Choriocarcinoma associated with a normal pregnancy is rare. Futhermore, choriocarcinoma coexistent with a viable pregnancy is even rarer and associated with a greater risk of hepatic and cerebral involvement. So timely diagnosis of the disease is important for successful treatment and aggressive diagnostic procedures may therefore warranted. The patient should be treated with primary intensive combination chemotherapy(EMA-CO) and the selective use of irradiation and surgical therapy. We experienced a case of metastatic choriocarcinoma of lung and kidney following preterm delivery at 34th week of pregnancy and so present it with brief review of literature.

We present a case of warty dyskeratoma in a 51-year-old man. He had two, discret, well-defined, skin-colored papules with central depression on the scalp for about 5 to 6 months. Histopathological findings showed hyperkeratosis, acantholytic and dyskeratotic cells in the dilated follicular infundibulum with the villi formation and suprabasilar cleft around them, typical of warty dyskeratoma.

Cutarieous manifest,ations and systemic complications were observed in 521 patient., with diabetes mellitus. The results were as follows: Total 70, 8% of patients had complications', In 16. 5%, cutaneous manifestation were observed. Systemic complications were observed in 27 6%, Both eutaneous manifestations and systemic complications were observed in 26 7% 2 The cutaneous mariifestations observed in 43 2%, were cutaneous infection, pruritus, shin spot, diabetic foit, peripheral edema, diahetic bulla, foot gangrene and rutieosis in the order of frequency, 3, The cutaneous manifestations were much more observed in patients with systemic complications than without them(p<0 05), and with longer duration more than 10 years history, 4. It seems to be no relationship between the cutancous manifestations and fasting blood sugar level.

BACKGROUND: It has been well known that absolute and interpeak latencies of brainstem auditory evoked potentials (BAEP) are usually prolonged in diabetics. However, Its etiology is still controversial. We tried to identify whether the cause is structural or metabolic in origin by performing BAEP and brain MRI in the diabetic patients. METHODS: BAEP were performed in both the diabetic patients (DM) group (16 males and 15 females) and the normal control group (25 males and 33 female). A brain MRI was performed in the DM group on those who showed abnormal BAEP and com-pared the results of BAEP of the DM group with those of the control group. RESULTS: 7 patients (22.6%) showed abnor-mal BAEP (male; 6, female; 1, unilateral; 4, bilateral; 3) when abnormal BAEP was defined as being larger than two and a half standard deviations of the control group BAEP results. Two males of the DM group who showed abnormal structural lesions of the pons in their brain MRI were not included in the statistical analysis. The remaining 14 diabetic male patients (mean age: 58.7 +/-9.1 years, mean disease duration: 6.1 +/-4.7 years, mean hemoglobin (Hb) A1C: 7.7 +/- 2.0%) and 15 diabetic female patients (mean age: 60.6 +/-10.8 years, mean disease duration: 5.4 +/-5.1 years, mean HgA1C: 7.8 +/-2.1%) were stastistically analyzed. Interpeak latencies of I-III, III-V, and I-V were found to be signifi-cantly prolonged in the DM group. The prolongation of interpeak latencies of I-III and I-V were found to be signifi-cantly correlated with the disease duration only in the diabetic female patients, but not with age and HbA1c. CONCLUSIONS: These findings suggest that both metabolic derangement and structural lesion contribute to prolonging the central conduction time on BAEP pathway in diabetics.

A total of 53 patients infected with Taenia solium were treated with praziquantel in two different dose levels. Twenty-six cases were treated with praziquantel in a single oral dose of 5 mg/kg body weight. All cases except one were completely cured. The cure rate was 96.2 per cent. The other 27 cases were treated with a single dose of 10 mg/kg body weight. All cases were completely cured and revealed a cure rate of 100 per cent. Side effects were mild and transient. About half of the cases complained of a mild abdominal pain. Soft stool or diarrhea and dizziness were observed in some cases. Tests on clinical hematology, serum biochemistry and urinalysis were performed immediately before and one day after treatment in all cases. There were no significant abnormalities detected in these tests.

Three-dimensional solid model has not been widely used in surgical prediction of orthognathic surgery because freque from occlusal restorations or prosthesis limited the usefulness of simulated surgery involving occlusion. We prepared three-dimensional(3D) solid model from CT data and integrated the 3D solid model with dental cast using a face-bow transfer technique combined with skeletal reference measurement and confirmation with cephalometric radiographs. With this simple and easy method, it was possible to predict bony interference between the proximal and distal segment of the mandible so that we can prevent condylar displacement after sagittal split ramus osteotomy of the mandible with prominent asymmetry. Thirty-nine patients with fixed drug eruption who visited the Department of Dermatology in National Medical Center from January 1g7g to December 1982 were selected. Among them, twentyseven patients performed skin biopsy and were evaluated histopathologically on the basis of duration. The results were as follows; ].In the early stage less than 1 week of duration, hydropic degeneration of basal cells, necrotic keratinocytes with eosinophilic cytoplasm and pknotic nucleus in the epidermis, and mixed cell infiltration with eosinophlis in the upper dermis were prominently. In the late stage more than 20 days of duration, acanthosis, an increased amount of melanin in the basal cell layer and presence of melanophages were found more prominent, however, hydropic degeneration of basal cells, papillary dermal ederna, inflammatory infiltration of mononuclear cells were found less prounced or absent.
