The Korean Journal of Parasitology 1995;33(1):65-67
We examined stool specimens of the residents in the emigration camp in Tijuana, Mexico for helminth eggs or protozoan cysts with formalin-ethyl acetate concentration method in February and July 1992. Out of 92 examined samples, number of positive was 49 (53.3%). While number of cumulative positive was 66 (71.7%). Cysts of Entamoeba coli (29.3%) Giardia lamblia (9.8%), Entamoeba histolytica (7.6%), and eggs of Taenia spp. (6.5) were most frequently observed. Filtered water supply and chemotherapy were required in this camp.

2.Pelvic Arteriovenous Malformation: A Case Report.
Young Duk JOH ; Jong Min KIM ; Jin Do HUH
Journal of the Korean Radiological Society 1995;33(6):865-868
Arteriovenous mafformation(AVM) of female pelvic organ is a rare disease of unknown cause. The authors' report a case of pelvic AVM which was incidentally found during US examination of the patient with choriocarcinoma after chemotherapy. The real-time sonography revealed several cystic lesions around the uterus with adjacent dilated tortuous vessels. The color Doppler sonography depicted abundant blood flow mixed with red and blue colors within the cystic lesions and rapid turbulent systolic and diastolic flows. CT showed well-enhancing round vascular lesions with elongated vessels in the pelvis, and MRI depicted signal-void cystic lesions on both T1 and T2 weighted images with small portions of high intensity within the lesions on T2 weighted image. The angiography revealed pelvic AVM fed by tortuous uterine and vaginal arteries with a dilated draining vein

5.The usefulness of thin-section rapid infusion CT for detection of cerebral aneurysm.
Jong Min KIM ; So Sun KIM ; Jin Do HUH
Journal of the Korean Radiological Society 1993;29(6):1116-1120
With 2mm-thick CT scanning during the rapid infusion of contrast material(TICT), cerebral aneurysms arising from the circle of Willis and adjacent vessels can be directly visualized. Twenty-five patients who had cerebral aneurysm confirmed by surgery were examined with TIGT and digital subtraction angiography. The authors examined TIGT prospectively to assess the detection rate of the cerebal aneurysms and to evaluate the clinical usefulness of TIGT. The detection rates of aneurysms by TIGT and digital subtraction angiography were 68% and 84%, respectively. TIGT is a rapid, safe and reliable method in the evaluation of patients with suspected cerebral aneurysm, permitting direct visualization of the aneurysm.

6.Significance of 203Hg Neohydrin Renal Scanning in Diagnosis of Renal Diseases.
Jong Hae HUH ; Jong Byung YOON
Korean Journal of Urology 1977;18(2):103-110
203Hg neohydrin renal scanning was done in 32 cases of various renal diseases to evaluate its diagnostic significance by comparing with I.V.P. and with the weight of renal parenchyme remained in post-nephrectomized specimens. 1. The incidence depicting warm area on renal scanning was higher than that of excretory findings on I.V.P.; approximately one third of non-visualizing kidneys on pyelogram showed positive renal images by renal scanning. 2. The size of warm area on renal scanning closely correlated with the weight of parenchyme remained in diseased kidney. 3. The technique of renal scanning was more simple and less hazardous than that of I.V.P. 4. Renal scanning would be so valuable in the diagnosis of renal diseases, particularly for advanced lesions and that the combination of renal scanning and I.V.P. was desirable

7.Relationship between histologic features of the retrodiskal tissues and magnetic resonance imaging findings in temporomandibular joint internal derangement.
Journal of the Korean Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons 2000;26(4):373-382
Temporomandibular disorders arised from joint itself was caused by inflammation or mechanical irritation of the retrodiskal tissues. Histologic changes of the retrodiskal tissues of temporomandibular joint(TMJ) internal derangement, such as inflammatory cell infiltration, hyalinization, myxoid change, fatty change, arterial obliteration, and so on, were reported, but relationships between magnetic resonance imaging(MRI) findings and histologic findings of the retrodiskal tissue were few reported. The purpose of this study was to find histologic changes of the retrodiskal tissues for status of joint and joint effusion in MRI of the temporomandibular joint which had surgical treatment. Materials were surgically treated 52 temporomandibular joints with internal derangement or osteoarthritis in TMJ clinic, Yongdong Severance Hospital. All joints were confirmed by magnetic resonance T1-and T2-weighted imagings bofere surgery. Status of joint was categorized by normal position, disc displacement with reduction, disc displacement without reduction, disc displacement without reduction associated with osteoarthrosis using preoperative MR T1-weighted images. Magnetic resonance evidence of joint effusion was observed in T2-weighted images and classified by its amount; degree 0(not observed), degree 1(small amount), degree 2(moderate amount), degree 3(large amount). Histologic features were observed whether the retrodiskal tissue has inflammatory cell infiltration, myxoid change, hyalinization, chondroid metaplasia and arterial obliteration. The distribution of elastic fibers were also observed. The results were as follows; 1. Inflammatory cell infiltration was not observed in any retrodiskal tissues. 2. MRI findings such as status of joint and evidence of joint effusion did not have significant relationship with myxoid change, hyalinization, chondroid metaplasia, arterial obliteration of the retrodiskal tissues. 3. Hyalinization and chondroid metaplasia were found in 8 joints(15.4%) and 5 joints(9.6%). All of them were found in disc displacement without reduction and disc displacement without reduction associated with osteoarthrosis. 4. Arterial obliteration was observed more frequently in disc displacement without reduction(55.6%) than disc displacement without reduction associated with osteoarthrosis(28.6%). Further studies with proper controls and more materials will be necessary.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 1982;20(1):59-67
The statistics of 40,611 new cases of skin diseases seen in Dermatologic department of Chonnam University Hospital from 1971 to 1980 are analysed and significant changes in incidence of the 25 most common dermatoses are discussed in detail and the results are comared with other surveys. The results of this study are summed up in 4 tables. Table 1. Shows the annual frequency of the 25 most common dermatoses. Table 2. Shows the frequency of the 25 most common dermatoses by age group. Table 3. Shows the frequency of the 25 most common derrnatoses by season, sex and region. Table 4. Shows the comparison of frequency of the 20 most common dermatoses with other reports.
