn led to massive social burdens. This requires an emergence of new national mental health policy. By establishing the national mental health policy, we, Korean Neuropsychiatric Association, are able to build a reputation that we deserve as a professional group, and provide the mental health promotion of the general population and improve the quality of life of those that are mentally ill.

The Journal of Advanced Prosthodontics 2020;12(5):251-258
PURPOSE:
The bond strengths between resin denture teeth with various compositions and denture base resins including conventional and CAD/CAM purposed materials were evaluated to find influence of each material.
MATERIALS AND METHODS:
Cylindrical rods (6.0 mm diameter × 8.0 mm length) prepared from pre-polymerized CAD/CAM denture base resin blocks (PMMA Block-pink; Huge Dental Material, Vipi Block-Pink; Vipi Industria) were bonded to the basal surface of resin teeth from three different companies (VITA MFT® ; VITA Zahnfabrik, Endura Posterio® ; SHOFU Dental, Duracross Physio® ; Nissin Dental Products Inc.) using resin cement (Super-Bond C&B; SUN MEDICAL). As a control group, rods from a conventional heat-polymerizing denture base resin (Vertex™ Rapid Simplified; Vertex-Dental B.V. Co.) were attached to the resin teeth using the conventional flasking and curing method. Furthermore, the effect of air abrasion was studied with the highly cross-linked resin teeth (VITA MFT® ) groups. The shear bond strengths were measured, and then the fractured surfaces were examined to analyze the mode of failure.
RESULTS:
The shear bond strengths of the conventional heat-polymerizing PMMA denture resin group and the CAD/CAM denture base resin groups were similar. Air abrasion to VITA MFT® did not improve shear bond strengths. Interfacial failure was the dominant cause of failure for all specimens.
CONCLUSION
Shear bond strengths of CAD/CAM denture base materials and resin denture teeth using resin cement are comparable to those of conventional methods.

Korean Journal of Medical Education 2011;23(1):33-39
PURPOSE: Multimedia can be used to understand the basic anatomy and pathological features of the bladder, providing more intuitive knowledge than traditional education methods. Cystoscopy is one of the most fundamental and important diagnostic procedures for detecting pathology in the bladder. Thus, we developed a PC-based digitalized recording device and electronic document to create an electronic medical record to perform cystoscopy and used them for medical education. METHODS: To share them with an educatee, cystoscopic images from a camera unit were shown on the monitor of a personal computer, which was installed with an interface device with an S-VHS input. With these cystoscopic images, the operator could provide some information on important structures in the bladder, such as bilateral ureteral orifices, the verumontanum and the trigone to the educatee. Also, simple questionnaires were given to medical students to evaluate the effectiveness and value of this system. RESULTS: Cystoscopic images could be transferred to the monitor with considerable ease and quality through the personal computer. This system was effective and valuable in teaching the normal anatomy and pathology of the bladder. Also, based on the results of the questionnaire, we concluded that this system provides high-quality images that are sufficient to relay medical information and is superior to traditional methods with regard to educational effectiveness and increasing one's understanding of medical diseases. CONCLUSION: The PC-based recording system for cystoscopy substitutes for commercial recording devices for medical purposes, and provides sufficient medical information to medical students to allow them to understand the normal anatomy and pathological structure of the bladder.
